Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience.
About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland.
Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.

Hi Zoey. Please don't follow Gabriel's list. He is attempting to take ownership of all Nightwish reactors and he does this to every new one he encounters. Please follow your own heart and find your own Nightwish songs. You do not need to be a clone of every other reactor.
@@donepearce nah, man: Gabriel's motivation isn't as ill-intended as you think it is... he's just fulfilling the Promise he made to Ann, to reach every reactor with her welcoming message. The "list" (I would rather call it a Menu) isn't totally of his own too: he changed and improved it several times according with other Nightwishians' requests to include this or that clip.
Again, when the reactor responds to his first message or make a shout-out to him in another video, Gabriel always replies and more than often takes that opportunity to underline that the list is just "a compass to navigate into Nightwish' ocean of music" and "it's not mandatory to follow".
Like you, I prefer reactors who go their own way (even if I have to admit, my guilty pleasure is the GLS / StoryTime / Ever Dream combo as first three songs, for the surprise effect of Marko's voice... LOL!🤣), but I don't "blame" Gabriel for providing a list: I prefer to advice other Nightwishians to use the words "choose from the list" instead of "follow the list".
I think this way should work better for everyone, no?

welcome to the fantastic symphonic metal universe of Nightwish Band, their live performances are some of the things that come so close to epic that they get to be mythical and of course Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music, she can sing anything in any musical style she wants (WARNING! her voice, her stage presence, her charisma, in one word: her "spell" is highly addictive).
this concert (wacken 2013) is incredibly epic and deserves to be watched and reacted entirely, song by song, in particular I suggest these three songs: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream"
this performance of "ghost love score" is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" from 2015 concert at the london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" from 2015 concert in tampere - finland (actually there is a fourth best performance: "dead boy's poem" from the 2018 concert in buenos aires).

Yeah! You go girl! You have to do your fingers in reverse (palms outwards instead of inwards) when you do the blessing 'bulls horn' sign. It was introduced by Ronnie James Dio. It's nice to see such a great reaction. When adding to your play list, make sure you add this live version. The original studio recording was, of course, very good, but it has a different singer and doesn't include the ending. Almost all songs are written by Tuomas including this one, but on the original it fades out. The final parts were added by Floor (the vocalist) who really made this song her own. Played now at every Nightwish concert. I am pleased to welcome you to the wonderful world of Nightwish from the UK Oldies Division (East Anglian branch) of Nightwish Army. As you delve deeper into their music (as I hope you will) you will find many diverse songs. Symphonic metal is the official genre, but you will find songs ranging from metal to ballads and even a jazz track. I have subscribed to your channel in the hope that you'll keep on watching and listening to Nightwish, especially their live recordings. I saw them live at Wembley in November 2022 and it was the most amazing unforgettable experience. To hear more from them, I suggest you follow Gabriel's list or pick and mix from it. I have followed Nightwish for some time now and all the compositions and musicianship never fail to please. Looking forward to your next reaction.

When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Floor joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. Here are some of my favourites: ‘Energize me’; Monolith of Doubt’ and Dreamflight’.
Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera).
'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song from full operatic to death growls in seconds. Here are some examples: ‘Misery’s no Crime’, ‘Wild card’ and ‘Disdain’.
Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour: ‘Please learn the setlist in 48 hours’
Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died is a must see.
Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on UA-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa’ and to see her in full opera mode, watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered UA-cam in these years. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish.
Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. Also videos of her solotour she did with songs of her impressive career. Her latest endeavour is her stunning solo album ‘My Paragon. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton), daughters Freja (turned 7 years this march) and Lucy (born last october) ,a couple of horses, dogs and cats, she found this.

Not the love of a ghost but the ghost of love past.
The story is summed up in the choral part while Floor sings "My fall will be for you".
At the beginning of the song that choral lyric is "If you be the one to cut me THEN I will bleed forever". By the end it changes to "You WERE the one to cut me, SO I'll bleed forever".
There is a lot going on in this song. Apart from something like 18 modulations, there are several distinct parts with different styles and time signatures not to mention rhythmic changes. And Floor changes her vocalisation frequently
There is a video on her YT channel in which she explains all the choices and variations she made in this performance. She made a lot of effort, particularly as she was only 10 months with the band at this point
The audience will have been quite taken back too, because that ending was a new one that she introduced only a few months before on the South American leg of the tour shortly after joining.
Tuomas, the composer and keyboardist, agreed it was a good change and it became iconic
Of the 82,000 people at this concert, not many would have heard that new ending and so would not have expected it.
There's a lot more Nightwish to discover but don't expect a repeat of this because every song has something new to offer. You never know what you are going to get with a new Nightwish song. That's one of the marks if Tuomas' genius - and he IS a genius.

Un coucou de l'armée NIGHTWISH de France, avec un peu de retard très bonne réaction et analyse à l'écoute du plus grand groupe du monde pour ma part. Vous venez de faire connaissance du métal symphonique et de notre reine Floor, mais vous n'avez qu'effleuré le dessus de l'iceberg et vous n'êtes qu'a l'entrée du terrier de lapin. Je vous souhaite de bons floorgasmes et continuez vos réactions nous serons toujours derrière vous pour vous soutenir pour notre groupe...... Encore plus d'écoutes s'il vous plait...... Merci. Continuez sur le festival du Wacken Open Air 2013, vous êtes sur de ne pas vous tromper, les quinze chansons du set sont des classiques pour tous les fans du groupe et sont à écouter absolument. Vous venez d'écouter la 13ème chanson du set, ensuite faites le Ever Dream qui commence comme une douce ballade voix piano et sur un signe de Marko ( le bassiste ) continue d'accélérer pour finir comme un train à grande vitesse, puis essayez une petite histoire avec Storytime, excellent rock qui reste longtemps en tête ou alors du plus lourd avec Ghost River pour entendre le mélange des voix de Floor avec Marko ou encore plus lourd avec Romanticide..... Et je pense que notre ami Gabriel Bardac devait arriver sous peu, ou être déjà passé ( Un grand MERCI à Gabriel d'avoir repris le flambeau de notre regrettée Anne ) cliquez sur son nom et allez sur communauté, vous pourrez suivre sa liste en toute confiance avec les meilleurs mixages à la bonne vitesse et avec le meilleur audio mais ce n'est pas une obligation, juste un sage conseil pour entendre une petite partie du meilleur du groupe. Continuez les filets du groupe sont tendus et il vous sera très difficile de vous en sortir, plus de NIGHTWISH s'il vous plait et bienvenu à vous...... Love your enthusiastic reaction, I have subcribed to your channel. Floor Jansen is one of the most versatile todays singers - she can sing all from opera (watch "O mio babbino caro" by Puccini) to death metal growls ("Yours is an empty hope" Wembley 2015 or "Disdain" with her former band ReVamp Graspop 2010) and all between. By the way, I often need tissues when listening to Nightwish videos and I am 66 now. Greetings from Germany.

Great reaction Zoey Zo welcome to Nightwish. This was song 13 of 15 at this concert. The band and Floor had been rocking,headbanging, etc for an hour and 10 before GLS, and two songs after.
