    2021 and this is still useful info. I have a 2004 LR2 Td5, with the CDL factory installed.. Currently on 187 500 miles, and have never had serious mechanical issues. This is the BEST of all worlds, taking into account the traction control Hill descent control..

    I have a 1985 Suzuki SJ413 KJA with open diffs, I don’t get stuck often because a lot of what is said in this video applies to 95% of driving offroad. Having spent 10 years in the Army, I saw the Defender replaced by the Wolf. Admittedly a Land Rover is not for me, a Range Rover yes (had a couple, loved them to death). I have forward links to 3 friends with discovery ll. Vehicle weight plays a big part in traversing any terrain.
    The information in this video is a very good guide to understanding & using your vehicle offroad.

    Had one, I miss it a lot. Not only does it look great, it rides great, and is very good offroad.

    It is impossible to get stuck anywhere with a mustache like the driver has- the Disco just isn't gonna let it down. Wouldn't dare!

    As an off roader (in the UK) i see time and time again people failing to understand the traction control on their D2's. They give up and back off at the slightest wheel slip instead of keeping steady on the revs and allowing the traction control to deliver the power to the correct wheels. The D2 is way better than people give it credit for. Just service it every year with a decent LR garage.

      “A decent rover garage” tends to be your own private garage. You’ll do it properly and with care. If you have the place and the time it’s normally better if you do it your own…cheers

    Is left-foot-braking applicable to manual-transmission vehicles as well?

    • @checa160
      @checa160 2 роки тому +1

      It is. As long as you have enough feeling with the pedals not to stall it. If you stall, just restart, reset locker and TC(depending on the car/unit) and go…but no mechanical risks in it

    i do prefer the disco 2 to the disco 3, the 3 was far too heavy with its 2 chassis & slow plus it wasnt pretty with those rear lights thankfully they put all that right with the disco 4, yet todays disco 5 is really ugly at the back but the new disco sport is very pretty at the back, even thou the disco 5 starts at £47,000 which is £2000 more than the range rover velar which is a really nice looking car, yet you get the disco sport less than the evoque, so would anyone spend so much on Disco 5 which is f**k ugly when you get the velar, evoque & disco sport for loads less money without the vometting ..?
