      Unfortunately, this model does not come without date. But a similar model under 165.010 is no-date.

    Probably my favorite seamaster case design. The same to the f300 pretty sure.

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  Рік тому

      Once you own one you’ll know how solid this case is.

    • @stanleyomar
      @stanleyomar 10 місяців тому

      It is apparently the same, even though the case back of the f300 has a different case number (198.001). Just discovered this while searching for (and buying) a case to replace a cracked bezel on one of my 168.022/166.032's (the case back of this model has both numbers). Took me years to find just the empty case. Love this watch so much!

      @@stanleyomar The case of the f300 is different on the inside as it uses another movement and also the back cover is dfferent and cant be interchanged. Dont know if the bezel is.

    • @stanleyomar
      @stanleyomar 3 місяці тому

      @@user-mk5vk6sp5oThat's good to know about the rest of the case if I ever decide to use it for anything. The bezel itself worked perfectly and the swap was quick and painless. My watchmaker didn't even charge me, it was that simple.

    There is a reference that is even a bit more underrated, its the same watch basicaly but with daydate funktion: Ref. 166.032/ 168.023, theres also a normal version and a chronometer version using either a cal. 752 or 751. Not so many of them were built from 1969 on for just a few years. Its my favorite vintage watch, I own three in steel, one gold plated and one in full 18k gold, 3 of them are chronometers and 2 are not.

    Great video…thank you. These are sometimes referred to as “Sparkle Dial” Seamasters because of the glittery surface. Although, there is also a version that has what I call the “radial” dial with circular brush marks. I had a couple of the date date versions in the past.

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  Рік тому

      Thanks for sharing! And you are absolutely correct. Sparkle dial is probably the better of the two to own since the swirl dial is more prone to scratches.

    I have couple of those in my collection. I don’t understand why this version Seamaster does not get the same attention as the Constellation.

    Absolutely underrated, in my opinion this watch can stand up with a Rolex Datejust but for a far lower price.

      Nice! Take good care of it. It is common for the bezel to be polished on this model.

      @carloscanales9686 Рік тому

      @@TimelessHistoryChannel its a shame, can the bezel be removed for restoration? maybe would be a good idea

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  Рік тому

      @@carloscanales9686 That is up to you. But this bezel is prone to break when removed and snap back on. Better to just leave it as is. Once the bezel has been polished, a knowledgeable collector can still tell if you try restoring it with the sunburst texture.

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  Рік тому +1

      A fair price is one within your budget. Most dealers offer them for around 2.5k, fully serviced with a warranty.

    Something about Vintage watches is addicting, not like watch collecting in general isn’t addicting..but there’s something about owning a watch that is more rare and hard to get and a piece of time history ..

  • @bigmak8389

    Will you cover the 168.024 Seamaster? Which do you think about the two chronometer versions of Seamaster?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  Рік тому

      168.024 is the chronometer version of a 166.010. 168.024 takes the same movement as the Seamaster in this video under 168.022. So, you can apply all the information (except for the case design) from this video to your watch as well. They are literally the same watch quality and mechanical wise. Just different in case design. But I will make a video on the non-chronometer version 166.010 soon!

      @TimelessHistoryChannel  Рік тому

      I do, my website link is in the description box below. You’ll find many pieces there. Do note that all watches are professionally serviced and come with a one-year warranty. When that has expired, it will ONLY cost you $100 plus shipping each time you return it for a regular maintenance service. No dealer in the business can provide this service.

      The price will vary from seller to seller, but if you are grabbing one in as is condition, they are usually less expensive compared to other Seamaster models.
