Loved this game as a kid. Only recently got the entire set of this game, the N64 game, and the transfer pak, and even with my story mode character with super-high stats, the tournaments on N64 are still really tough. Even though the Switch has more or less made console-handheld connectivity gimmicks obsolete by now, I miss this era of innovation.
I LOVED Mario Tennis GBC (and N64. And I had the transfer pak! I got the whole experience). The ability to create different unique builds on your characters was very cool, and while you could make characters with CRAZY spins, there was always a balancing effect on your other stats. I also think this is a prime example of early Nintendo-Camelot productions. They got the yes/no head bobbing animations, the character design diversity, AND the textbook Camelot beeplebeeplebeeps for spoken dialogue. It's fun to go from this to Golden Sun and see the same design ethos.
Hello Danny, love your videos here on the channel, I have one question about pro yakyu spirits. Do you know if it will come out on Nintendo switch? I’ve been searching everyone and I haven’t seen anything
Well if you have a Switch and Nintendo Switch Online, you can play it that way. If you have e the physical cart, I imagine most of the modern retro handhelds can play it. I don’t have any of them myself, so I can’t really help you there, though! - Danny
Great video man. I played alot of this game on 3DS VC. As much as I love the Switch, I do miss the days when Nintendo had a dedicated handheld. That's what I feel Nintendo was really best at. And being a handheld only guy, I really long for those days. I'd love to see a Mario Golf video from you too, if you have the time and/or desire! 🫡
This was probably the most played GBC games I remembered playing! The story mode really keeps you busy. Especially when you reach the Mushroom Kingdom
I started playing it on my Switch today and i found in really good right away! I didn’t play it back in the days but i am gonna do it now.
Right on! Glad to hear that you’re enjoying it! - Danny

I have never played this before, but I do have a copy of it sitting next to me right now that I intend to play at some point.
This looks really cool, you even got the Waluigi colored GameBoy 😂
How can I play this now? Loved this game. Any retro handhelds that can play it?
