Similarly, Starmer purged all the most Labour of the Labour party, and has been shifting the party line towards austerity and letting the Conservatives do whatever they want.
To be fair, he's also the inevitable conclusion. There's a reason it always devolves into dictatorships.

i mean you can't have communist monopoly without the dictator. my favorite part about it is that monopoly was created to show the short comings of capitalism by throwing it in a microcosm and he has done the exact same thing with communism and it is damned near perfect.

There should be a communist test card that asks a question about America or a Hollywood actor, and if they get the question right they get disappeared because "Why would you know about that capitalist pigdog!"
but it's a very easy question like "Who created Star Wars" or something.

As much as that sounds amazing and as much as we all love seeing our great leader, I fear seeing this game monthly would become repetitive after 4-6 times max. once every 3-4 month would work greatly, tho.

I think in the rare cases of a four way tie, the state gets first place. After all, it provided all their needs.

Over... the... top... oh dear. Please, say hello to... well... nobody... when you get wherever they take you. The last game, Sully played by himself... you can look at the old video to understand more. He does in fact know too much. And he is well aware how bad it can go.
Personally, I find the portrayal of Stalin to be quite restrained.
Exactly. Not over the top at all, in fact I believe he portrayed the great leader Stalin in a much more even handed, gracious, benevolent and handsome manner.
I love that in both episodes, Stalin goes from "happy to be the bank" to "ok, you guys do it yourselves" to "no more change for anyone!"

@@rucker69 Monopoly (the game) runs counter to how real estate was done in the USSR (individual apartments were sold to whomever lived in them and collective farm members lived rent free, because they were tied to the farm). Also Dom's version of Stalin is more like a cartoon.
I think I remember the no change rule from part 1, and Sully realising it when he gave "the dosh for the house" was hilarious

If the farmers were charged monthly rent, they would get sucked into endless debts because they were paid when the harvest was done. It seems you like the idea of sharecropping and company towns.

Tilly reminding Sully about his show trial and then slowly raising her hand as the final vote to kill him was incredible. She is like the world's least threatening super villain.

Indeed it was.
On Tillys last event card, there was clearly stated if someone enters her property while she s in hiding, she disappears. She event managed to collect rent from someone knocking her door at 1:28:21 while the card was active. ninja villain

It's comically accurate to how Stalin behaved. He loved to pretend he was impartial and powerless to compel or influence the judges or the laws of the Soviet Union, what he did with Zinoviev and Kamenev when he promised them they wouldn't be executed if they confessed to conspiring with Trotsky to overthrow him.
Dom is such a genius, that he managed to create a game that accurately simulates the fear, paranoia, and backstabbing that occured under Stalin.
Hence his hysterical glee.

The first guy to ever leave prison without disappearing was immediately interrogated by the NKVD for two turns on how exactly he did that.
My suggestion: make Dom in charge of creating the rules for every House Rules from now on. Make sure the other cast members don't know about the rules before they play. And have him lead the game in-character.

Based soley on the look in Sullivan's eyes at the start of this game, I can only assume that at this point in the House Rules timeline, the first Communopoly ended with Adam 'disappearing'. Sully has seen some shit.

I like how, twice, Sullivan just decided not to use his Politbureau ability and just drew a card from Communist Test instead of picking the one that would benefit him
truly a good soviet, equal to the end, what a shame he never existed
Possibly forgot, his famous "cheese blindness" manifesting in yet another game
Some card ideas:
- The Molotov-Ribbentropp Pact: pick a player that is two ahead or behind you in turn order. You and that player divide the properties of the player between you, and they disappear. Only two players? You get backstabbed by your partner. Give half of your properties to them.
- From Each According To His Ability, To Each According To His Need: All your roll results are now 5. If you rolled more, other players are allowed to spend the excess to supplement their rolls. If you rolled less, the difference between 5 and your result is substracted from every other player’s roll. You’re allowed to roll only one die.
- The Five Year Plan: Stalin gives you a goal you need to accomplish within five turns. If you fail, go to jail. If you succeed, Stalin gives you a new goal.
- Party Congress: Stalin has just finished his speech. First player to stop clapping disappears.

The only problem with Party Congress is it's very easy to get rid of a bad piece that way
5 Year Plan (especially if its just a permanent thing that never stops until you go to jail) and MRP are perfect though :D

Idea of Nepman is to let it to be picked last, so that another poor soul would pick it.
I think winning strategy is to end with the ploteriat (iirc) so that at the endgame you'd reduce the nepman's score for yourself.

Since 'you starve' means you subtract your score from another player's score, and if they go below zero, you have that number as a positive while they get either 0 or a negative score. Thus, since they automatically become 0 score, you make them become a negative number, which means you get to keep your score.
Once again, Dom wins the episode of House Rules without actually playing. What a legend.

I have never before seen such a beautiful, elegant, perfectly balanced board game in my life. Every rule is written, exactly as it’s meant to be, for the betterment of the proletariat. It is perfectly balanced for all players, just as all nations will inevitably be, I would not change a single aspect of the game. If I could live inside a boardgame, it would certainly be this one.
I wish they would make this game available... it would have to be on the computer so you could properly simulate having our beloved Stalin. Can you imagine how much fun the family would have for a Thanksgivings day game, with this wonderful game where everyone wins?

The "name your rule part" was especially funny, because we all know that most people would find a way to earn more money, without thinking about the consequences it will have on themselves
Personally I would have gone for a rule that went: "If I go to Jail, I can pick any of the other players to roll for me, if they roll a double I go free, if they roll a 1 then they disappear for trying to help a convict"

Honestly this episode was even better than I could've asked for. Everybody's reactions to the unforeseen elements new and old are banger.
I would never imagine sitting for two hours watching people play a board game on UA-cam and actually being entertained... but here we are. Communopoly is freaking brilliant.

The interaction between the Power Plant and Water Works is certifiable gold. You all have truly outdone yourself with this version of monopoly XD
The haunted look in Laurie’s eyes when it was explained to him was beautiful
Something about having a game master of some sorts also being like an unreliable narrator is so entertaining.
The slow dawning of horror of what this game will be to the new players versus Sullivan's dead eyed trauma is everything.
Dom is joyously malevolent, and I truly appreciate how by an hour and a half in Sully fully looks the part of a loyal Soviet.

This was so good. You could see the spirit slowly leave 3 of the players faces little by little. And the there's Sullivan, who was traumatized and knew there was no winning.

This is so good. I love that Dom while not being a player, plays very important role in the game tweaking rules, making everything more chaotic.

Watching Tilly reacting to Dom's intro was fantastic. The nerves and fear on her face was perfect
The best part of this is definitely that Sully is just having violent flashbacks and trauma from the last one, while the others are somewhat positive about what's to happen here.

He could have One it ALL, with the make up a Rule: "I can Open a Property Auction, each Time a Player Lands on a Property and desite How much I Donate to the State". He could only Lose by a Random disappear Card and even Win against Stalin ones He owns all the Property.
"Stalin" would have not seen the Trick hidden and enjoyed the Donations. He could never get over 1000R, because each Round he can Donate. But all other Players would Loose, or he can Buy the Property, in some cases for 12R. In the End, He owns all Land and should say to "Stalin". What do you want to do now B§tch?"
This Game, no matter how Unfair (for Jokes) could be beaten.

I like to think Adam’s absence is the greatest meta joke in history.
Hate to break it to you, but he’s on disciplinary leave due to abuse and harassment allegations, this is not the first time. He previously worked with another group of content creators that severed ties with him. Adam began to portray himself on NRB as a good example that some people truly can change for the better, unfortunately that did not last.

I stumbled upon this by chance and did watch the whole thing. Never thought watching other people playing a board game could be so entertaining. At one point they'd almost reached an anarchosyndicalist agreement where they buy the property together and the earnings go into the communal pot until Stalin intervened.

Absolutely love this. Just how everything plays out with 21:51, as the music drops and it crash cuts to Tilly going “I think we should kill Sullivan!” and him immediately floundering trying to save himself is just perfect. Absolutely perfect.
I'm honestly really happy to see that you didn't hesitate to change up the cast for a series that has otherwise had the same hosts every episode. This video was fantastic and truly proof that the quality and success of this channel is not solely dependent on a single individual.
