The thing is... my inner child still wants to visit the Factory, the Union, and wherever places the rivals came from. I wanna explore the city outside the tennis academy. I wanna make more friends, and maybe once in a while play doubles with someone else. When I get to the top of the varsity team, I want other students to challenge me. I wanna explore the Mushroom Kingdom, and interact more with those characters. I don't want another sequel. I want a remastered EXTENDED version of the original GBC game. A game they'll most likely never make.
Fantastic video! Very good analysis on why the Adventure Mode in Aces is the way it is. I personally wasn't sure what to expect from it as I wasn't familiar with the more story focused games, but having now played the them recently, I think I can see why people want a story mode like theirs to return. I'm more of a multiplayer person myself, but I would definitely be interested if they did that again.
Thanks for your thoughts! I definitely understand how the game is more for the multiplayer audience, and I too love that aspect of it. It's been really great seeing the engagement on Reddit for example, where people post about their matches and they can find others to play with - it's all great. I would just enjoy it even more if the story mode followed through. I'm hopeful they'll come back to it at some point.
Wooooow!!! I’m soooo happy I clicked on this video. This is such an amazing video! Camelot is one of not my favorite developers and I didn’t know even know half of this! I’m so surprised you don’t have more subscribers. Either way thanks for the amazing video you just gained another subscriber...oh yea, and I turned on my notifications.
Dickie yea it’s definitely a lot of fun, especially if you have people to play with. I really enjoyed going back and capturing footage for it. Turns out you have to beat doubles mode to unlock Donkey Kong JR so I had to do all that just for 5 seconds of footage!
Imo, Mario Golf Advance Tour and Mario Tennis Powet Tour are my best game for Mario Sport Series in GBA. The best part of both game is, you are allowed to allocate the EXP and this EXP system gives you a chance to play even more interesting challenge such as beating the game as Lv. 1 Single Category. I managed to play it with such a restriction and both games are beatable. For Mario Tennis Power Tour, playing it with that restrictions in Technical Difficulty is a nightmare but fun.
I miss the rpg story mode style too, the crossover between Golden Sun (with "real world" characters) and Mario Bros [which gave me the same sensation when I played Kingdom Hearts]; there's also the way of acquiring Power Shots by completing minigames until tou reach the requirements, and then you can select the ones you like, along with your stats that you build during the game, to improve your tennis playing style. For Mushroom Heavens' sake, Nintendo! How long will It take for the penny to freaking drop?? What made Mario Tennis really special?
Yeah, AND the same goes to Paper Mario series. You notice Nintendo Is pretty much experimentalistic with its games; either they come with new mechanics (sometimes even ending up creating a whole new franchise, which was Paper Mario's case), or just insist on changing things that are so perfect no one would want to change anything except for the graphics (which also was Paper Mario's case!).
@@daviemerim25 That's true, it seems like a lot of the time they only want to make a game if they're able to re-invent the wheel, when a lot of fans just want a really well made iteration of something they did well before. Paper Mario is a good example of how they expanded what was good about the original with Thousand Year Door, and then every game after has attempted to rethink the series.
Golf Story kindda scratched the itch for that RPG focused Mario Golf experience. But I still wonder how a Camelot game would turn out given the freedom to explore those elements again.
I don't know if I missed something, but I'm playing Power Tour for the first time and I'm loving it but I have no idea what I'm doing with the buttons. And there doesn't seem to be any Guide online about different shots. Any advice?
wariolandgoldpiramid I definitely like Power Tour more but that could just be because I like the tennis gameplay more than the golf. Both are great at their own style. If you’ve never played either type of game, Tennis is a little more action based while Golf feels like a turn based game
derek reed I like it a lot! Haven’t played the whole thing yet. Golf was never really my favorite tho so I’m more excited for the Sports Story sequel to see them try out different sports.

Bro I never agreed with someone more, I played both the Mario tennis RPG and I want the exact thing you said lol
this game is an absolute gem
Yooooooooo I loved this game :(((( I wish there was something else like it
Try Golf Story!
power tour is my favorite video game of all time
This is an extremely good video, thanks for making it!

Hey thanks that means a lot to me!! I had to take a bit of a break from making videos but I'm working on something new that I hope you'll like!!
Good review; thank you!
Man i loved mario tennis 64, although it never had anything like an rpg mode.

I love Mario tennis on gbc. The music is so good too. I hope the advance sequel is as good as you say. Subbed for the mutual Mario tennis love.
Really interesting video, you have the production quality of channels 1000x your size.
Thanks that's good to hear!

I just picked up Mario tennis for gbc and I’m in love. I’m going to pick up gba version as soon as I see it

Yea I'm really surprised that they didn't follow through with this one, AND that we haven't seen any other Mario sports RPGs since those old ones...

Which game would you recommend - Advance Tour or Power Tour?

I was just trying to explain to my girlfriend how great Mario Tennis on the Gameboy color was. Thanks for doing it for me ;P
Thoughts on Golf Story?
derek reed I like it a lot! Haven’t played the whole thing yet. Golf was never really my favorite tho so I’m more excited for the Sports Story sequel to see them try out different sports.
muchthink I dig the golf but I’m looking forward to that game too! The concept just owns
I love it. Game play is great. I love the fact you get to move around
Let’s hope Nintendo online will bring gb gbc and gba games to the switch and we’ll get power tour with online capabilities :)
I'm sorry you cannot talk about Camelot and not talk about the Golden Sun series.
