    The thing I like to use the slingshot for is overcoming the mental hurdle of pressing a new weight. It lets you feel how it will be when you unrack and part of the way down. So it’s like dipping your toes in.

    Cheap magnetic tractor hitch pins are best because you can clip stuff to them. I use pulleys for a ton of cable exercises and clipping to my hitch pins gives me a lot of fast positions for the pulley.

    If you want to mimic the belt squat with a functional trainer you can use a dip belt rather than having to buy that contraption.

      He didn’t show the intended way to use it. It has 2 connector straps so that you can load both cable stacks on a functional trainer. It can also load trap bars, straight bars, resistance bands, and more. When using it correctly, it feels a lot more natural than using a belt squat and has a similar safety profile despite the fact that the whole body is loaded

    i got my mad spotters on sale for $40 and ended up hurting myself with it after missing a heavy rerack. I've also tried dropping the dumbells with it and it just felt awkward. The long metal rods just hits the floor at an angle first before letting go of the weight. I liked the idea of the dumbbell hooks. I have trouble getting heavy weights into place for shoulder presses because I am not good at the knee flick technique, but I went a cheaper route. I just grabbed some chain and have my dumbbells hang about shoulder level. Basically 4 short chains, 2 per dumbbell at either side of the grip, attached to the top bar on my cage. Hang them and the position my incline bench in between for a seated press. With the chains i can go to failure and know i don't have to complete a rep in order to rerack. I can just lower the weight and let it hang. The downside is you are starting the press from the bottom position, and you dont have the benefit of having descended the weight under muscle tension. So the first rep is always off a bit. But it was cheap and effective, and allows you to go to failure.

    How do you attach the squat harness to the vitruvian? @ 7:03

    • @CoachRosenblatt
      @CoachRosenblatt 3 місяці тому +1

      The loading straps for the newer squat harnesses have open hooks that connect to the cables. You can load both cables or just 1 with both straps

    Why would i choose to get the versagrips over a standard figure 6 or similar style lifting strap?

    • @noaholdham7307
      @noaholdham7307 3 місяці тому +1

      Those are easier to use but the regular straps are so much cheaper that versagrips wouldn’t be worth it to me. I don’t mind regular straps for how little I use them.

      I love them for deadlifts. They allow you to grip the bar much quicker than regular straps.

    I have been using an earlier version of mad spotter for about six years on my smith machine bar since I work out alone. I've liked these things from day one. Nothing out there is perfect, and you'll always have the whiners crying about anything. After adapting to these I never lift alone without them!
