I think the reason why the last duel with Juarez happened is so the brothers would think they were safe for the next 17 years, thinking that Juarez is dead and all
That is one thing I liked about Bound in Blood. It can work as a standalone story or as a prequel to the first game. The immediate plot is resolved within that game, including Juarez.
@MrHammers I like how even if you use the most powerful gun (the Superb Volcano Gun) and hit him directly in the head, you still don't find his body......you can still pick up ammo and money from where he fell though.
This is a textbook sequel. Improves upon the best parts of the first game and trims the unneeded fat with only a few minor hiccups (ie the duels). It's amazing
The guy sucked. I was eleven years old playing the game and yet I still enjoyed the duels. Sure, i sucked initially, but i got better and they were genuinely fun. He sucks and doesn't want to get better so he just complains. Edit: Apparently, duels with M&k are much more difficult, so his frustration is understandable. Duels are still great with controllers though.
I remember laughing so hard when Ray shot Devlin, saw that bullet coming from a mile away. Poor William accidentally just making it more and more worth it to pull the trigger. I forgot how much I loved this game, good memories playing it and all the Western movies and tv shows I watched growing up

The thing about that duel thing in this game is that most later ones are really tight, so you need to grab the gun and shoot as fast as you can. And since the crossair is going up it caused me killing almost everyone in duels by shooting enemy in the balls.
You didn't mention that Ray is the only one who can dual wiel in basic gameplay (not door knocking segments) which actually made me pick him over and over again when I had a choice. It's pretty important, considering how choice defining this is. Cheers.

Playing Ray and Thomas was such an adventure and actually grew my love for westerns a huge underrated game like Gun that I hope/think is starting to get appreciation and that makes me happy. And yes the dueling made me rage too :)
If I’d played these games back when they came out, I’d have honestly been extremely disappointed by how this game ends. The point in the first game, where Rey admits to shooting his younger brother, and out of sheer guilt, dedicating himself to the lord afterwards, actually made me tear up. Seeing that event unfold in this game, was so unsatisfying, since the stupid confederate guy shows up to completely suck the air out of what SHOULD have been the most emotionally heavy scene in the entire game. But putting that aside… I’d also have hoped they make a remake of the first game at some point. Thomas and Marisa were given such deep characterization, that I can’t help but feel cheated when going back to the first game, and seeing that they don’t even get a line before they’re corpses on the ground. And the game never really has either Rey or Billy take a moment to think about their deaths. I’d want a remake of the first game to have the opening sequence actually have Billy meet up with Marisa and Thomas, and have Thomas make Billy do basic chores, which would replace the subpar tutorial sequence we get at the barn at the beginning of the first game. The story would then take a turn when Billy decides to steal Thomas’s old six shooters, so he can skip town again. Marisa had been trying to convince Thomas to give Billy one more chance, and Thomas had only done so begrudgingly. But when he hears Billy firing his six shooters, he comes running to beat the boy. Then THAT could be where we cut to Rey’s perspective. That way, we might assume that Billy killed Thomas and Marisa is a self-defense situation gone bad, unlike in the real game, where Marisa’s only line if dialogue, a scream, let’s us know immediately that whatever threat killed them, was there before Billy arrived.
I agree 100% running river should've killed barnsby in the ghost town, the game should've ended when William died. And I think you're idea on one is fantastic, give us more of a glimpse at his Thomas and Marissa are to Billy, let Billy spend some time with them. I'd love to see the first game remade with the idea of the prequel in mind

I honestly didn’t have that much trouble with the duels in this game. Yeah, I died a few times to some of the tougher challenges, but once I got the hang of it, it wasn’t too much. Trick is to keep the hand as close as possible to the gun without actually touching it, and then quickly yank down on the mouse once the bell rings. If the opponent is centered in your view, the draw should be quick and you just shoot them since the aim is mostly automatic.

The single player mode was amazing but the multiplayer mode was super fun too. I bought this game to tide me over while waiting for Red Dead Redemption to release, turns out I chose wisely.
One of the best western games ever! I grew to like it by the time. The only flaw is the awkward hit detection. Foe instance sometimes you don't hit a target with a shotgun if you'd shoot slightly on one side. The spread was not so well made back in the day.

You just blew my mind when you revealed Carlos Alazraqui voiced William, considering how he and Deputy James Garcia are on two whole different wavelengths! Overall I still have fond memories of Bound in Blood despite last playing it in 2015, especially the main characters, but hot DAMN Marisa was garbage. All she did was whine and mope in between getting tossed around and caressing the shoulders of every other head honcho to the point it made me wonder just what in the hell the McCall brothers saw in her, especially when they nearly kill each other over whose getting into Marisa's pants first. Which is weird, because her character model totally betrays her personality considering it's a gunslinger get-up stolen from Salma Hayek's Bandida's wardrobe yet she only handles a gun once in the whole game. It makes me wonder if it was intended for a whole different character that got cut and they just slapped Marisa's head onto the body. Game Dev can be weird that way.

So strange: I loved the missions where Billy the Candle explored his surroundings and used his whip. Shooting is good enough but the atmosphere comes from the landscape, the possibility to discover stuff and to live in the world presented.
I just wish this game has a proper patch where it fixes the issue when you start the game and the game crashes after a few seconds into the first cutscenes. I know about the fix that can be done with the audio setting, but on my PC it doesn't allow me to do it
I have no idea why people complain about the duels. Each took me 2 attemps maximum on hard difficulty on pc, seemed like a very nice cherry on top mini game. Probably you guys didn't read the tutorial carefully.
Damn bro, did you emphasise that it is a polish game studio because of my previous comment under CoJ1 video? That's kinda cool if it's true, and that's also the first time I watched RAID: Shadow Legends ad from start to finish 😏
Thomas was actually a lieutenant not a sergeant that's why in the scene when they get confronted by O'Donnell he tells him to ease up because he outranked him and the dueling was easier on Xbox 360 I never played the first but bound in blood and gunslinger I did and dueling was tricky but much easier to get the hang of
Watched on release back again yo rewatched and comment try and give you a little algorithm bump love this it's my favourite of the series just edging out Gunslinger maybe that would change after replaying them even though I really dislike The Cartel I'm interested to see how you feel about it. Edit: I really loved the multiplayer was it anything special no but I found it super fun 17 year old me played many many hours of it
@@MrHammers Yeah mostly I just found it's super generic and boring it's clearly built for co-op in mind I didn't use that mode so maybe it's better that way but theres a segment where you're driving on a highway and if you have no friend with you then you're just going to spend that time with a red screen as you cant shoot back so you're stuck just driving hoping you don't die, there really wasn't anything I enjoyed I didn't like any of the 3 characters they're meant to play differently but felt the same to me the gameplay really is super generic with slow mo door breaching etc the bullet time is also now just the basic slow mo no cool abilities between characters (don't quote me on that I could be wrong I'm thinking back to 2011 here) oh submachine guns share ammo with assault rifles for some reason not like it matters all the guns feel the same, I remember the audio being terrible during cutscenes at times aswell, Bound in Blood is graphically a better looking game despite being the older game, the maps lack the atmosphere of Bound in Blood like its just bland and ugly, I can't comment on the story as I don't remember it at all. I'm sure there's more I hated at the time I just can't think of it right now sorry for the poorly formatted wall of text but hey I don't remember dueling anyone so there's a pro music was alright too Edit: I played this on PS3 and that may play into finding it ugly also performance was below 30fps at times that's likely just a console problem I atleast hope it is

Nombre mijo give me the medallion 🔥
Bound in Blood is such an awesome game!
You should check out the Brothers in Arms series it is such a good series
Great franchise, gave me hope that Gearbox would do a great Aliens FPS. But then Greasy Randy did what he does best. Still waiting for that game lol.
@@Gruntvc lol
Very fun game honestly I don't dislike any of em it's honestly a very fun series.
I'm excited this game was so good, gives me hope for the rest of the series
@@MrHammers can we watch the gameplay via stream lol
Yeah maybe! If not the cartel then gunslinger for sure
Hellfire sent me over & congrats on the 50k subs. Looks like my kind of channel, it was an easy sub 👍
🙏
congratulations on getting a sponsor
Haha thanks! I've done a few now, don't want to do them on every vid but once every couple of months helps
What's you mean by "Duels are not fun"? I love duels in whole CoJ series.
I just wish this game has a proper patch where it fixes the issue when you start the game and the game crashes after a few seconds into the first cutscenes. I know about the fix that can be done with the audio setting, but on my PC it doesn't allow me to do it
You can play co op on the PlayStation version! It's super fun
12:55 is the campaign playable in co-op?
13:35 oh
Great retrospect, i'm excited to see the cartel one since that game gained a bad rep back in the days.
Same! I'm curious to see if it's actually that bad haha
Just a badass early 2000s games u must play
10:51 welp, I can predict he’ll die and be the catalyst for the other one becoming the Bible thumper then.
You gotta play Time Splitters Future Perfect. Fantastic game from my childhood. Would love to see it
Damn I loved this game so much growing up
I love this game everytime I hear Ray though I can't help but think of gul dukat from ds9
I have no idea why people complain about the duels. Each took me 2 attemps maximum on hard difficulty on pc, seemed like a very nice cherry on top mini game. Probably you guys didn't read the tutorial carefully.
Are you gonna do COJ:Gunslinger next?
Cartel next, then gunslinger 🤠
@@MrHammers You’ll be saving the best for the last. I’m excited for the Cartel analysis. I wanna know why people hate it so much.
I've been looking at all your western game vids. And I see that manor in this game is the same as Breitwairt (or how it's written) from RDR2.
THEY GOT DANTE BOSCOE!?!?!?!?!
Damn bro, did you emphasise that it is a polish game studio because of my previous comment under CoJ1 video? That's kinda cool if it's true, and that's also the first time I watched RAID: Shadow Legends ad from start to finish 😏
Thanks! And nah I don't think so lol did I not mention they were polish in the first video? Haha 😅
I recently picked up a cheap PS3 copy of Bound In Blood, Good timing lol.
Raid? Nah, I'd rather not. Now a new big budget Chrome sequel? Sign me up.
Good timing indeed! Enjoy your game!
Thomas was actually a lieutenant not a sergeant that's why in the scene when they get confronted by O'Donnell he tells him to ease up because he outranked him and the dueling was easier on Xbox 360 I never played the first but bound in blood and gunslinger I did and dueling was tricky but much easier to get the hang of
thank you for making this video I didn't have an interest in this series until your videos
Watched on release back again yo rewatched and comment try and give you a little algorithm bump love this it's my favourite of the series just edging out Gunslinger maybe that would change after replaying them even though I really dislike The Cartel I'm interested to see how you feel about it.
Edit: I really loved the multiplayer was it anything special no but I found it super fun 17 year old me played many many hours of it
Thanks dude, curious what did you dislike about the cartel?
I'm sure there's more I hated at the time I just can't think of it right now sorry for the poorly formatted wall of text but hey I don't remember dueling anyone so there's a pro music was alright too
Edit: I played this on PS3 and that may play into finding it ugly also performance was below 30fps at times that's likely just a console problem I atleast hope it is
Wow that sounds awful lol. I can't wait to experience it
@@MrHammers hopefully you don't find it as bad as I did maybe you've been told it sucks so much that your expectations are so low so it'll pleasantly surprise you atleast for your sake I hope that's the case.
That's kinda what happened with condemned 2 haha we shall see
I thinkThomas became a evil person when he realized billy was not his son (we never see marisa telling him that, so he problably only noticed it was a son of juarez after the kid was born with a dark skin
I'm stuck on the carriage ride.. hard to aim with how it bounces your aim and there's so many guys they kill me so fast.
It's infuriating.
