Just finding out after my house fire that the cleaning restoration company is after our entire check. We won't even be able to replace our appliances after paying them. So HEADS UP to you all!
I am sorry that they are doing that to you. Thanks for being willing to help others through your experience.
experiencing that right now, and they are not professional or nice to deal with. It’s like dealing with used car salesmen, very slimy
Great advice for many situations always get everything in writing.
Thanks for the help. Our house fire was 2.5 weeks ago!
I am so sorry for your loss and for the frustration you have ahead. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Thank, you for taking the time Making this video. Hello to your babie, we recently experienced a house fire Oct 21st 2023 still in a rental property. My question for you did your premium went up
The whole process of dealing with insurance and the cleaning/restoration companies is a total nightmare. Lies, manipulation, inflation of costs...and no one looks out for the person who's lost their home. Sadly, it is possible to be all alone in this.
Hi good advices
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
I just came home from work today to a fire that happened. The smoke damage was the worst part.
It was a blessing my dogs survived.
I pray that State Farm will take care of me here in Texas.
My home did not burn all the way down. It was the smoke that destroyed nearly everything.
With that said, how and what do I let go of? Meaning, what do I save and trash?
I am sorry. It is amazing what smoke can do.
I would definitely ask insurance what you are expected to keep. I would keep the bare minimum, personally. Smoke is so hard to get out and all the junk that is in the smoke is not good for your health.
, Thank You 🙏🏼☝🏻
Thank you so much for making this video, We had a house fire a week ago and are now trying to navigate all of this. We are dealing with a fire disaster company who seems to have a person for every part of this journey from cataloging our belongs inside the house to rebuilding it. Now that the dust is settling (pardon the pun) and we have signed some contracts with them we are a little nervous as to weather we had made the right decision. They are now wanting us to sign a contract for them to be the contractor. I have hesitations and want to slow it down a little so we can think before we dive into their full services. Any advise? I saw in a comment above that you have a facebook group, what is this name of it, I would like to join.
I think you may have just joined the Facebook group. If not, let me know. If not, let me know. We are there to answer any questions no matter how big or small.

We had a fire 2 weeks ago and are now faced with doing inventory or hiring a public adjuster. What are your thoughts on a public adjuster?
Hey I am so sorry for your loss. I think it all depends on if you have more time or more money. Inventory take A LOT of time, but isn't impossible. But if you don't have the time to put into it, then maybe something to consider.
Thanks for sharing. I do have a question could you go immediately to a hotel after you event and insurance would reimburse you?
Should be able to for at least a few nights. You would have to run it by insurance to see how long they would let you stay there. Let me know if I can try to answer any other questions.
Hey everyone. I just lost my house to fire Sunday night after lightning storm. Going through the beginning.
Hey! I am so sorry for your loss. Let me know if you have any questions as you go through the process. Also, feel free to join my Facebook group where you can ask questions as well.
Would you encourage someone to hire a company to help you itemize everything you own?
I guess there are some options to consider. Is your house still standing that they could get in to see things? If not, I don't know how someone else could recreate it.
Also, depending on time versus money. Or trauma and stress that it may bring. Personally I wouldn't, but I didn't mind going back into the house to pull things out and take pictures. But if time is a constraint, it isn't super expensive, or you aren't able to go back in, then it wouldn't be a bad thing. I know that isn't super helpful, but just trying to help you figure out what is best for you.
If you are interested in joining my Facebook group for insurance questions, you can ask people cover there their thoughts as well.
I am sorry for your loss and for the stress it causes.
We are doing that now with our total loss.
Does anyone know about fire claims in canada,my dad who is 67 and is disabled, lost his home and the insurance denied his claim.
What was the reason they gave for denying his claim?
@@drivensaver7926 becuz he had no pictures of house and insurance was bought April of following year and the insurance never came to take pictures or anything they said becuz of covid they would be around eventually, we just finished a huge addition on the house and they never came
@@aidenprintup4547 do you have anything like the department of insurance there? Is there an agent you can call and talk to?
@@drivensaver7926 I am not sure, I was told by a lawyer that I need a lawyer and the one I spoke to was busy and didn't have the time for my case, I am close to montreal and was told to find and lawyer from outside the city.and this has proven almost impossible as I have left multiple messages and not one single return call .
I am in Canada.
My kitchen caught on fire 2/5 .2022 . My insurance adjuster came came in within 2 hours of my claim.
