I've watched a lot of shoe restorations on UA-cam but this is the best I've ever seen. This guy should be in Italy working for a top of the line bespoke atelier.
Awesome result 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Old shoes are just like old furniture…in the hands of those who know how to restore them properly, there’s heaps of life and use still left in them!!!
Some folks has the nerves to says the this artist is wasting his time but I ask them when did they ever create something from nothing as the man did, he did the whole process by hand with very little use of machinery and even those are antiques that can't be duplicated. Its crazy that one person can see this video and see this craftsman and artist produce a work of art and or give new life to something we privileged would throw away or dismiss as junk or trash and make it beautiful to me that is narrow minded and short sighted and they missed the whole point of the video.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I couldn’t agree more. I can tell from the video that they are based in a developing country with very limited resources. These sort of jobs are done by people who get cheap shoes and get them repaired and the repair person will also charge very little. Both being sustainable and helping each other. These people work so hard to earn an honest living in situations where desperation to feed their family is far to great, yet they do their best and out their heart and soul into their work. For someone who just buys a new pair its easy to say that its a waste of time but people in the lowest earning brackets they get to repair their shoes and for people like this craftsman they get work
@@IjazPir No its not true the fact is that the shoes which we repair was not cheap it was very expensive here the fact is that when a person finds comfortability in some shoes then he don’t want to lose those shoes because new shoes take time to adjust as well as user also disturb with new shoes because new shoes are less comfortable then older one its true that new is new and older one is older but new shoes take time to adjust according to user foots so why people don’t want to be disturb so they prioritise older one to repair yet this is also true in some of countries and areas peoples with low income bracket can’t buy new shoes but these persons who own this shoes is not from that bracket and yet there is no minor charges of repairing old shoes there charges same as like to buy a new one On the other hand the purpose of repairing this shoes and making its video is to teach that nothing is crap in life everything can be turn into good if we give some time to that things as well as to represent the talent of craft man to show that if he can make a older shoes to looks like a new so what will his new make shoes will looks like And this was not the waste of time we charged for repairing and owner paid it and like to have his older shoes to looks like new so that he can use it again And we don’t repair cheap shoes because actually that shoes are the waste of time instead of these branded shoes I hope that you will be agree with me after this message By the way thanks for your comment and to represent your thoughts we value peoples like you who share their thoughts with us.
Thanks for informing me. The video took me back to my childhood in Pakistan when I saw cobblers repairing shoes and I would stand there in amazement. Sorry for being presumptuous.
This gentleman is far more than a craftsman, he is a real artist. His attention to the minor details, his expertise cutting the materials, he even uses his feet to hold things, I have never seen anyone this accomplished at this type of work, and I very much doubt I will ever see someone like him, I truly admire him and his art, I can't take my eyes away from the screen when I watch his videos, it's mesmerizing! 😲
Congratulations great job , you made the old boots a new one, much better than old color and creat classic social shoes !!! Thank you for sharing your job! 🇧🇷
Hats off to the Craftsman. I don't know why his face remain hidden. Handy Craftsman like him should be working somewhere in Japan and further polishing his skills in the handmade shoe designer. Wao.

I have experience applying dark shoe cream on light brown leather shoes. While the result was pretty good, when I wore the shoes, the creases will keep showing the lighter color. No matter how much I apply another layer of dark brown shoe cream, the light brown creases would still appear which made it ugly.
DIGAMOS QUE FICOU UM TRABALHO INCRÍVEL DE RECUPERAÇÃO DO CALÇADO E O TORNOU UM DESING ESPECIAL E ÍMPAR. PORÉM EXIGE UM PROCESSO BEM ÁRDUO E DEMORADO, MINHA NOSSA!. PARABÉNS AESSES ARTESÃOS👏✨!
No doubt that Pakistanis craftsmanship is excellent in every field, with bare hands and minimal tools they do wonders. India was cool too with its craftsmanship but its is losing it fast with the advent of machined goods. Sad !
His process is different in many ways than cordwaining I'm familiar with. What was the green material used for the heel block? What was the shank adhered to? It looks like the shank was attached to a leather footbed and then covered with some kind of foam? No cork was used, no gemming was used, nothing was used to keep the shank in place that I could see except a little glue. The application of contact adhesive with a finger blows me away - hope that doesn't result in cancer. His skiving knife must be as sharp as a surgical scalpel the way he was cutting with it. Very interesting expert technique particularly the wax job applying heat all over before brushing the wax in. A LOT could be learned from this gentleman. I have a lot of questions about this.

Unless labor is very cheap, the cost of repairing these shoes would be the same as ordering a pair of custom-made high-end shoes.
The thing is, he took trash and made it beautiful, and all by hand yea you could buy high-end boots, but they are mass produced.
Something tells me that labor is probably very cheap and custom made high end shoes are hard to come by.
Art is much more worthy, though. Priceless
is it Indian or Pakistani ? he is just wow. western shoe makers use so many facilities & they're high paid from this south Asian crafter .
