I liked the ending. The post credit scene basically let's you think that either Clive or Joshua survived. We only saw Clive's bad hand being damaged and we didn't see him die for sure. And we also saw him heal Joshua's body before. The story the kids were playing was the one Clive liked and acted with his uncle and one of the side missions allowed Clive to get a quill from Harpocrates to write his story. So I believe Clive survived and to honor his brother used his name to write his story. Not the first time he took someone's name.

    • @TheGravityShifter
      @TheGravityShifter Рік тому +18

But on the other hand you see that Clive attempted to revive Joshua and it seemingly worked since his body healed, while Clive laid weak despite the petrification, closing his eyes after implying he did die from the toll Ultima's power put on him, which is consistent with the story telling us the body would be expended from it. Following that the star dying and Jill's heartbreak, Torgal doing a mournful howl with her. Then the author of the book likely being from a revived Joshua chronicling the events of the game and Clive's adventure from his perspective, something Clive would've done had he been the one to return, indirectly passing that responsibility to Joshua, Harpocrates suggesting Clive would've wanted it.

This ending fucked me up SOOOO BAD. I was in hysterics for over an hour. I just shut down completely. Those ending scenes with Joshua just butchered me. Talk about a cheap shot. That was deliberately below the belt with steel-toe boots. What really got me though is that his mother was included in the one scene when he could have easily just removed her from his memories, but after everything that twat did he still put her there. Clive was easily one of the best protagonist in the entire series. I was the same way with Dion, too lol I was screaming at the tv like "WHAT ABOUT TERENCE?!?! DO YOU NOT LOVE HIM???!!!! YOU HAVE TERENCE TO LIVE FOR!!!" lol This game just tore me apart. The after credits scene though made all that pain and all that suffering worthwhile. At least it didn't end for nothing. He will tell Clive that “once this fight is over, Clive should consider putting the sword down and perhaps pick up a quill (pen)” … to write a book. So with that post credit scene, showed us that that story book was written by Clive in memory of his brother, Joshua.

The game has a really good formula for pacing where after every Eikon fight you have a small scale fetch quest to help you decompress. I think it would make more sense to have those particular quests appear before the Brotherhood mission

The quote that most sticks with me during the end game side quests is:
"Truth" is dependent on mass belief, this also means that the "Truth" is not immutable and may be changed.
Vivian is the one who states this regarding Valisthaen history and I think it was a hidden message from the developers that if the community see it fit that Clive lives then so be it. In essence it means that Clive is not uncategorically dead and that's enough for me.

Finally decided to look up "Logos" to see if I could find another definition to help that part make a little more sense to me, because I knew that "logo" is latin for word, as in logophile (which describes me)
So this is interesting, "logos," in theology, means "the word of God," the divine reason and creative order, and the second person (Jesus) in the Holy Trinity. Also, Carl Jung uses the term to describe the principle of reason and judgement in regards to animus, the male part of the psyche. This make sense to me, as Clive, and humanity in general, develop their own wills and self actualize. It's also cool to me that Clive has, in a sense, attained divine enlightenment as opposed to that of "God," Ultima. I so love these thematic reversals, where "God" in this is more akin to a devil, and the Jesus-like figure promotes faith in oneself rather than faith in a God (and is an outlaw to boot)

1:37:39 - Square Enix is gloating over the fact - They gave you the feeling they hoped for
2:07:38 - Square Enix apologizes for hurting you so badly you need a moment to collect yourself before trying NG+
    On your final thoughts -
•They should definitely allow switching Eikons in fights.
The only reason I think they didn't is because you could rotate-spam your abilities.
They could allow it for the normal abilities, and put a one-time popup when you do it that says like "Eikon abilities take time to blah blah when switched", and put bigger abilities for the new eikon (Gigaflare, diamond dust, etc) on cooldown when swapped.
I wouldn't even mind if they made ALL newly swapped in abilities go on cooldown when swapped.
•Motion blur got patched I think. It's got a slider now.
Also, definitely start your NG+ with the best items from the first playthrough, though they will be obsolete pretty quickly.

Jill couldn't go because her power was spent. That's why she was so weak during the game as Shiva. While all the other dominants used their powers sparingly, Jill was forced to use hers regularly. She would've gotten destroyed by Ultima from the start, her body was failing from the curse aswell. Thorgal would've Also been collateral since his powers (as great as they was) would never have matched up to Ultimas. He's a good doggo but he's arguably even weaker than Jill.
Lastly, I don't think Clive wanted her involved anyway. She bore the brunt of the "burdens" in the early-mid game until Clive finally tamed Ifrit. This is his way of asking her to live and let him "do his duty" I think.
Besides, Ultima would've targeted Jill straight away, she was what saved Clive to begin with when all hope was lost and became his reason to fight before he found out Josh was alive and their bond only grew stronger. Ultima would've relished killing her.

if you paid attention to the ending Jill crying all night then sunrise she stopped and smiled then black screen and Clive says : "tus our Journey end", remind me of Clive and Jill in the flower scene "no matter how dark the night dawn will come and that you will come for me Clive" and near the end "i will come back, i promise, i love you".
the game theme song is about Jill wish "Clive returning to her", also the book in the post credit by "joshua rosfield" at first you think that joshua made it but i can say it could be that Clive wrote it and used Joshua name to honour his memory there is a quest with Hippocrates where Clive say : "i may start writing after the sword".., also maybe Clive and Jill had a son and named him Joshua and he who wrote the book about his father...

And just towards the end he gets to reunite with Joshua and get close to Jill! And like you said, Clive breaking all his promises and dying alone at the beach and Jill staying alone. This is the saddest end ever! And like you said, I also thought that everything in the storyline was being built towards a time together. In storytelling there is something called "planting and harvesting" and it's used in movies, on stage and games. And my interpretation now is that there is a potential for more. So at first I was totally shocked but the more I thought about it the less it made sense to end like that. And yes, on the date she said that after the dawn the sun comes back, that he will come back to her and her reaction, first breaking down and then the sun rises and she remembers. Of course they could also have chosen to just let us experience pain and loss (not that it didn't hapen all the time in the game) but I hope not! Fingers crossed for a continuing of this story!

Meanwhile we take control of Jill who hears of some new threat. During the story she gets to this new continent and finds Clive and helps him bring back his memory. Meanwhile the defeat of Ultima released another very powerful godlike being who was trapped on Metia by the Fallen as it was deemed too dangerous and too powerful for Ultima to defeat. The second game ends with Clive, Jill and others fighting against said being.

    • @TuskyBaby
      @TuskyBaby 11 місяців тому

The game is written from Clive's perspective, but clearly still by Joshua. Clive writing a flattering book about himself is borderline character assassination. Joshua was always the one compared to Moss the Chronicler, shown to document his journey, and even has a way with words that Clive doesn't. Harpocrates gave him the quill because he figured Clive had many experiences worth writing about, but Clive himself never shows the inclination.
Clive died. Its not only what the game literally portrays at face value, but its WAY more narratively satisfying. For Clive to just... get up after that whole scene with him on the beach just completely negates the effectiveness of the scene and ending as a whole.
Joshua only survived because Clive used Ultima's power on him in time. Before Clive sacrifices himself to create a new world, he takes a single "selfish" action in using that power to Raise Joshua.

@@TuskyBaby you don’t have enough evidence to truly back up your claims due to the ambiguous and contradictory nature of the ending. Nothing about the story was flattering.
Your first point is subjective. I can find a path where someone as educated and well trained in verse and theatrical presentation is able to write eloquently. His response to receiving the quill, is maybe I will.
I’m not advocating that Clive just “got up.” There is not enough lore about Metia to suggest what the fading actually means. We also saw Clive partially gray, when death consumes the whole.
Last, saving Joshua “in time?” Really? Were we playing the same game? Boy had a hole in chest where we presume the heart is and he literally drew his last breath. We also established time and again, that NO magic (even the combined might of Ultima) can raise the dead. It can also be seen as Clive attempting and failing to raise his brother, but also making him “whole” to take in his beauty and love (loved ones not wanting to see the dead maimed, but rather see them as they remembered them in life - like what we do at open casket funerals).
And there is no “new world creation.” It is a world devoid of magic that, as stated could take decades to centuries to recover from the damage. Ironically, we also know only of the effects of this calamity on one continent.
At the end of the day, the story was ended with people being able to choose the ending that seems right to them after experiencing it. I’m merely pointing out that it is exceptionally rare, and nonsensical when used, for a narrator to outlive themself in the story they are telling.
Also, Joshua could be a descendent of Clive or someone with their namesake. Not enough info is known.
Whereas, as an example, we get an omnipotent view in Cowboy Bebop, where the lore established early on indicates that the star fading equates to Spike’s death.
We can also suggest that this is a story within a story where magic actually never existed and it was a made up fantasy by a guy name Joshua Rosfield (having no actual relation to the Joshua we see in the game).

I mean, your only "concrete evidense" is still fairly subjective. You're calling Clive's 2 post-mortem narrations "exceptionally rare" and "nonsensical" rather than engaging with the idea that its just a creative choice. The game is told from his perspective, so it makes sense to have him narrate at the beginning. It then also makes sense to keep that consistent for the 1 other time it comes up.
I misspoke with the "new world" comment, but Clive still currently has the power to make that. Also, the only comments made about bringing someone back from the dead are related to the Phoenix's power, not Ultima's. There's nothing saying Ultima, the literal creator of humanity, can't do it. Genuinely, if you can point to where the game contradicts what I'm saying I'd be very interested in reading it.
Also also, Joshua is never confirmed dead in that moment. He's bleeding out and passes out, but FF7 Remake literally has characters still live after these sorts of "death" scenes. We have no real idea of how much time passes from when Joshua passes out to when Clive heals up his body. Tarja wasn't exactly there to declare him dead. If you want to get even more into the weeds with this, Joshua is shown to essentially revive Clive IN THIS VIDEO. Its right after Dion sacrifices himself. Clive isn't breathing, and he's been in that condition for at least a couple minutes. Joshua just uses a bit of Phoenix magic and boom, he's up again shortly after. This also wouldn't be the first time Joshua, the Phoenix, rose from the dead. Just saying, the game AND company have set a certain precedent.
Tbh the final theory you mentioned about it all being just a story is preferable (imo) to Clive still surviving in the end. It probably makes the most sense of all this, because there are still so many bits of info that anyone could use to argue either side. The boss fights in particular seem like something right out of the imagination of a child (I mean this in the best way), so combine that with the older and younger brothers' hair colors matching up with Clive and Joshua's, and I think its very reasonable to assume the whole game is from their imagination.
Setting that possibility aside though, I will always maintain Clive sacrificing himself to remove magic and save his brother in the process, thus ensuring he did his duty until the end, makes for a more narratively satisfying conclusion than Clive surviving that whole ordeal. His death flags are pretty blaring, and only seem to be obscurred by how bright and overwhelming Dion's are. 🤣

@@TuskyBaby Dion survived the fall damage (because if Joshua can, so can Dion). Joshua and Clive die. Also an option.
It’s a creative choice that is also lazy and uninteresting - if the dead speak, then Clive is undead. Again, everything you or I say is pointless because there isn’t enough information to prove either until we get DLC (if we get it, and if it continues versus a prequel).
I’m not saying you’re wrong. But I’m also saying no one is right.
If we really want to bring in past narratives, then technically everyone died in FF13 too. Lmfao
But the last I’ll say, is they were definitive in saying magic, “nor that of the phoenix can revive the dead.” That is to say in addition to. Ultima wants to sustain itself and also knows it cannot conquer death. At the start of the story we don’t actually see Joshua die either. The way Eikons work in 14 and 16 is virtually the same. They can be reconjured and have the capacity to regenerate, without permanent consequences to the host - unless the attacker fully depletes the host Aether/lifeforce, Clive blacks out (doesn’t finish the job) and Joshua was incapacitated- we know the order removed Joshua from the scene.
If you posit that Joshua died twice (or more than once), then that is definitively proof that the story is contradictory in nature.

2:05:14 Like me it seems he may have missed what the Final Fantasy book that was written by “Joshua
    Rosfield “ could mean.
It could mean either Joshua and/or Clive lived to write it following the events. Since the books seemed to cover everything to the end… you could see it as Clive being the only one there with Ultima to add that end in and having used Joshua’s name to honor him like he did with Cid.
But personally I took him healing Joshua as his reviving him somehow. It’s not clear how he would have gotten to safety… but it doesn’t make sense the game develops would add that seen if it didn’t point to something.
I suppose he could have done it just to have Joshua’s body be more “presentable” but why would that be included in the climax/finale of the game. Where they show him heal Joshua’s wounds just for the sake of respect and appearances I suppose. But I personally am taking it as with although the Phoenix didn’t have powers to revive the dead, while being able to revive those extremely close to death. However with all the other Eikon’s strength and Ultima’s power it’s possible his Phoenix ability to heal could have been strengthened to the ability to revive.
I like how that was his final act before using Ultima’s power to destroy magic entirely. The end showing the kid lighting the fire the normal way versus a bearer or using a crystal points to either magic has been completely eliminated and balance restored so the blight can no longer exist/spread or it could mean the possibility of magic still exists but there are no crystal left years later with all the mother crystals being destroyed. I take it as magic being gone forever otherwise the mother wouldn’t have said magic belongs in fairy tales… she would have said something a long the lines of we can afford a bearer or it’s not fair to use them knowing what it does to them. It seems to me with Clive having absorbed all Eikons and crystals being destroyed if magic still did exist, bearers would be the only ones who can use it. Therefore her statement to him seems simple enough to suggest magic is gone all together…. At least from human knowledge at the point of that cutscene.
The end definitely left stuff up to interpretation. I adored this game. I’m currently halfway through my NG+ playthrough.

With all the speculation about the ending.
Its extremely likely that Clive survived with his arm/hand turned to stone.
Side quest info + character quirks like Clive using many different names. Clive narrating. Joshua saying in the tutorial "dont die, i cant bring you back" (pheonix not having that power)
Plus it was his left hand shown to turn which is the one he used Ultima's magic with.
Until we see otherwise this is what i will believe.
Lastly you must be happy that nearly all your nit picks have been fixed already

    My final thoughts about this?
I love Final Fantasy XVI so much more than XV.
Is it my most favourite game of the franchise?
That would be hard to say but I think it is in my personal top 3.
And since those top 3 are all very different games, the others being IX and XII, both of which I love for very different reasons, I find it impossible to say which one I like most.
Anyways, with XV I had three main problems:
    1. I did not like the characters well enough.
It was basically a boy band on a road trip with their band leader being someone I simply could not connect with in any way, shape or form.
XVI is far superior in that regard.
Clive is a great protagonist and his companions are all very interesting and likeable, chief among them Torgal of course.
    2. XV had a lot of tell don't show, meaning a lot of very important stuff happened but was not actually shown.
Thusly the story did not work well enough for me.
Final Fantasy games have typically a very complex story. But when important elements of these stories are missing I find it rather hard to keep being interested.
XVI solved this problem easily since it basically showed each and everything it could possibly show.
Whatever hardship arises, whatever problem shows up at the horizon, we experience it together with the characters.
We even get to see some of the antagonists turmoils.
Hugo Kupka is an outright villain, but I cannot say I didn't feel for him when he Benediktas' head was given to him in a box.
The man lost possibly the one person he ever loved and he learned it in such a gruesome way.
I cannot say I do not understand why he snapped at this point.
Such a level of detail is magnificent.
    3. XV had a fun villain but the final boss fight was a complete let-down.
Ardyn was interesting and one of the few characters I actually liked in XV. However when it comes to the final boss fight......
The game itself spoils the fight against Ifrit, which really ruins the surprise.
    And Ardyn?
A one-vs-one battles is fine was the first phase, but...... that's all? Seriously?
Sorry to say it but I find the final battle in XV on the rather pathetic side.
    And XVI?
Well, you probably just watched it.
This is easily one of the most intense final boss battles I have ever experienced.
It has virtually everything one could possibly wish for, takes it and gives it back times ten.
    It is an epic fight.
Thinking about it...... is there a more epic final boss fight in the franchise?
Ultimecia was pretty intense, but the way VIII does its' battles doesn't allow for the quickness of an action battle like what we have here.
Vayne has a cool third phase, but the first two phases are pretty standard when it comes to final boss battles. Not bad but not on the same level as XVI.
Lightning Returns has a pretty epic final boss fight.
But if I have to choose between Bhunivelze and Ultima...... Ultima has the better battle because it is way more emotional.
Bhunivelze is a very distant antagonist. Contrary to that we have come to hate Ultima by the time the game ends.
Which leads me to the only real challenger I guess....... Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The lead-up battles against those...... things...... are pretty cool, though they are nothing but appetizers before we get to the main course.
Also both battles, the one against Sephiroth as well as the one against Ultima have me emotionally invested.
Honestly I am not entirely sure if I want to choose between them.
Lastly a remark to all those people who critized Final Fantasy XVI before it was even released.......
The game looks great but the story has no depth.......
Let's boycott the game since it is not diverse enough........
    ........
You guys didn't actually play the game, did you?
Anyways, Final Fantasy XVI is awesome.
    I love it.
And I hope for sure they make some great story DLCs some time soon. Something like what they did with the Xenoblade Chronicles games would be nice.
    So....... I will be waiting.

The ending hit me SO fucking hard, dude.
However, after some reflection, I'm not actually a fan of about the last 4th of the game all that much. It's pretty much just the same story as Xenogears/Xenoblade. God makes humanity so he can save himself, sees humans as tools, humans don't like that, beat god with the power of friendship, make a new world with no gods. It's really surprising to me how good the writers for FFXVI were for the whole game right up until Ultima casts Primogenesis. After that point, things just became a generic anime basically. I don't get how they were SO competent and creative for most of the game and then just threw all of that creativity out the window in order to tell a story like dozens of other JRPG creators have told before. Just...why? Did they seriously not have ANY new ideas on how to end their story??? Not a single one??? Just leaves me with nothing to think about or reflect upon by the end. It was just a story about humans being humans in generic ways. There were some good character arcs in there, but none of them were especially revolutionary. They felt good at the time, but they don't stick out in my memory like a Joel Miller, Cloud Strife, or Kratos.
Ultimately, FFXVI was a really flashy experience, but all of that pizzazz never translated into any *ideas* that will really stay with me. The titan fight and bahamut fight will stay with me because they were insane and crazy, but they're just cool boss fights.
I'd say this game was about as impactful as an Octopath Traveler game. Fun while it lasts, an enjoyable experience, something I'd recommend, but I'm not gonna swear by it. For a mainline FF entry, I guess I kind of just expected them to swing for the fences, and while they did from a production standpoint, they really didn't from an *ideas* standpoint. It could also be argued they haven't done that in over a decade, so maybe I should have stopped hoping a long time ago, but still, their whole marketing push was "this is going to put FF back on the map." As it is, FFXVI is not the kind of game I would consider being "on the map." Death Stranding was more interesting, God of War Ragnarok was more interesting, Elden Ring was more interesting, Nier Automata was more interesting, like there have been games within the last 5 years that have been had way more interesting ideas than this game, and I just think it's a real shame that such a behemoth of a franchise can't do anything more than be flashy.

I really like the game for the gameplay and I enjoy having a long MMO to work my way through, but I think the music is unimpressive and the story is all over the place. I loved the climactic fight at the end of ARR, I loved the events in Ul'Dah right at the end of post-ARR, I loved all the stuff with any of the dragons in Heavensward, I loved the Yotsuyu storyline post-Stormblood, and I love the setting shift in Shadowbringers and I'm really enjoying the dynamic between Thancred and Menphilia and how complicated their relationship is, but at the same time I hated how they wrapped up/butchered the Ul'Dah storyline, I hated everything with Thordran and Azys Lla, I hated pretty much everything in post-Heavensward, I couldn't care less about almost anything in Stormblood, and I really can't stand the constant fakeout deaths of pretty much anyone and everyone to the point where nothing feels impactful anymore. The fact that, where I'm at in the story, the ONLY characters that have actually died are Haurchefant and Papalymo is laughable. Haurchefant was just a good guy, too bad he had to go like that, not nearly as traumatic as everyone acts like it is, and Papalymo was a total nobody that left no impression on me whatsoever.
I will readily admit that I pretty much haven't been disappointed with anything in Shadowbringers yet and I immediately see why everyone loves Emet-Selch so much, but looking at FFXIV as a whole I just can't say that it's anywhere close to the top of my personal FF list. I haven't played 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, or 11 and only made it halfway through 8, but of the ones I've played, I'd pretty much only put it above 4 and LR. I've had such an infinitely more even experience with all the other games and they all left a better impression on me than XIV has so far. The good moments are not nearly strong enough to counteract the mountains of awful or just mediocre moments.
      To each their own though.

This is me nitpicking but you don't need to be cracking jokes in every single scene, otherwise good gameplay.

So.. for the ppl that didnt pay atention.
    Clive is dead.
    Joshua is dead.
Dion is uncertain if that last blast and the fall killed him.
Now for the healing scene - Clive healed his brothers body as he didnt wanted to see it defiled like that. Ppl spinning the "he is alive" clearly didnt pay atention to what Clive says about the power he has. And ppl asking "why heal him if he is dead" i'll ask you this, When a person dies, why bathe him and clean him up to look presentable for his burial? smh...
Now for the book - The Book at the end was indeed writen by Joshua as Tomes mentions that in a sidequest, that he is recording everything that happend on their journey. Now for who finish and publishes it, either Tomes himself or Jote (that some ppl seem to forget that she exists and the book might be in her possession after they fly off to the crystal which i bet thats the case).
Now for my favorite.. Metia and the Moon along with Jill and their meaning
Some ppl rly either misinterpreted or just didnt pay atention to what it was said so here
Jill often mentions Metia and how she ALWAYS KNOWS CLIVE IS OK and WILL COMEBACK when SHE LOOKS AT THE SKY because Metias light was like a signal that he was alive
This gets mentioned soooo many times and its how its linked to the ending of the star losing its light when Clive passes away. Jills reaction is the understanding of this and why she cries.
The Sunrise - Jill looking at sunrise and "stops crying" is not Clive coming back but she is looking at the fulfilment of their journey, to give the world a new beginning and since runrise is tied to beginnings, thats the only meaning it has here.
Now... i love this game but i hate this ending. We followed the journey of a man who lost it all, gave himself to revenge only to find out he was the one to blame. Gets saved by those from his past (Jill and Torgal) and new companions (Cid, Gav and the whole lot). Loses his mentor but gains hope that his Brother is alive. Goes on to make a bunch of promises (the more meaningful ones to Jill like traveling the world together and stuff) only to just fulfill one which is cleanse the world from magic... and dies when everyone around him told him to LIVE this through, specially Cid..
We do have hope, and for those questioning this hope is called Leviathan. Clive never had the perfect Vessel and that was Ultimas miscalculation and the main reason why its plan would never worked out like Clive mentions it at the end (not directly but he does mention that the power he has with that vessel are not all that it is)
We all know that the Perfect Vessel is all the Eikons fused into one body so my take on it is that the Leviathan DLC will give us a diferent ending IF THE DEVS make it so... which i hope they do.
I loved every single step i took with Clive and everyone around him and i truly think that this aint the way to end this story. The man deserves a happier ending

    • @blango-san
      @blango-san 8 місяців тому

dude, what a troll. Clive is dead, he said himself that this vessel is not strong enough. but Joshua is alive. we don't see him write no book during the whole game, not even a hint of it. he did it after the game's events. which means he survived.
the game pulled FFX here on us - we thought Joshua would be the one to die, but the game subverts it at the very end.

    • @pod27
      @pod27 8 місяців тому

@blango-san Troll? Ok.. huh.. Tomes mentions that Joshua is writing a book about all they experienced and that he would be a great scholar one day. If you missed this then.. i'm sorry? This explains the book bit.
Also who publishes the book? You have some options.. Tomes, Jote or even Jill..
Now the "Joshua is alive" bit. He is not. I would love to be wrong, but everything points that he isn't. He died after he gave Clive the Phoenix Eikon. And if you want to pull the "he healed him at the end so he is alive", then u missed the meaning of that "heal". I went through the game multiple times, all the side quests again and tried to find anything that would pull away from what i've said and found nothing. You can disagree with what i've said, i dont mind, everyone has their opinions and views about things, but dont call me a troll.

    • @blango-san
      @blango-san 8 місяців тому

@@pod27 now did Tomes say exactly that, in those words? I honestly don't remember, but what I do remember is that Tomes said that Joshua _might_ become a great scholar one day, referencing to his thorough study of Ultima, which did nit entail any book whatsoever.

    • @pod27
      @pod27 8 місяців тому

@@blango-san i forgot when exactly he mentions this but its shortly after Joshua joins the hideaway. But basicly the book is a product of both the Undying and Joshua. I paused my latest playthrough rn to wait for the second DLC and will prolly do another full play. i will then record when these bits of info come out. Sry i cant be more accurate. But you are on point there, Tomes does say that, that he has a "rare gift".

I'm one of the people who prefer Clive to be dead. I hate the ' only MC survive' trope.
It's either all survive or all dead for me.
Joshua's death scene was great. It would feel cheap to bring Joshua back after that tribute imo.
As for Dion, if Clive can go the offscreen survive trope, so can he lol. He defo need that because his death is unneeded and unsatisfactory.

Please dont make this another instance of over analyzing the "blue curtains"..... The book has Joshua's name on it because he wrote it... he is alive.... God i hate when people try to find some deep meaning behind some straight forward detail where there is none. You'd all make great english teachers though -_-
