Need a second opinion please. Persistent P0161, B2S2 heater circuit, has power, has ground pulse from ECM, swapped sensor from bank to bank, still same code. Leaning toward ECM, any thoughts on it is appreciated. Great videos as always, right to the point.
Interesting. Any thoughts about ohming the sensor ground to the power ground on the computer itself? Just to eliminate the possibility of a bad wire crimp at the connector. Since no power required, it could be done with the connector off.
Hi! Great job. I have a Hyundai Accent 2010 and the scanner device shows me issues with the Oxygen sensor # 2. It has never been changed and the car has 187,000 Km. What brand or brands of oxygen sensors do you recommend for this car? Do you know how many wires does the original sensor 2 have? I want to find the right one and give it to the auto mechanic for installation.Thank you!
I like Denso 02 sensors; here's the part # for your vehicle, DENSO 2344851. I would not buy one from Amazon or eBay, as many are fake. I like to get them local or from Rockauto.com

hey .. Thanks for the heads up on that X431 Pro being on sale. I bought one and my buddy bought one and it's a pretty killer tool. On mine, everything seems to work fine, except on the first home page where there are several buttons, the: "SERVICE FUNCTION" button does not work.. Well it works, it just takes me to a blank page; where normally it would be a bunch of shortcuts of resets, etc. It looks like I can still do the functions, they are just scattered around in the software and different modules, rather than having them grouped up in a convenient menu. Are you going to make a video about this thing or a review, etc? Because I would really like to know if mine is just broken and needs repaired or if that 'service function' button just isn't supported for something this old? Can you please just open up yours and see if that 'Service Function" button in the center, near the top-- that has the wrench symbol: is working or not? Please let me know-- I really appreciate it. and thanks again for the clearance shout out.
Many times, you can't get a reliable connection with back probing, or the connector is hard to access. You can also cross pins if it's a really tight connector.
You didnt' really need to prove pin fitment.. You already showed that the pin was working when you put power to it and it would go UP on the scantool. (11:30) .. It's still not a bad idea to touch all bases though when calling a bad computer. Edit: (well, unless that power was actually going down and through the O2 sensor and the signal change was coming back up through a different line.. and not the suspect ground pin)
@@advancedleveldiagnostics At 11:30 -- you put 12v on that same ground wire, and showed how it spikes the signal on the scantool; but I think it was just passing the voltage back through the O2 sensor and effecting your signal waveform on the other line (the positive side).. So it did still prove that the signal wire was good.. Plus it proved that your ground WIRE was good from the computer to the sensor... Plus your test light wasn't lighting up -- so it also proves that your ground coming from inside the computer wasn't working: all in one test ............. anyway, I see now what it was doing. It's hard to explain in text form. :) ......... Tapping into that wire at the computer tests everything all at once from that one spot. I'll remember that on my next one.

I couldn't find in service info, but I definitely have seen cars that have a Data PiD for downstream fuel control. But watching these fuel trims, it is clearly affecting it.
Check the channel called TST Seminars. They have a video from December 2023 titled Mastering Generic Scan Data (check 24 minutes into the video). They addressed this issue of rear O2 sensors contributing to fuel trims.
Why do look at engine load? What significance does that pid have? Just curious. I always c that pid but it seems it just would tell if I am pressing the gas pedal
Engine load is calculated from engine rpm, temp, tps, maf, map, etc input. If for example your maf is reporting incorrectly, engine load will be off as well. Its a clue, a piece of the puzzle.

I would check on a scanner if you have amperage through the sensor.

Genuine question, why do you use a pierce probe instead of just back probing the wiring behind the connector?
Many times, you can't get a reliable connection with back probing, or the connector is hard to access. You can also cross pins if it's a really tight connector.
Doesn't piercing the wire cause a possible place for corrosion? Just asking

With the test light I was only proving that the signal wire was good, the ground is separate.

i had this case , i changed the oxygen sensor bank2 , the code is still present.
i returned the car to the owner.
