Agreed on all but one there... Quieter?! About the same from the ground, although very different sound, but on the inside? A Blackhawk is MUCH louder than a Huey. The reason is the location of the transmission, which is to the rear of a Huey and overhead in a Blackhawk. While not advised, you can be a passenger in a Huey without ear plugs... In a Blackhawk the gear whine is WAY too loud to tolerate with open ears!
Defenseless when in combat mission, no ejection seats, no escape when hit, any mech failure in the engines results in crash, piloting these nice birds takes a massive amount of courage.
UH60 pilot here :) I'm not saying you are completely wrong here, but nevertheless you are mostly wrong. OK, there are no ejection seats, but I would be afraid to hang on a parachute anyway (there goes the courage ;). I was flying Mi8 and Mi17 before and I can tell you - to my best knowledge there is no rotorcraft machine built around a premise that 'the crew has to survive' to such an extent as UH60 is. These ladies can take incredible amount of damage and still fly. And they are definitely not defenceless...
@@sulfo4229Ok boss ,I applaud your service in those nice machines. but I do not understand where I am wrong about all this. Yes the UH is far superior to those Russian junks. But I am saying that since there is no bail out for the crew in case of a massive hit or a catastrophic failure, piloting these machines takes more courage because you will go down with your machine if all measures don't work. I do not see how this is "mostly wrong.."
@@Max-dk5vzYou're right about the crews being badass but you're wrong in your arguments for why. For one trying to bail out of a helicopter is definitely more dangerous than just staying in it and riding it out. Just think about what helicopters are used for and what heights they operate at. Second the only Blackhawks going into battle unarmed are for medivac as per the Genova convention and even still they are escorted and not to be shot at anyways. Third Blackhawks have emergency controls in case of mechanical damage or battle damage so the pilots can try to put them down softly as possible. Blackhawks are also designed to hit the ground pretty hard so as long as you dont land upside down you're probably surviving. What makes these crews so badass is their training and skills not because they are flying coffins.
only 6-7 black hawks left in Afghanistan of the 8 total that were left behind for the afghan national army. the Taliban already crashed 2 (the videos are quite funny)

Having cut my Air Assault "teeth" in UH-1 Hueys, the Blackhawk was like a dream come true. Quieter, smoother and an improvement in every aspect.

You can absolutely do it!My brother started out as a PFC and retired as a cw4 pilot in Chief. He was also a Night Stalker
How is it going?

Man! Never thought of it that way. But you’re right about all the stuff that can go sideways! Spot on!

Incorrect sir. The only thing you did say correct were the birds are nice lol and we don’t have ejection seats
Let's not forget Super 61, or super 64. Thanksgiving would not be possible without heros like Shegur and Gordon
Great helicopter!

Amazing Aircraft.
Thanks for the videos.
The Kamov Ka-62 is like the Russian version of BlackHawk
That first landing may have damaged the airframe. Blackhawk or not that was exceptionally harsh
Very good news 💡

It would be awesome if we can have Blackhawk clips but those whicb are currently used by Taliban 😂

They do, they crashed it (IT) and the rest are scrap. Go have a watch.
