I own a 2003 Disco 2 and it looks like new, many people in my area love the look of the vehicle, and have even asked for a ride in it just because it's a Land Rover, they are a lot of fun to drive.
I also used to believe this myth. The Rover v8 and 1.8 petrol engines have issues with the head gasket if it isn't replaced during major services. This was not by design. For some people this is "unreliable". In reality it's a very minor inconvenience. However, Land Rover diesel engines are very reliable. There are still so many, many 70s, 80s, 90s Land Rovers on the road. Where are all the old Land Cruisers? They've been scrapped my friend.
Its a shame that a lot of people that purchased them didnt keep up qoth the maintenance. Now its hard to find a good maintained discovery. But if you want toblearn how to build one and gain some knowledge, buying a used one is the best way.
Very true! We love our 2001 Disco 2! We bought it used and like you said, some never kept up with the maintenance, but after we have given it a bit of TLC these past couple years, it's been a ton of fun! Plus, they are not that hard to work on, nor find parts. The Land Rover community is a great group of people, always willing to help figure out things and search for parts. Our Disco is my husband's daily ride, but we off-road with it as well.
I loved the video. I also have a clean Td5 Discovery 2, 2000 - I love it too much. But i wish to get a V8 one. Can someone tell me any place in the UK where i can get very clean ones, low mileage and free from rust, almost like new ?
There are many featured in the classified ads in local papers. But beware these V8's drink a LOT of fuel at best you'll get 18/20 miles to a UK gallon. Also the engine blocks on the V8's are prone to cracking.. Best stick with the TD5 engine & a manual shift far more reliable & much cheaper to run & less servicing. Happy hunting.
its a pity series. 2 did not have the .auto trans dipstick to check trans oil level like the series one did as i find it a pain ita the good thing with my disco is not having star gazer roof windows as my door .pillows .will not rust out
@@destinationokavango4443 There are far too many things to go wrong with a D3 Chassis bushes Electrics, turbo failure, emissions control failure. I tried one off road & it couldn't do what a D2 can. The best Discos are D 1/2 the rest are just bling 4x4's
Got a 2004 model at 19, I love it !

Awesome!! Same here
One of the most poorly treated vehicles then people question the reliability.
Yeah totally agreed
💯
I mean you can treat a Land Cruiser exactly like this and it’ll never break down. It’s definitely unreliable.
넋두리야?.
