You are an absolute lifesaver! My door failed today after only a week of it sounding like it was starting to go. There's no way I could have done this without this video. Thank you!!
Just a tip on putting the door back on (because I had a 2+ hour crisis with this): all of the clips need to be on the door cover. If there's any stuck in your door, be careful pulling them out! I recommend buying extra clips just in case.
Salute Keith. My first car was a VW Jetta. And then I had A VW Corrado G60.
I'm not mad at seeing this video. I'm always strictly German anyway. I will never be insulted or offended to see German Cars. Thx for the content as always..
Thanks illwills. This repair had to be done. German cars follow an underlining engineering design and thought process. They are a pleasure to work on. One thing to note that's different between Mercedes and VW. Mercedes keeps the torx size the same on the same part. VW not so much.
Great video couldn't have done it without it! Thanks for sharing
Had to do my Honda Element a month ago. I will be replacing the regulator on my GF Beetle this week. Great vid. Thanks for the help
Cape Cod here
Looking at that regulator I bet I could make a hand crank for it but I'd have to use another door as I would have to cut a hole in it for the crank.
Excellent video. God bless you in everything you do! Did you use a lubricant for the noise? Ea🥰
My window is just sloppy and moves. I have tried tightening the bolts on the bottom of the door that are said to tighten it and it doesn’t work. Even taken the panel off and tightened the bolts inside with a torque. No luck. The motor works, do you think the window could just be off those white clips?
Great video Keith, Well done. Did you have to adjust the window after reassembly to account for the half inch drop/raise when opening and closing door? I will be attempting this very same job on my wife's beetle at the weekend. Hopefully all goes well....Thanks.
Hello Highlander, I did not have to adjust the window after reassembly. I did have to have the SRS light turned off.
Thanks Keith.
Awesome video! My car is having a similar problem, but has not stopped working yet. Just crunching sound. It is still winter so I am not rolling up/down window, but replacement is drawing closer and closer. Was car dropping/raising the half inch before reassembly or not at all?
At first, it was dropping/raising the haif inch then it stopped working altogether.
I am dealing with this exact issue with the crunching sound. My window currently tries to go up and down when going into the car. But I hear a huge air issue when I drive. I can hear it
My brother has a 2013 beetle that has that problem but he doesn't have money to fix it with.
