it's always amazed me that both dispatchers, and personnel in the field say "ok" or "kay" at the end of their radio transmissions....such an FDNY thing..
I’m surprised how little attention the house to the right of the involved house is receiving. There is obvious smoke coming from the eaves and it doesn’t appear that anyone has made entry into that house to check for extension 10 minutes into the video.
That’s because the first alarm units had more than their hands full considering the amount of fire, the roof collapse and accounting for the members after the collapse
@@mikeanderson1330 A chief reported over the radio that the building had been under renovation/construction and was completely "open". I'm pretty sure he meant that the framing was wide open as you speculated.

I dont know why? these trucks dont have a high pressure nozzle on the front, that as soon as they roll up can be turned on have water spray into areas burning, instead of wasting time
Why does FDNY have such a Shitty Fast Spreading Fire S.O.P.? The first engine stops and limits aerial ladder access in Side A for first due truck and then they only drop small diameter hose lines that take 5 minutes to charge before they open the nozzle to protect the exposure on the Delta side. Why doesn't the first due Engine pull past the Side A sector so the first truck has FULL UNOBSTRUCTED ACCESS to the front of the main fire building? In Chicago the first engine Drops Two 2-1/2" lines to cover the Side B and Side D exposures and sends tank water at once. Chief Hughes Battalion 1 (retired) Chicago FD
Sure thing, I'm just wondering when FDNY is going to take their On. This is the 2nd fire posted to UA-cam in recent months where we see FDNY blew it because they didn't drop exposure lines during initial attact on a fast spreading fire.
Chief, the building exploded, it didn’t just expand, and the guys were getting hammered with mayhem and quite literally debris for the first few minutes while everyone got a size up and was figuring out what the hell was going on. The first truck was a tower ladder so it can only commit to the 2 side or the 4 side. The 1st due engine left plenty of space for the tower ladder to move up and have the 4 side if need be. Plus, if the engine was any further up, they would not have had any angle for their deck gun that helped prevent further exposure to 4A
Just means they don’t have it under control yet. Probably will hold is next they give that when the main body of fire is extinguished and there’s no extension to other parts of the building or adjoining buildings and then the under control is given when they’re positive everything is extinguished and all searches are completed.
The Firefighter Assist and Search Team does not participate to the intervention, it is dedicated to the search and rescue of other firefighters in distress. The third truck is usually assigned a FAST.
nice video and great job by NYFD. one thing that really pisses me off is the commentary at the bottom of the screen. drop that crappy blinking lead in and fade out and just display the commentary. and remember, some of us people read slow, so leave it up for a few more seconds. thank you

Is it just me but the FDNY is getting pretty slow with putting water on the fire. I see even vollies on Long Island getting water in the fire a lot faster than this.
Without actually being there we cannot be aware of any extenuating circumstances which may have impeded the rapid application of water. Many things can do this.
Los Angeles County's on fire.We think there's arson going on and people are just lighting fires. Were very concerned what the fuck is going on around here
I grew up in LA and these fires will always happen at this time of the year even without arson. What doesn't help though is the number of crazy people making things worse by lighting even more of them.
It means they’re loading up the box and giving a fourth engine, a squad, and a rescue because they’re assuming it’s going to be a confirmed fire based on the quality and quantity of phone calls to the dispatch office

Great video and synchronized with Brooklyn dispatch. Great job. And thanks for no unnecessary yapping.

I would argue that bravo and delta exposures are similar detached as opposed to the 6’ wide driveways 🤷🏻♂️

Probably no drywall or plaster on interior walls or ceilings. Framing wide open. all the way to the roof. Just a guess.

Because we do an aggressive interior attack. My grandmother can stay outside and flow water
The trucks do t have water or pumps. only the engine carry water

I wonder the same thing. Also, the exposure report was dead wrong. Driveways??
In this part of Brooklyn, it is written as East Fourth St.
Why do buildings under construction so often light up?
In this case, someone was cutting with a torch. And the fact that it was windy did not help.
Carelessness....

That first due Ecc is doing some good work with the deck gun
Fantastic job!
Wh t does "remains doubtful" mean? I hear that on some of the firefighter communications.
Doubtful to hold with the unit that are on scene.
Means the fire is not under control and can escalate to a higher alarm. Doubtful will hold usually indicates it will go to the next available alarm.
