It's actually part of the foam task force and part of hazmat. It's basic purpose is for the refinery, airports fuel farms etc. It carries 1000 gallons of foam concentrate. It can be special called for just about anything if needed.
Two part question, what is the pouch the FF's are carrying on the right side? I know it's probably not but it kind of reminds me of an Ipad holder similar to what I've seen EMS carry. Also, how often does this unit get called into service?
Its part of the foam task force. It can also be special called as needed. A guess would put it around 2 dozen times a year. It has a few other special boxes its assigned to also, like the 2 airport crash boxes.
Thanks for showing this response 😊❤😊 I wish in my humble opinion the crew guys had an ORANGE VEST and a small STOP/ SLOW paddle one that can easily fit in crew cab. Just saying, wish the crew guys could act as a FLAGLER with the STOP sign. I fell for the crew stopping heavy traffic in front of the station. I just want them to be SAFE. 😊 the Engines Put a STOP sign on crew cab DOORS, why can't FDNY get the handheld STOP/ SLOW signs. If the Rig crew can personally BUY Federal " Q" s For rigs. BUY a hand-held paddle. I do see other engine STOPS traffic. I'm just asking the question to all great FDNY crews. Be SAFE out in traffic. The drivers do not care about your response like they use to YELD to you in the past.
No. Its actually cross manned by Eng 260. The Super Pumper is at Eng 238s firehouse because 260s bay floors wont support it. So Eng 238s foam unit is at 260 and the super pumper is at 238 for the time being. Eventually itll go to 260 permanently.
@@rcl3514 We have the same problem in Philly like NYC a lot of older stations with basements below the apparatus bay that the floors can't support the weight of newer apparatus for us it's typically the new tiller ladders or new tower ladders
Note, they take their time due to the trucks have to warm up, and then moving them takings a while because the apparatus is thousands of pounds heavy. But once they get moving they get to a good speed going to calls so I don't know why you complaining
You are the first one to record SP1 responding to its first call since put in service. Wonderful. Congrats!
It responded to the fire in the DOT garage a while back
@@benstevens3467 and never got used just like this call never got used I saw the fire
as far as I'm concerned it was a waste of money
I think he not the only one there is other guys that we don't know who record first but imma say this guy is probably not the first one.
@@benstevens3467 and wasn't used at that fire either just like the tire shop waste of tax dollars

Nice to see the new one...
I miss the old two piece system...
That thing looks absolutely massive next to that old Engine 518 there.
That old seagrave in the back 😍
Great Catch Tommy!

awesome catch
I AM liking the video of the fire department response
The rumbler matching with the Q sounds kinda creepy.
What is the function of a super pumper? Pumping high pressures into high-rises?
More GPM pump for industrial fires or multiple alarms, but rarely used.

Nice truck
Great video btw
They take good care of it.
because it's never used
Not too bright walking in front of the engine. Always cool to see new toys...
Why didn't they station it where the original super pumper was
The fdny super pumper whoa 😳 😮😮❤❤❤❤❤ 1:58
Is the super pumper actually housed here is is it just housed here temporarily
Temporary it will be at 260.
@@SkylerFire ok thanks
What Is a super pumper as I'm have never heard of it
Probably too less time to get to the station then to pull the pumper out.
Sure took a long time to roll
Word!
I would be dead honestly
About the same amount of time it took to harness up the horses in the bygone days.
Great catch. Is this rig staffed 24/7?

@@rcl3514 thank your for the information. I’m from Texas near Dallas and yes I think FDNY is the greatest department in the world.

They need to find a better house if it can't even get out the door!
I've seen faster response from my local volunteer fire department after watching this I understand why they have a class 1 ISO rating
Never look like they are in any hurry at all.
Word!
Great catch I saw Mask services about 2 Hours ago on Rockaway Blvd in Lawrence LI it was going the Opposite way I was I wanted to get a picture.....🚒
Young Gary Johnson Jennifer Taylor George
Johnson Jose Smith John Miller Helen
No hurry fellas, it’s only a drive around the block to keep the fluids moving

that is bs
Let me take a nap while they get ready to go to an emergency. Disgraceful to the fire service!!
distance engine 260 from queens to engine 238 ladder 106 firehouse to get a super pumper is at least 10 minutes
Been a full time firefighter for many years, and have never run to the truck even once….
What a bunch of clowns
