Totally agree with you on Nenderoid prices. The Sakura Kagamihara from Yuru Camp is soooo simple, she has a cup of coffee, a cellphone, and two face plates. She is definitely overpriced. But I agree with the other thing you said, sometimes it’s worth it. I love her character and if this is the only figure of her we’re getting, I’m buying it. I also agree some characters need more than one figure. 🙂

For someone who has Rem on their Waifu list even understands when too much is too much. 😹 We all want variety for our favorite characters, but I'd rather have Haikyu scales over another Rem scale. Also with the increase of figure companies has allowed us collectors to choose from a variety of options! Also I'd def wait on Pop ups since their after market isn't high and if goodsmile keeps their word then you might get the chance to have Mitsuri in L pop up form.

new to figure collecting, and also fell into that rabbithole of seeing all the ladies on YT collecting large bunny figures and I didn't get it lol Aside from perhaps being a tactile stimulation thing from touching the stockings, I just didn't see the appeal, especially if theyre 1/4 size. I own two 1/7 figures rn and that's big enough for me, I cannot even imagine having a 1/4 and finding a spot to put that figure haha
Honestly they take up a lot of space haha, thankfully I only have one. I have a dedicated cabinet for them so they don't impact on too much space, I also keep them separate because I find it looks really weird having a 1/4 scale next to the smaller 1/7 but that's just my preference 😂 but like I said they're definitely overrated so I understand why you don't collect them!
I think the bunny problem has something to do with the price. It's much easier to be satisfied of a price figure you pay 30-60$ for than something as expensive as the quarter bunnies. I myself tend to be nitpicking on my more expensive scale figures than other cheaper options (even nendos. Some of them are definitely overpriced, but at the end of the day they're still not on the expensive side of this hobby unless you're paying that crazy aftermarket price for certain nendos) I don't have any bunnies, but even for my scales I tend to want them to be absolutely perfect. I'm paying that much for a piece of plastic so yeah my expectations are high. But the reality is even the most expensive figures could be flawed. The more I pay for it the more likely I'll be unhappy about the tiniest imperfections on the product I receive I definitely agree that figures are overpriced and that it's still worth it if it brings you joy! I'm guilty of paying aftermarket inflated price for figures I really want and I don't regret it. I know I've just said that I tend to be less satisfied with more expensive purchases, but when I have a tough day, looking at my figures and dusting them just to relax a little bit actually do make me feel better. So yeah, they're worth it. And yes, they're probably the most overpriced pieces of plastics you could find in the world. Those companies just know people are gonna pay arms and legs to get their favorite characters...At this rate I'll probably try to learn to sculpt and paint and make my own figures some day 😂 the inflation is crazy
Agreed! I can overlook imperfections on Kotobukiya figures because they are priced so well! But something that's like twice the price of that I tend to critique a little more because else why am I paying that extra amount you know. Hahaha they really are super expensive pieces of plastic 😂 but they really do bring so much joy like you say 💜
I mainly collect pop up parades due to how limited selections are in Scotland. All the ones I have are lovely quality. Maybe I got lucky. But the newest Promare monochrome Galo and Lio look fantastic. I cannot afford the really big scale figures (I have one of the 1:6 FFX Yuna...which I snagged second hand from someone) so I go for popup parade when physically shopping or figures from Dekai anime. I agree with the bunny thing.....I have one Bulma bunny figure but its based on one of her in amine costumes. And, I keep seeing the same blue haired girl statue everywhere....its the one you mentioned! I don't even know who she is and yet I see her absolutely everywhere!
they really need to up their standards for pop ups when it comes to face detailing, like the ones you showed some of them just look really weird lmao i'd like to see them have more unique poses too. they mostly all have the same boring standing pose and it gets really repetitive. something as simple as alphonse's (fma) pose makes his pop up look so much better compared to the others. especially with them now starting to make pop ups on a bigger scale, might as well buy a scale for that character rather than a bigger scaled version of a pop up the main thing that sucks with bunnies for me is definitely the price, i wish they offered them in a smaller scale

I think these are all fairly popular for sure (especially about Rem XD ) and the bunny comments are 100% true but I do love them as centerpieces for a collection or as kind of a size break in smaller figures so they def have their place! Also While I agree I love my Mamako bunny and have 2 more on order for rent a girlfriends XD Sweet video as always!

I think if you like a figure enough then yes it totally is worth it. I had Bellfine's Asuka as a grail for a while and she is very basic and I did pay a fair amount for her but when I got her it defiantly felt worth it because it made me so happy I owned her. Also yes! The recent pricing with figures has been pretty crazy, I have like 9 nendoroids ordered and only 3 scale figures ordered because even the most affordable companies (cough, cough, Goodsmile) have been upping their prices. There are so many good scale figures up for pre-order but the prices have been raised a little too much..

I like your balanced opinion on bunnies, you’re allowed to own bunnies and feel you want more from a bunny. I agree their eyes always look very matte and flat! Also I feel the same I don’t think bunny suits really would work with some of the characters I like as they are often more warrior focussed and it doesn’t seem in keeping with their personality. After your discussion on kotobukiya I was curious to ask your thoughts on the Shinobu figure. I know you own the alter but I have to say the kotobukiya one also looks amazing! Honestly I’m tempted by both Shinobu is such a lovely character 😊

Rem is just overrated to the max ! Her design is boring, there's barely no movement in her hair, she has nothing unique (no special facial expression, tattoo, scar, outfit, etc) since her horn is almost never integrated on the figures' designs. She is not even that interesting in the anime/manga and the "best waifu" hype is so far from true. Ok it may be aestethic to have a whole collection of one character but if we take Miku or Kurumi for instance we have a lot more diversity of hair sculpts, outfits, makeups, and overall designs. Even a short haired character like Saber has diversity. Rem is just not it. I agree, Nendoroids don't really match their pricing, or quality/price ratio. At least not anymore. But scale figures are also overpriced so it's the market in general. Estream I'm looking at you especially, take example on Myethos. They price fairly their amazing figures. And finally a moment of silence for Tengen, because this pop up parade was a hate crime.
For real rem looks so boring to me, I just don't understand it 🥲 and she has so many figures now like surely we could just get a few more of some other characters now haha. Definitely Miku figures always look really different! For some reasons, I don’t own any kotobukiya figure…must be missing out. Although, I have some of their older ones on my wish list. That price hike tho… unfortunately is gonna stay. With figures being made to order technically, it should not have to be but I think scavengers who buy and sell for profits in the aftermarket and newer collectors coming in with big bucks just buying everything might be some of the bigger culprits - unfortunately too, this is not an unusual sight for things that warrant a collector’s market such as sneakers and all. It’s generally hard to curb this issue since the demand is high. Also, while people can complain about this, companies can also argue that there are different tiers of figures that they can still go for.
I agree that GS has gotten lazy, especially for how much nendos are now. The biggest disappointment for the price are the Twisted Wonderland nendos which come with hardly any accessories and the most boring face plates and they are 7000 yen. 🙃 I also agree about the Sukuna one which I passed on. I still PO'd the Komi nendo bc she does come with the wide eye face and cat ears which was enough to satisfy me lol.
In my opinion, on you talking about the Sukuna nendoroid, I believe that there are some characters that I don't feel should become Nendoroids. Sukuna is not supposed to be cute, lol he's the King of Curses and Deadly Poisons. I feel like he'd be insulted if he saw it lol. No offence to you who and anyone else who preordered it. I'm tempted to get more Haikyuu nendoroids, but I want scales more! I have this dream Nishinoya scale of him in mid-fall, held up by a clear rod as he's diving to receive a ball with one hand. And his hand is the only thing touching the base (which is the floor boards of a gym), and you can also slot a volleyball on top of his hand. I also dream of a Miya twins set similar to the Hinata and Kageyama one where Hinata is going in for a spike and Kageyama is setting the ball. (They're figures made by Takara Tomy.) I agree that figures are getting more and more expensive. And now that UK has left the EU I'm getting loads of extra currency exchange charges when I buy it on sites that list it as yen, so they're getting even MORE expensive. Gave me a heart attack when I checked my bank account and suddenly I'd been charged an extra £20-30 for my pre-order of the Yuta and Rika Estream figure! Speaking of Estream, an update on my Gojo figure: Apparently I chose surface parcel (though I don't remember since it's been a year now since I ordered him), so I might not see him until mid-July. I think I'm going to end up being the last person in the world to receive their Gojo Estream figure lol
