Not that anyone asked, but I recently bought a pair of L.L. Bean insulated boots that have the fleece lining. I was hesitant on getting them at first because of the price, but now that I've had them I can honestly say they are so worth the money. I hated the look of duck boots for a while but they have grown on me immensely. Rugged, yet preppy. Timeless.
A note about Logging Boots (and any other work boot): if you're wearing them in the heavy industries (logging, welding, carpentry, &c), make sure they have steel toes. Especially for logging, you don't want a log, chainsaw, or axe to rearrange your little piggies! (Honestly, I have no idea how companies market boots as "loggers" without steel toes, or any toe reinforcement, for that matter.) It's also important for Logging Boots to have a high shaft, as it will protect the ankles and legs from breaking during a fall. A couple of years ago, I was walking through one of my family's Douglas Fir plantations in a pair of ankle-high boots, took a spill, and ended up breaking my Tibia just above my ankle. Had I been wearing my logging boots, I wouldn't have broken my leg.
I know that what you showed is technically a harness boot but when I personally think of a harness boot, I think of something more rugged looking. like the Frye harness boots with the snip toe.
Antonio, I have two pairs of Thursday boots - one chukka and one called the Captain. Both are serious boots made in N. America (US leather, Mexico assembly, US QC). I also have two pairs of Tony Lamas which work great in NM. Finally, I have a pair of Wolverine 1000mi boots. All are great but all serve entirely different purposes. While do I think a gentleman should own a couple of pairs of shoes (black and brown), I generally reach for my boots if I’m going to be on my feet for work or play. Thanks again for excellent presentations. JR Seeger Old warrior, even older novelist PS, I didn’t include my two pairs of jungle boots or my Palladium canvas boots or my Chippewa Mountain boots because…well no one would care what’s still in my footlocker. 😵💫
Thank you Antonio because I don’t own any boots except a pair of older Timberland “yellow” nubuck boots. I always wondered what boot I should get as a good starter boot for everyday use and the classic lace up seems the way to go for me because I am a classic kind of guy. 👍🏼
This was a very well reasoned, well done video. Thanks so much for all 0f the info. I’m not gonna lie, I was happy I agreed with most of what you said. lol.
Hi Antonio, love your channel!!! You've really helped me up my style game. I've noticed most of your advice is geared towards Western fashion and body types. As an Asian guy from Malaysia, it can be tricky to find clothes that fit well and suit our climate. It would be awesome if you could do a video on adapting classic styles for hot and humid weather or maybe even some recommendations for brands that cater to me Tropical Asian builds....You're my fashion Godfather🙏
I like boot fashion because it caters to the people like me in their late 30's transitioning into mid adulthood and I don't really wanna wear stuff that makes me look like I'm trying to be a teenager again.
I have no problem with Antonio getting paid, and I like his content, but there have been a few where less than a minute in i am pretty sure the whole video was built around the sponsor. But hey, if he can make a helpful video about loneliness and depression and get it sponsored by betterhelp or whatever, it’s all good.
I bought a pair of Thursday boots, and I thought they were well-made. Unfortunately, they are too heavy for me to wear for any length of time. Cheap boots for me then.
i will be honest, when i saw the title of this video i thought thursday sponsoring coming. i wasn't wrong. the video was good but the thursday boots sponsoring it's getting anoying and boring.
Tom Ford has some quote that I can’t quite remember, but went something like “I wear boots because I feel strong when I wear them.” He said it better, but I find it true. When I wear sneakers, they are comfy, maybe make me feel fast, but certainly not in any way mature or tough. When I wear dress shoes, I feel great, but it is a deliberately delicate type of great. When I put on a great pair of boots, I feel rugged, I feel sophisticated, I feel smart (in a dress sense), I feel like I can take on the world.
I think you wrote off the alpine hiker too easily. Anybody that lives where it snows should get them first. Rain boots may also be a first, but a lot of them are ugly rubber, so not really what we are talking about. In some parts, cowboy boots are the first ones, but snow boots I feel transcends cultural vibes more easily. Some people, myself included, feel cowboy boots aren’t appropriate for them. Hikers are.
I believe you should pick your boot, and or your style by what you individually like. Don’t listen to anyone else, just enjoy what you buy and wear those items happily. Sorry to say, but fuck fashion.
Calling Thirsty Boots "logger" boots is pretty much an insult to even the cheap logger boots out there because they didn't add the heel stack, just the wee bit extra shaft height the "Hero" boot. The wedge sole was a pretty terrible approximation, too, and don't bother to mention that they run two sizes too small or whatever.............
Um, most guys I know either need hiking boots or work boots, so why wouldn't THOSE be the first boot? My first boots were cheap cowboy boots and then "army" boots that I used as hiking boots and that didn't change much for years.
Most zip boots ye still hafta undo the lacing... Most guys who would buy the "combat" boots won't be marching around. I'm sure the leather plenty thin on both those models, too?
This dude needs more BLACK LEATHER clothes and reduce those sh*t color leather jackets. Seeing a dude wear a sh*t color leather jacket reminds me of my panic attack I got from seeing my high school nerd enemy who hates to wear black leathers but wears tons of sh*t color leathers. I hate reminders like that.
Maybe we first need to address why everyone buys jeans that are too long, and then feels they need to roll them up. Douchey Hipster shit. Not real Men Real Style.
@@Simple_Jack82 yup I agree. Unfortunately it seems like all "styles" are leaning in that direction. I mean, look at all the pants. Besides the fact they're skin tight like girl's pants, what man can comfortably wear them unless he has Bambi stick legs? Also, who decided cuffing them up like that is masculine? To each is own I guess

An updated boot video. Awesome :)
Thursday boots have worked out well for me so far :)
I've been buying Thursday seconds and no issues whatsoever!!

TLB mallorca is a huge sleeper in the boot and dress shoe space. Amazing quality and selection!
Can you get them in the U.S.?

This is the first video I'm watching on boots and I'm excited to buy a pair!
Prefer the slip in style to all those laces .. great for cold weather
Great video. Informative and concise.
I started dressing better as my financial status improved. I have learned a lot from this channel.
I like boot fashion because it caters to the people like me in their late 30's transitioning into mid adulthood and I don't really wanna wear stuff that makes me look like I'm trying to be a teenager again.
Thanks for sharing this! The collar thing didn't stay in place for too long though 10:30 😭
I ended up getting some crazy horse dr martens chelsea boots for casual wear
Should you polish black boots that you plan to wear casually
How much 1pare
I’m 5seconds in & I got the sponsored by Thursday boots vibe…😂

I prefer cowboy boots, some pairs can be crossed over between dress and casual.
What about a square toe boot or is round better
thanks for info

Agreed
Makes it impossible to think he's being honest when he literally has to push the Thursday boots to get paid
Can chukka boots work with jeans and chinos?
Yes. Especially dark jeans and some slim fitted chinos
@@victorcoronado3986 Thank you.
I wear Chukka with dark jeans.
I love the chukka and the Chelsea boot but because I have size 5 feet, I can't get a pair to fit my feet.
make more videos matching colors
I got a pair of the rogue boots from Thursday boots and I love them so much. Fits my style perfectly.
Right???💯
My main man Antonio.
I had some dress sneakers I wore everyday from Thursday boots for 10 months and they started to fall apart
Chelsea top
Not the meow meow🤣🤣
If you on your feet get yourself a GOOD hand-made in the Pacific Northwest USA. I wear White's.
Antonio was that you disguised as Bret Baier. Why you do Kamala like that? Lol
I am 42 years old. Someday I will wear stylish clothes. Someday.😁
🔥
Don't like boots ever. Could never understand why shall I buy them?

@JakeSmith-jy1kx Good point. That makes my mind in favor of boots.
Where is monkey boot or carpenter boot?

Ye don't have to live in Houston to wear western riding boots. I'm pretty sure Houston is actually a huge metropolitan area now.
Thin Thirsty Boot leather doesn't need much break-in, just the heel blisters when ye first get them.
Mini-Lugs, too, but fine for day hikes on the nature trail.
