Thanks to you I also practice my English haha xD ..In my case my favorite store is AmiAmi since they use the “Air Small Packet Registered”shipping service; this one is cheaper than others and my figures arrive safely in excellent condition. Sometimes I use EMS for larger and expensive figures. Anyway, It’s wonderful to have very similar tastes in figures and I really appreciate the work and dedication in your videos. I feel the same about Solaris they are inflated with their prices but they are reliable and a great place to go if figures are out of stock elsewhere! I like using taobao with superbuy as a proxy for Chinese figures as for figures that have been released they don’t seem to increase in price that much on the Chinese market but are very expensive on the Japanese market. Anyway can’t wait for your next video 😊

It is funny that everybody says solaris is more expensive with preorders because that is not what I experienced at all. I have peordered a couple of figures from them and they were either cheaper than ami ami or the same price. I just think you have to be quick because hey seem to change their prices after a while. Another great shop with the cheapest prices is CD-Japan. All my latest preorders I placed on there because of their prices. Also shipping prices are pretty decent for me. I have not received a figure yet but I would recommend them. If you like to purchase figures up front they seem to be the best. -saphira

In October I had to contact Nin-Nin-Game because of an order/payment issue (it didn’t go through so I just wanted to cancel my order all together after seeing reviews of N2G). They took care of it really quickly! I have been steering clear of them since buuuuut they had a figure that no other retailer had so I decided to take a chance on it (in stock, not preorder) and it is in process so I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞
Update: I received the in-stock figure last week and had a missing postcard. I contacted their customer service and they got back to me within a few days. They told me where to find the postcard (actually inside the flap of one of the boxes since they try not to alter the seals) and it was there. I will definitely buy from N2G again.

I really need to try Amazon Japan! I’m in Hawaii, and US stores charge oversea shipping prices to send things here. I usually do Amiami with the slowest shipping, but it’s killing me (emotionally). Amiami usually takes a month to ship the figure, and it’s been taking the full four months after that to reach me. 😭 The early bird specials at Solaris can be genuinely good deals. With shipping, the Max Factory Ryza was $50 cheaper than the US sites before their shipping costs. Also, you dont need to apologize for not having tons of figures!!! I love the chatty videos. Personally, I can’t afford tons of figures either.

No EMS is killing me but the price for DHL isn't as horrendous, probably because I haven't tried to buy anything big from amiami yet...I got one nendoroid with some merch and the shipping cost me somewhere around $60 with duty and all. It's still expensive for the fact that it's basically the price for another nendo but still... With DHL any price below $100 could be considered as "not cheap but not that bad".
I personally don't like Nin-Nin that much since they've made it kind of hard for me to cancel a pre-order I made but their prices are very good. My favorite is Ami-Ami since their shipping is actually very good for me (I live in the US) for example I only payed around $28 to ship a massive 1/6 figure.

Has ordered from all in your list, except Nin-nin, although I know DTTC Review do order from there - Nin’s reviews somewhat scare me. Has been hesitant so far. It’s great that Amazon JP do DHL for you. Where I am in Singapore, they don’t do DHL. It has been ECMS (which is comparable to EMS) for my last two orders. Solaris Japan has been great for me so far - but with Solaris it’s really all about the timing… anything beyond the reasonable PO timeframe and the price goes up. Solaris do quote high aftermarket for certain figure but you can find good rare figure with them if you are willing to splash the cash 😢. I do often find some rare figure for competitive price tho, especially ones of Original Character. One thing great about Solaris is also about the transparent upfront shipping rates altho Express for them is still EMS for me. I kind of wish they have a DHL option. Amiami shipping price is frankly scary. I usually select DHL as my first choice to know the pricing and was quoted 15k yen shipping for my Emilia Shiromuku 1/7 scale. Needless to say I sticked to EMS which is still around 5k yen.
Just to add on: Mandarake with its alert list has been fantastic. Although their description is quite ‘cute’ (as with Amiami rating of A/B). Stated unopened and package little damage but comes to me new with literally no flaw. Other than the above and GSC Global (for the very friendly 2k yen EMS), I have been gravitating towards the following: Yahoo Auction JP and Mercari for rare figures Taobao for the Chinese Manufacturers (like Apex and Myethos) and some. Low shipping but takes abit of patience to spot good sellers with credential and that it’s in Chinese.
Yeah I was scared at first too 😂 but I think I have about 6 POs with them now and I'm sure everything will be fine since my Ellie bunny got here all safe and sound! As a South African that moved to france, I feel your pain about SA postal service…your stuff will disappear 😭. Solaris and amiami are last ressorts for me. And sad thing about Solaris Japan is that they won’t give you details about the figure unless you buy it before, for example if a pre owned figure comes with their bonus part…😒
I'm South African and have used EMS quite a lot of times now. Even other cheaper shipping options like SAL (one time even without a tracking number) and my stuff have always arrived safely and still in good condition. So I had no experiences of stuff "disappearing" so I would say give EMS a try. I don't believe you'll be disappointed. Take note it will not be as fast as DHL. But with the covid situation still being a thing that makes sense. Most of mine arrived in 2/3 weeks time.
Great recommendations! I've been nervous about Nin nin game because of the negative reviews, but they really do seem to have figures I'm hunting for at good prices. I like to balance my preorders between solaris and ami ami (I live in the USA, so amiami shipping prices can be pretty ok for me). I like to pay for my pricier preorders up front so I don't have any surprises down the line so, as long as solaris has a good deal on a PO, I'll PO pricier figures from there and my cheaper figures from amiami. But I may turn to nin nin game for my figure hunting.
