What would you save LOL ? Nick Stellino........ " save the braciole ! " 😀 Good vid ! Got a pair of Thursdays, Love 'em ! More comfortable to me than my Wolverine 1000 mi. boots.
I can’t agree with you more, I’ve been wearing 3 pairs of RM Williams boots for 14 years. I rotate them through my weekly wear. Pay a bit more but it will save you over the long term.
I got sick of my sneakers falling apart and looking like shit after only 6 months of use, with regular care and cleaning. It’s almost like there’s a certain 300 billion dollar company that wants my money every 500 miles… So I got some Chukkas and Mid-Ankle Dress Boots on the cheap. Clarks has some crazy discounts in-store. Let’s see if these boots can make it a year while still looking alright. If they die around then, it’s ok, I’ll get newer, cooler boots.
Well, I love the look of boots especially with jeans! I even bought two pairs of Allen Edmonds boots this past year (brown Dalton and black Long Branch) that I've been wearing quite a lot! I also like to wear side-zip Beatle-style, cowboy, and motorcycle boots as well!
My views on boots. North American bootmakers make the best looking field/service origin boots like Viberg, Oakstreet or Wolverine. The best looking hunting/farming originated boots come from UK like Crockett & Jones or Edward Green. If you look the most beautiful dress boots go to Italian or other European artisans (e.g. Paolo Scafora, Enzo Bonafe, Saint Crispins). How do you see Antonio?
Just got some Thursday Captains. So far so good. As many other people have said, the toe box is pretty snug. That's true for me, even though I have pretty narrow feet. I followed Thursday's advice of sizing down a half size from my sneaker size, but I considered exchanging for my sneaker size because of the snug toe box. Ultimately, I didn't exchange because I'm expecting some stretching from break-in and I don't want the next half size up to slip in the heel (which has been an issue for me with some dress shoes). All that to say that you may not want to size down from your sneaker size because of the sleek toe box.
Once you go boots, you can never go shoes! I'm working as a musician in a music store, so people around me wears Converse or Vans, and other sneakers like Nike, Puma, Adidas. So me, wearing boots makes myself stands out compared to others. And like Antonio said, I love the height on the boots, and protects my legs when i'm inside the warehouse while organizing boxes of instruments when the shipment came. Currently got my eyes on Nick's Boots. Hope i could get a pair one day
Antonio. Under your advice I’ve purchased several different shoes and one pair of dowler boots from Becket Simonon. I could not be happier with my purchase and I love the way they wear. Thank you
Well done! For me, protection is the best thing about boots. Also, styles with a side zipper are even easier to take on and off at TSA than slip-on shoes.
Me too man I’m hoping to get two more as my next purchase, my first boots I ever got was from them a month ago I’m only gonna but from them lol affordable and durable quality
I have a pair of boots from this company tht you mentioning in this video and the boots are really good but honestly not for the prize of $200, sorry but the boots are overpriced. If I'm gonna spend $ 200 I think there are better options and quality like Chippewa, Red wing, L.L Bean, Timberland, Clark's, Allen Edmonds, Ariat ect
Antonio which pair of Thursday boots are your favorite? I recently bought the Vanguards in burnt copper and they are beautiful. I also just ordered the Cavalier chelsea boots in the shadow grey and can’t wait to get them
i'm a big fan of boots. Except the kind with a zip on the side. I have a pair which I used to wear. But the zip takes a lot away from the rugged quality. Makes them kind of look like women's shoes Here's a tip too. Get a good pair of elevator boots. Just moderately raised above normal boot height. Not for the height boost as such but to extend your leg length in comparison to your torso length. It also makes you look leaner and really seems to get women's attention
Another great video!! What are your thoughts on wearing boots with shorts as I like that style but most people wear sneakers? Also, what socks would one wear if pairing boots with shorts?
I used to wear army boots with cargo shorts. You can also do a Timberland boot or from Thursday boots, the longer. Unusual look but I’m sure you can pull it off.
AGREE dressshoes are so overrated. Best thing is DRESSBOOTS they are moore versetile. Even my mother in lay complemented me on them, even with a suit. Thin shoelaces Loake 1880 black pimlicco chukkas, in the autum works much better then some low oxford or derbys.
I think you May have made a goof, in calling the boot at the end a scout boot, currently on their website it's called a Cadet boot, where the scout is Thursday's chukka boot. But this comment is coming from a couple years after this video came out so maybe at the time of the video releasing that's what they called it 🤷🏻♂️😄
I think every guy needs at least 4 pairs of shoes. He needs a pair of black oxford shoes, a pair of boots, a pair of sneakers, and a pair of memory foam indoor/outdoor slippers (I love those things). If I could only save one then I'm saving the boots because they're my most expensive.
Nothing about western style boots; positive or negative. I would have liked to have heard an opinion either way, though truthfully I'm a bit beyond caring what others think of my style. I'm comfortable in my own skin and not looking to impress the ladies. 👍
Good video. While I can concur with the points made, I must nevertheless respectfully disagree when it comes to boots being better than shoes. While I have/do own boots, I am ultimately a shoe person. Boots may look impressive, but they put unwanted pressure on your feet. From a purely orthopedic perspective, the human foot is at its best when barefoot/in sandals. Shoes, rather than boots, are far more readily accepted in society as the go to form of footwear. I would have second thoughts attending a formal event in boots, simply because they are not shoes. Shoes are lighter, which, as I said, puts less pressure on the feet. Then again, I live in a climate where the winters are mild and the summers are unbearably humid. Perhaps not the best environment for wearing boots, but rather stylish shoes.
I'm in Switzerland and I can't remember when I saw the last time someone wearing cowboy boots here. No one wears them here. So I always stick out with my black cowboy boots with phyton inlays.
Which style of boot should I buy? Soon I'm moving to a place where it rains often so which would be the most versatile? That is a boot that I could dress up or down as well? What would you recommend?
Boots all the way, I have two pairs of shoes I hardly ever wear. Buti have a dozen or more pairs of boots (the oddest are 30 years old) that I wear every day.
Suede Chukkas you can wear year round? or do boots seem out of place when the weather is hot? Sorry if I missed it in the video. Fantastic work as always!
You can definitely wear boots year round, as long as your feet don't get uncomfortably hot where you live. The only real rule is that, since boots are more casual by nature, don't wear them with a suit or anything formal like that. You don't want to be that guy.
@@jeremyt2212 Absolutely true I've never been a boots guy really so I want to try it out. I've always worn sneakers and casual shoes and always looked pretty good don't mean to brag sorry haha! I think I'll try out a suede and wear with my lightweight cotton dress socks since I dont think invisible socks would look decent with boots but that's just me let me know what you think. Amazing what a bit of maintenance can do even on a pair of $60 boots
I am an older athlete. I have giant calves. Boots are horrible for me. I don't need or want ankle support - in fact, the worst ankle injuries I had were worsened because I was wearing high-tops at the time. Once your ankle goes past a certain point, the boots/high-tops actually put pressure on your fibulas, making a hairline ankle fracture MORE likely. Never again, for me. I literally could not disagree more, but there is nothing wrong with the style from a style-based perspective. It's just not MY style. I don't like the look, or my pant leg catching on the edge of the boot when I sit and stand. Hard pass here, but you do you.

Agreed!
But also learn to tie your shoes. I have a video so you can do it in less than 5 minutes.

I love the Chelsea because I can get them on without passing out because I’m bending over. Or is that because I’m the size of a Warehouse.
