Thank you very much, for your effort. Your video has been helpful. Saved a lots of money and trouble. This is what humans supposed to do to each other all over the world. HELP and TEACH each other !
Problem Child. I just purchased my 3rd New Beetle. 2000 GLS, Automatic, 2.0. Luckily, I have the service records for the last 6 year. Yeah, she’s been practically rebuilt. My other New Beetles were covered under warranty:) 2003 GL, 5 Speed, 2.0 2005 Turbo, Automatics, 1.8 Other Beetles: 66, 68 and 70. Thanks for the videos!!!!
Thank you so much!!! This saved me having to pay a mechanic on my 13 year old beetle. The last electrical connection behind the metal panel, gave me great difficulty. I ended up just clawing at it. : )
Thanks for this bud! I may be fixing a friends broken glass window..assuming her motor set up is fine, i intend to follow the panel dismantle, clean every spec of glass possible, tape the new window into place as you have done and refit the panel in reverse... Will be a good time to inspect the window wire quality, but here in the uk we probably dont have the window down as much LOL..( keep the rainout lol) Thanks again
Really would have been cool to show how you re-routed the cables and positioned the sliders because that's one of the most crucial parts of this job, and the part I needed to see because my cables came apart when I was replacing the door lock module.
As an ASE cert technician just want to say this was a good DIY, could have been a little longer and maybe a bit less narration and more physically showing what you did but you can see you know what you're doing. Should be good enough to help anyone who's good with their hands though. Hey it helped me so thanks.
THANK YOU. This small, mom and pop repair shop estimated this job for nearly $500. I am just going to try and do myself. Hoping I can get everythnig removed!
DO NOT cut the plastic ties on the new regulator until it is in place and all the cable are connected. I made the mistake of cutting them before I connected the cables in place and it all unravelled and added hours to the job. Get all the new cables connected, put the regulator in place and THEN remove the plastic tie and black clamp and any other plastic ties. Thanks for the video. I did eventually get it done and saved hundreds of dollars on a trip to the mechanic.
Okay, I did all this and it all works fine except now the window won't roll up all the way. I tried seating the glass a little higher in the clamps, but it's not enough. The motor just stops too soon. Did I do something wrong?
We are on our 5th part. No one can seem to get us the right part. Husbands doing it right, but the tracks are always wrong. Can't find window reg shop on eBay. If you have a link for the part we'd be forever grateful! I have a 2005 vw beetle convertible, it's the passenger side front window.
Hello. I like you video but I have a question. Im at the point where I have the black inner panel loose but I have one last wire connection that I can't get apart....the wire harness that goes to the door latch. How the heck does that come apart? Thanks
Hi guys, I just replaced my 2009 vw eos passenger window regulator and tested the window up and down and it runs fine, but since its a convertible it doesn't pull the window down 1/2 inch when I unlocked it, so that I can open the door because it still stuck in the door groove. However, the driver's side and all other windows are fine, when I use the 1 touch button all windows roll up and down no problem except when I locked and unlocked the car, the passenger's side window doesn't pull down, and I tried to do the calibration on that window but it still not working. So Could anyone please help me how to fix that issue, and also my airbag light came on after the window regulator installed, so please help if you can....thanks a billion guys.
Tesla-1 also, maybe this will help with your issue...I need a new key, so when I lock it and the Windows don't go under conv top, I hold key in door to the left, Windows go down a bit. Then hold to the right, they all go up and alarm sets. Hope this helps ya.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know we rebuild these with our own metal parts. A common issue with these kits and any regulator you can purchase, aftermarket or OEM, is that they still have cheap plastic that will break again. ua-cam.com/video/vdL-ty1wH9Q/v-deo.html
You didn’t show how you disconnected that piece. The most important part and this was no help!!!!!!!! Why did you cut that out?!? The point of this video Was to help and it’s just half assed skipping around on how to do
So I did this swap, im at the part putting the window back on those little clips. I put the window on the clips, I have 2 problems. 1st problem, the window does roll down and up kind of retarded, and it will not go all the way up. 2nd problem, those 2 holes, that you line up the window clips with to loosen to put the window in its seat, are not both cross from each other, the right side is a little up, so i have to roll up the windowless regulator losen, and then roll it up a little more to do the other side. I am in the middle of this as we speak, please help a brotha out quickly.
Thank you very much. My only recommendation would be to those who have negative comments to please go right ahead and make a better video them selves.

Keep up the good videos!

Is it the same part for a mechanical window? Looks the same? Thanks,

Good eye LOL...I did have to pop the panel off again and fix it :)
Did you notice you lost your locking pin? Can you do a video on how to fix that?
Did you replace the motor?
I want to know how to remove the Wire conector between the regulator and the door to the door lock

You have to take the door handle off, which is really easy, this chap has a video about that too.
What kind of lube do you use before putting the unit back together...
Just your regular old auto parts grease works great :) in moderation
How to replace the wiper motor on a bug?
Wiper motor?!
What screw drivers did you use as in shape?
TORX

That motor is freakin expensive! I need to hustle a cheap one
