Hey I know you probably get tons of comments but I'd really like to know what level three fighter and cleric do I've rewatched this video like 5 times in a row since discovering your channel i really hope you play it again soon. Thank you!
@@nataliestillwell7430 Just for you: - Level 3 Fighter basically had the owl bear's ability to SORRY! any pawn they passed. - If the Level 3 Cleric was on the board the player could draw the top 2 cards & pick which one to use.
skyler starts playing at 15:23, almost a 1/3rd of the way through the vid. and then immediately goes back to starting position a minute later. he then lives again at 26:26, and immediately dies within 2 minutes. once again he revives due to the power of st. james at 31:07, moves 3, at which point god decides he's done with this BS and changes the rules
This series is amazing. I can tell a lot of work goes into it, first by Deficient to create the games, then Skyler with the editing, but it's so worth it.
The meta was ever-changing in this game. With Val displaying the power of the level 3 rogue and Nat with their level 3 wizard! Skyler also showed the Rogue’s natural ability (with level 2) deftly navigating through the dungeon as well as the level 2 cleric valiantly sacrificing themself for the fighter. Unfortunately we didn’t see the level three abilities of the cleric or much of the fighter at all. Great work, amazing design and flexibility modifying the rules to keep the game fun. You’re a great GM, Deficient.
So Tldr Val becomes mortal Frenamies with Deficient , Skyler never gets to play until he says hes done with this shit and goes sicko mode, Val and Skyler get amazon gift cards , and then finally someone wins
15:23 And finally Skylar gets to play. The rules of the game do say that each player starts the game with a single pawn in play for exactly this reason. 43:15 "Move a pawn from start OR if in play, move two spaces". Not AND.
Once again, I just want to see you make "D&D But actually Red Dragon Inn" solely for the purpose of how it would fit well with everything else you made. Especially since I want to see Skyler bring back his Southern Master Chief character for it.
Instead of playing dirty and railroading val out of home (shame on you DM) you could've just made it a rule that all pawns must be level 3 and in home to win the game.
Fun fact: The Dutch name for this game could be translated to: "Dude, don't ragequit" Word for word translation is: "Human annoyed not / Human do not get annoyed"
This was such a mess XD Great Sports all of you despite the chaos. I think having so many monsters out early was too much. I know that they are supposed to help with leveling, but their powers seemed overwhelming. Recycling pawns from home is a cool mechanic that requires a strong incentive. But I'm totally with Val there, having a finished pawn is imho worth much more than whatever fun mechanic you can unlock. I really loved the addition of optional dungeons and real world money rewards. Maybe the Amazon gift card could have been a tresure that you can unlock access to by recycling the pawn. So, if a pawn leaves Home and restarts they get gilded, and if you manage to get the gilded pawn into the Home again, then you get a gift card ;). To make the risk worth it, I would say that a pawn can not lose the gilded status by being Sorry'd (unlike the gift card that can be dropped) Definitely a couple cool ideas here, overall still it seemed far less interesting as a D&D crossover though. The other games had additional character abilities just like Sorry now. But they also had very frequent roleplay opportunities. Monopoly had the quests, Betrayal had inter-player shenanigans and Clue was somewhere between the two. But Sorry dropped that nearly completely imho. The pub quests are very few and the nature of the game is to skip big chunks of the board, including the pubs. I think such a chaotic game makes it hard to let either the character abilites or roleplay really shine. Food for though on why I enjoy these videos.
Appreciate this breakdown. You really are seeing the initial playtest of my silly ideas in these videos. I def wanna retry SORRY down the road with what I've learned in play & with the advice offered by comments like yours. A unique challenge I have with these games as a UA-cam video is find mechanics that don't bloat the playtime too long. I can see ways to add more roleplay BUT this game was already going for 3 & a half hours. I didn't want a 2nd multi-part boardgame on my to-do list. Thanks again!
I know that Rogue, Fighter, Wizard, Cleric is a nice even spread of talents, but I'd love to see one of these "D&D But Actually" videos with Druids, Barbarians, Artificers, etc. :-)
Reminds me of my campaign's last encounter. It was supposed to be challenging, but our paladin got two crits with 3rd level divine smite and our barbarian got one crit. The hard encounter ended up being really easy 😆Sorry, not sorry!
expectation: a cut-throating match of SORRY with everyone attacking each other. reality: the many relations of men with god, and how the actions of the environment affect said relations.
I´m spanish and i love your videos, I have a lot of fun, I love your accents and I can understand pretty much with just the basic level of English that I have. Big up for all of you, I want to see more!!
8 minutes in and slightly disappointed that the rule in which you draw another card after drawing a two is not present Edit: 17:20 IN WHAT WORLD DO YOU LIVE IN IN WHICH SLIDING PAST SOMEONE *ISN'T A AUTOMATIC SORRY?*
For real I bought the most recent version of SORRY as my baseline and neither of those mechanics were part of that edition's rules. Interesting what's been tweaked over the years.
@@DeficientMaster yeah the last version of Sorry I had received was also missing those two rules but it allows you to leave Start with *any* card and also had this fire and ice thing where the fire thing let you move the pawn it's on to the next corner before drawing and the ice thing froze an opponents pawn until anyone drew the freeze card again (I think it was 1, and the fire card was 2) I prefer the older versions but I think the fire and ice thing could be worked into this in an interesting way
D&D but risk legacy actually on the modified map (the regular map works too, but the modified map is more interesting). The games are shorter, but each progressing game changes how the map operates a little (on the original risk legacy launching 3 nukes at once adds zombies to the map.).
Only having a less than 25% chance of being able to play the game each turn if you have no pawn out already is Sorry's greatest flaw. Definitely glad the house rule came into play later on!
@TheADHDM The Wall, the Slugger, It's a Deal...never knew what to expect when the new one would drop--except that Fang the dog was probably hidden in it somewhere.
What I did to do less upkeep on items and shit was basically just said keep track of your stat modifiers and class bonus to saves and monsters looked like this Burning Skeleton (AC Int 6 or Cha 14) Atk=Con 20, if fail for 3 turns need to make Dex save 4 or die. They didn't really mind the low ass saving throw DC vs death, (one player did said it was too chance even if you got bonus points and d6s as resources to improve rolls) what they hated was the guessing game of what it took to attack a monster. No way of knowing only intelligence or charisma works on it, only that obviously a class that has that as their advantageous save would use it. But with 4-6 players someone is bound to hit. This is the illusion of pressure. With HP you go against the frame work at all and it's a TPK. Strangely finding fun in power scaling my monsters arguing a Burning Skeleton was more dangerous than a mindflayer because the mindflayer had no death only confusion effect relying on you all fighting one another. Despite having higher save requirements all around like Mindflayer (AC Str 12 or Dex 13) Atk=Cha 18 or Wis 13, fail and confused until the mindflayer dies.
In Sweden we call that game Fia med Knuff It was made in the early 1900s by some guy named Josef Friedrich Schmidt. And sorry was made 1929 by some william guy.
Thanks for asking, there's a lot going on in that shot! If you mean the phone inside the microwave, Deficient just turned on the microwave light and we added sfx in post. If you mean how did we get his channel avatar over his face through the microwave door in that same shot, Deficient recorded a shot of just his hands on the outside microwave door, and I took a clean plate of the kitchen background with the microwave door open, then redrew the door grate in photoshop, layering it in front of the avatar pic. Had to rotoscope the hands to fit in with the new background
@@TheADHDM THANKS!! I meant both things actually, because I noticed the mesh over Deficient avatar and thought "that looks hard to make" and then the lights went on. Good job! hope the sponsor paid well :D
Sorry is the first of these I didn’t know, but if I can use this vid as an analysis of the actual boardgame I question if all the extras actually fixed the fundamental issue of Ludo - most ppl are stuck never getting pawns out while one person runs the board…
I have a few suggestions for the next couple videos will you turn them into DND. The game of Life. Mouse trap. Louder and slides. Trouble. And candyland. Those were the only one that could find that could possibly work. Unless you can find other board games.
Except Monopoly I actually don't know how to play any of the other games featured in the channel, but I was able to follow them. This one was too chaotic and random. Still fun to watch you play guys. And my future french wife best player as always.
Honestly leaving home to level up doesn't seem to be worth it. I'd change it so all party members have to be level 3 to stay in the home space, and increase the number of opportunities to level up so the game wouldn't go on forever.
Use code 50DEFICIENT to get 50% OFF plus free shipping on your first Factor box at bit.ly/4dLpTwp!
suggestion for a mash up. D&D x Monopoly Cheat. Give it a try it will be an awesome mash up.😈
this game of 'sorry' is JUST the game 'Frustrastion' or the other one its similar to
make it 60% off

Next idea D&D but actually Risk, then basically you just trick your friends into playing a modified version of Warhammer.
Even better: TSR Chainmail miniatures rules,
That's what I thought before I read your comment to the last xD "but that just Warhammer"
He NEEDS to do it and also not mention warhammer until someone notices

When the game's name is "Sorry not sorry"
As all good dnd campaigns go. When in doubt, Cast FIREBALL!
Why the fuck is the Owlbear honking as it hits others so funny to me? And why is him pulling out a gun instead even funnier?
Am I the only one sitting here wondering what D&D But Actually Uno looks like now?
There’s not even a board, how do you D&D it?
@Kayta-Linda You don't _need_ a board for DND 👀
@@Kayta-Linda it would function like munchkin
The only editing feedback note I got from Deficient this video:
8:45 "Ah. Another unapproved YuGiOh reference"

“feeling good about this one! hydrated. thriving. in my lane. moisterized. devastated. full of hate. bitter. sorrowful.” Is my new catchphrase

@17:23 his slide should have sent Val's token back to home since a slide takes out anything that is in the sliding pawns way.
Everyone run! Val is on her revenge arc and Kelly's Wizard just keeps dying!
My favorite tabletop mixed with the most perfectly balanced board game!

Nat brought up the slide rule post game, we definitely forgot all about it
