    Chaos is a ladder. Littlefinger didn't care how many people died due to the chaos he created. He only cared about how far up the ladder the chaos boosted him. Definitely evil.

    It was so unnecessary for Summer to die. He's a giant dire wolf and should have been pulling Bran. Dogs were used for thousands of years for that very purpose and yet they had a 100 pound girl pull bran away instead.

      Each direwolf represents the soul of its owner and the connections in the family. They are the embodyment of the very essence of the Stark children. Lady got killed - Sansa lost her awareness. Nymeria became a solo killer after the hard years. Grey Wind, Shaggydog, Ghost, Summer, each one of them grew close to the child. Or did the child grow close to the direwolf? Decide it Yourself.
      Summers death was necessary because it represents Brans final transformation from Stark to the Three Eyed Raven.

    Wow it's refreshing to read comments on UA-cam where whether people agree or disagree with you, there's no disrespect, discrimination, labelling and hate. People are literally sharing their opinions and insight for the purpose of sharing, not judgement. • @iSOBigD
      @iSOBigD 6 років тому +4

      I feel like GoT's timeline is cyclical and will repeat just in the stories they told originally. The White walkers can't be mindless evil things, I'm sure they have a reason for being (maybe to cut down the human population), and in the end they have to somehow strike up a deal with the humans so neither overwhelms the other side forever...I'm looking forward to seeing how that happens

  • @gutspraygore
    @gutspraygore 6 років тому +100

    I think calling them children is another way that Martin redirects his thematic focus. The attitude of the children is less childlike and more elderly while the actions of the men are those more like those of actual children... and possibly not unlike the children of the forest themselves, at a certain point in their existence.
    The children of the forest had their time along with their contemporaries and there is a new generation fulfilling their own wills. The eons ultimately had not made a difference.

      @@RLSteffler I never said I'd put Tywin at ten or even nine I said I'd put Joffery or Cersei at ten . The reason I don't put Ramsey at ten is that he isn't smart enough to plan for the eventual response to his tactics. Look at what happened to Calligula killed by his own praetorian guard. Ramsey simply is obsessed with doing what he wants to do regardless of how it'll effect his leverage over his powerbase thusly thwarting himself in the process.

      Perhaps just like how Bridge4 said in the video about Arya and the many faced god’s illusions (Mance being burned at the stake could have been an illusion - unless I interpreted that wrong) Shireen’s death might have been an illusion.

      That's not how it works lol being undead is like almost like being mind-controlled I think, your soul becomes enslaved to the Night's King. If you wanna be like Benjen (from the show, the half-undead half-man guy who rides around on a large horse and wields a fiery ball and chain) it's explained that in his case he was on his way to being a white walker himself but the children of the forest found him in the nick of time and administered something that would stop the progression of his turning but couldn't completely reverse it, so as long as you have a child from the forest on standby ready to help you do that then great. Benjen was so badass, I wish they did more with his character (and who knows, maybe they will)

    Two of the most impacting deaths on GoT's show series to me that still hits me when I see them again... Hodor, and definitely Shireen. Saddened me to see these two go. That passage by Leaf that you explained too, the show "Avatar" came to mind in that we're destroying everything around us to where all animals, trees, everything we know, will soon be gone. Awesome narrative again bridge4, love hearing your videos and theories, keep 'em coming!

    *to be clear*
    I think the "children are evil" theories are completely outlandish. They go against the biggest theme of the story, which is about creating a better world for children. And tearing down the walls between ones own "team," and "the other's." (Whether that be men and singers, nights watch and freefolk, bigoted followers of rhllor and everyone else, sexual preference, gender orientation, and gender descrimination) and men (living) vs white walkers (presumably living)
    Since their selflessness is so blatant, i didnt want to be captain obvious with: "they protected bran here, here, and here." So I jokingly said the opposite of what happened for those 4 or five events in and around the cave. Then ended it with grey worm saying "I made joke."
    Originally I had my own vocals saying, "I'm kidding." It was clearer that way. Apologies for any misunderstanding
    ------
    *A lot of good stuff in the pipeline!!*
    Sad video next. Then the new, wild idea I came up with last week. Then the real Arya vs Mountain video. Maybe some other easy video squeezed in between some of those though.
    I couldn't sleep last night. So I pulled an all nighter. Waiting another hour, making this public, then finally going to bed lol

    I think that "evil scale" you used at the end was very wrong. The whole thing about ASOIAF is that there is no good or evil, everything is in between, with variation, but there are always good reasons on both sides of a conflict. Shireen was innocent, but also naïve, she would've made bad decisions, so you could call her potential evil, and Tywin did everything for the good of his family over his own, and he held balance and order in high regard, I think his motivations are very pure.

    • @arandomnamegoeshere
      @arandomnamegoeshere 6 років тому +9

      I'm going to guess that the evil scale was a bit tongue-in-cheek. The "scale" is set up but the measure of "how evil" given doesn't match that scale. Artistic!

    I love how tragic this is and how it can even apply to our own world and humanity. Beings and creatures who were around thousands of years before men and part of nature, now destroyed and forced away by men’s own hand and ignorance. George is absolutely brilliant

      Wassoll Das to each their own. I meant creatures like the unicorns, Giants, and Children were drove out and in the show went existent due to men coming over to Westeros. Interrupting nature’s balance and causing war by their pillage of the land and cutting down sacred trees for their own benefit. Kinda like what’s happening in today’s world with global warming, our oceans, and our forest. It’s all being carelessly destroyed due to our own oftentimes selfish needs regardless of the impact and consequences. I wouldn’t say man is nature’s true pride. We only see ourselves that way and everything that isn’t us, is somehow below us and this causes such a twisted mindset. We as men are supposedly the “smartest” of creatures yet don’t even care what we are doing to our own environment even though it’s our only home. We strive for more, more, more. Nature can be ugly, there’s no doubt. But it is also far more beautiful and it all works together in a balance I can respect. It at least corrects itself from time to time and I can’t say the same for mankind. I could be interpreting not as George intended, but it’s fun to speculate.

    I found it interesting when I am re-watching Season 6 how they definitely have a focus on children and sweet candy, alcohol and men, and the little birds that Varys has in King’s Landing and Meereen. It makes the phrase “candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker” seem more real. Apparently, it was called “Reflections on Ice Breaking” by Ogden Nash.

    GOT has an intricate message of environmental protection. A true eye-opener indeed, which goes without saying the beautiful portrayal of men , so self obsessed with their petty lives, dwarfed by their own intellect, realize it too late when nature runs it's course to set things right.
