@@evancarmello9226 My Dr recommended surgery. I did not want to do surgery so he had me perform a ton or rehab exercises. I couldn't really lift my arm for about 2 weeks. Even then it took about 2-3 months for me to regain normal mobility. This entire time I had pain in my shoulder. After about 6-7 months I started trying to do light workouts. I felt a small pain in my shoulder up until about 9 months. I will say at this point I don't feel any pain and use my shoulder like normal. Although, I don't think it's 100% or ever will be 100%. Maybe like 92-95%. I used to box but after my injury I can't seem to throw a jab for to many rounds without causing pain to my shoulder. Other than that I am able to use it for daily tasks and other activities with no problem.

Passed all the tests with ease so this is giving me some hope but my shoulder is clicking a lot when I lift my arm above my head and I feel discomfort in my shoulder when I do other motions sometimes.
I saw some comments from other people that didn't pass these tests. I wish them the best and to look forward to their recovery. The more focused u r on physical therapy and everything the doctors tell u to do, the faster u get better. Don't let anyone tell u "u can't do it." Listening to them will only hurt u.

I can do push-ups normally now and chin-ups. If it persists beyond 2 weeks, definitely call ur physician up for a referral to an orthopedic.

It‘s probably related to a dysbalance in your front delt and rear delt, as well as chest muscle and lower trapezius. If you don‘t have optimal posture, focus on training low traps as well as rear delts and rotator cuff (face pulls) to strengthen external rotation. This will pull your shoulders back and down over time, and help with cracking, mobility and tendon health

I’m 50 years old and very active in the gym. I did a 5000 pull up challenge about 5 months ago and I haven’t recovered from it since. I have lost shoulder strength on side and front raises. I have very limited cross body movement without having sever pain. I also get a fiery feeling running down my arm with any cross body motion. I’ve had a few cortisone injection many years ago but so far I haven’t been able to recover from this injury.

This is so informative. I have had severe neck and shoulder pain for the past year.
I had an epidural in my neck recently and it didn't last but a few days.
The doctor assumed my shoulder pain was directly related to my neck pain.
I had a follow up and let him know that I can no longer sleep due to my shoulder pain.
I can't sleep on the opposite side either, because it feels like someone is pulling my arm out of the socket.
He did a few of the tests that are in this video and I couldn't follow through on any of these.
The only different test he did was to have me lift my arm straight up and I can do that.
I'm seeing an orthopedic doctor on Monday, and until then I just can't sleep.
I really wish I would have seen this earlier because it really helped me realize I definitely have something wrong with my rotator cuff.
Very appreciative of good caring doctors ❤

The video’s second test (45 deg thumb down etc.) confirmed my suspicions. As a result, now getting a workup for repair with the same surgeon of 7 yrs ago. Things wear out over 7 decades.

only wet cupping cures it because oxygen and food goes there to cure it
The reference is me may be for the first time in the world. After 7 months of useless pills and cortizon injection and a lot of pain I went to the person making wet cupping and "ordered" him to place 3 cups to my shoulder to take the dirty blood and after 5 days I was completely cured thanks to God. ( I found out this by comparing with my leg. I had the same problem but the tear was cured because I was walking but in my shoulder I had no such chance. So only wet cupping cures it because oxygen and food goes there to cure it in this way.
Not one cup like the one in this video but three cups next to each other on the same region ua-cam.com/video/4UKzyhKnnBs/v-deo.html
simple logic! the tear needs oxygen and food to be cured and the only way is to take the dirty blood and send fresh blood with oxygen and food. there are no studies because YOU have to suffer from it so as to FIND the solution.

Okay, I failed #1 and thought #3 was going to be okay....until the pain hit. I already knew I had torn it. It's much stronger now than it used to be because I work out much harder. For about 2 years it would POP audibly when I would shift my weight or even just lift my weight off my arm. I screamed out loud more than once just from moving my arm. Luckily through weight lifting, resistance bands and pushups I've regained a great deal of use, but this just confirmed that I need to see my doctor. I don't think rehab is going to work for me. I'm pretty sure I have surgery in my future....

I have same issues. When I lift my L arm I feel a clunking followed by severe pain, or if I turn steering wheel in my truck, it can be very painful. Sometimes it’s not as bad - just uncomfortable. Feels also like a bone spur in humerous is affecting the muscle/tendon when I move it (clunking sound). I’ve had it for 10 years - did PT, gym exercises, stretching or hanging from bar, which helped recently - but pain/discomfort and weakness always returns. Totally sucks as recovery is 3-6 months after surgery - 3 months in sling.

I fell face forward and caught myself with an outstretched arm about a month ago. I can’t get an MRI due to COVID19 so I’ve just been dealing with it with ibuprofen, ice and a tens unit wondering what I’ve actually done. The first 2 tests I failed miserably and the last one I couldn’t do bc I cannot put my hand, on the affected side, behind my back without pain (didn’t even try lifting my hand with my other hand) so I’m pretty sure I’ve torn the rotator cuff. I did tests for the SLAP tear as well as biceps tendon tear and could tell neither was what I’m dealing with. Your tests likely nailed it just have to suffer until this pandemic passes.

I can't even do any of those tests because it hurts so much. No injury like falling to cause this. It gradually started off as numbness and tingling in hand with mild shoulder pain. Now, I can't raise my arm up or put on a jacket without help. Xray is normal but I have to see a Physical therapist before an MRI if needed.

I passed all tests (no pain) EXCEPT during the thumbs-up test when my arm is about 45-30° from my side. Lowering my arm is painful and causes unpleasant crunkling (crunch/crackle) sensations. Raising my arm from my side is too painful to go above 45°. I can go from 90° up and lower back down to 90° no issue, though.
So probably not rotator cuff, but still no closer to figuring it out

Hey everyone! Another good test is to do the 3rd test in this video while lying down on the ground and have your arms around your back as if you are being arrested. Then relax and let the shoulders just flop, by which I mean just let go of any muscle contractions. My left shoulder is great but my right shoulder, after doing that test I just said, hurts! It's a real sharp pain from the rear part. But it hasn't effected my performance in the gym with the bench press exercise... but the pain is there when I lie down into that position

only wet cupping cures it because oxygen and food goes there to cure it
The reference is me may be for the first time in the world.

@joe , lucky man. Incline Dumbbell pressing on Friday, failed the last rep just before lockout due to muscle fatigue, the weight was heading for my face so pressed it away from my face but because of the strange angle it put lots of force through my shoulder and there was a tearing sound. Been to a&e all they did was X-ray. Got a phone call today no breaks but they think it’s a muscular tear, and are referring me to PT. I’m almost certain it’s rotator cuff as can’t even lift my arm in any direction, and any attempt to do so is fackin’ painful. I’ll be lucky if I make anywhere near a full recovery from this. Anyway, take it easy on the bench press, know more than a few who’ve done themselves in on that including shoulder injuries and pec tears. After this I’m just wondering if lifting heavy is worth it. It’s a good buzz pushing big numbers and there’s a sense of achievement but if badly injured can say goodbye to a decent physique and it sucks not being able to train. If I make a recovery think just gonna stick to circuit type training, will still achieve a good physique and far less chance of tears/rips etc. Got a bit carried away for a UA-cam comment, shows how gutted I am 😂.

    Shame, this helps confirm it.
Not much of a surprise given repetitive motion injuries were common at my past job, but ~4 months into my current, I more or less fully recovered without more than a slight pain sleeping on that arm.
And then I tripped hard at a medium/high jogging pace and caught myself on my *good arm* Guess where I was actually the most hurt, from falling into a shallow staircase and spike bush?
My former bad shoulder that was totally not involved nor had to hold my weight! Felt like it slammed into my shoulder joint and I couldn't lift it for half an hour and had weakness for a couple days.
It's been like 8 months since and I'm still not recovered to where I was before that nasty trip. I'm obviously feeling better now, but I still have to mind my shoulder or I'll lose blood flow to it or typically it'll just hurt like someone hit me with a bat instead 😕
I'm 23 in a couple weeks. Here's to hoping I can recover fully without another missed stair in the dark. Cause I'm a package delivery driver and it's getting dark on shift again.
