      Not really. "Rotten" is the stage at which food has been decayed by bacteria to the point where it's no longer edible. Plenty of foods can be funky and not even old. Onions smell funky. Garlic is funky. Certain vegetables have sulfuric compounds that break down when you cook them and make your kitchen smell like shit.

    This is a pretty amazing experiment and kudos for doing it. It looks 100% completely raw in the middle. Maybe that's just what the camera picks up and how it looks. But it seriously looks exactly like the raw meat next to it when he cuts into the steak.

      Did guga dry age bone in ever? As far as I know Guga "only" dry aged 15 wagyus without bone like the picanha, or boneless ribeye, not sure tho. No matter what, when it comes to meat, guga is the goat. leeeets doo eeettttt

    WOW!!!! At 10:50 you mention the edge piece has so much mold/fat that it almost smells like pee. There was a time I ate at Peter Lugar's where I insisted the steak had a urine-type smell to it. Not overpowering mind you, but subtle. Everyone at the table thought lost my freaking marbles. So thank you for verifying an experience we've both shared and can ensure anyone else that it isn't uncommon for a high-end steak to have that type of odor.

    I'm surprised I'm the only one saying this, but I don't think he actually ate that. He didn't show us him picking up the steak and eating it, just quick cuts of him chewing then cut again. Alot of cooking channels are completely zoomed out when taste testing i.e binging with babish. I honestly think he was grossed out or worried. There was no part of that steak that looked juicy like the first slice he showed. Maybe the edges but idk. Weird lol.
