I know it was lots of work but these washers are Soo much better than the new ones! I've had mine for 20 years and it still works perfectly! Unlike the new ones that last MaaaayBE 10 years If you're lucky!
That washer will last you a lifetime, it’s a classic Whirlpool direct drive machine as they make Maytag, looks absolutely beautiful glad it’s being taken care of!!
On video @ 5:19 mark, inside the agitator, there is a dust cap that you can remove. You will see a 7/16 nut you can remove and the agitator will come off to clean as well. You will find a lot of gunk/debris under this dust cap. Great video by the way, just wanted to inform you of this dust cap.
@@sarahratliff7179 because people don't understand chemistry very well (and I bet a lot of people are just taking the recommendation from someone else in the first place). Baking soda is good for certain types of cleaning tasks, and vinegar is good for other types of cleaning tasks. People assume if you mix, that must make them better for both at once, but that's not how it works. (I suspect the bubbling action is reminiscent of other cleaning products, where the bubbles _do_ indicate that they are working; whereas in this case all the bubbles are is CO2, a largely inert gas for cleaning purposes).
@@KeldrinMaresa Don't use both at once. I just cleaned my washing machine with hot water and vinegar and it worked really well! I pretty much did the same as in the video, but I skipped the baking soda.
Weird. I clean my drains all the time with baking soda and vinegar. Pour some baking soda in sink drains and then some vinegar until you get enough bubbling coming out of the drain into the sink. Let sit. You will actually get to see the absolutely nasty things that are clinging to your drains. Using flakey black stuff.
Omg I can't believe I finally found a video for this with the same washing machine I have...this must be my lucky day!

Thank you for your helpful comment!
Great video and extra points for the baby 👏🏽👏🏽
Just cleaned my washer today! It was so gross. Thanks for the tutorial!
Also what about around the outside of the main tub area? Mine is discusting! Can I throw water back there to clean?
You didn’t even show the inside of the agitator after the cycle ran. Overall, good video! Thank you.
Sorry!
Always good to know! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Did you wash your rag with the cycle?
Thinking she did or maybe she's sending it to you to clean for her.
Baking soda and vinegar cancel eachother out
Then why is it recommended so often?
