My first reel was an ABU Garcia 5000. Got it in 1973. I thought id never change to a low profile reel. Out of the blue i decided to take the leap with the lower priced Kastking Royal Legend 1. That reel has its problems and i found the fix on a reel forum. I am a perfectionist so i ditched the Royal 1 and took a chance on the Royal 2. 4 years later i have 2 of those reels and have retired all of my Garcia round reels. I have also bought several spinning reels. Happy woth Kastking.
Awesome video dude! Great lookin reel indeed. My first baitcaster I got in 2016, still use it to this day for my topwater set up is the Abu Garcia Pro Max🤙🏻
Nice reel but did have a problem at first. Second time out I experienced a drag slip and loud grinding sound. Took it apart several times and didn’t find any wear. Threw it in the trash a couple of times since I couldn’t figure it out. (My first baitcaster ) finally saw a blow up diagram of a demon with note that showed drag pressure washers together )) from factory but should be opposing ().. I took my reel apart again and flipped one washer..glad I did because that solved the problem.. it’s really a nice reel for the price. I got it because it’s light and I wanted to try a different style of fishing without breaking the bank. I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort and ease of a baitcaster. It’s not for every application but works great for dropping for small fish in the bay. Landed a 5.6 lbs Rainbow Runner with ease despite the annoying drag slip. I’m looking forward to fishing again now that my reel seems to be working better.
Solid video bro. My first baitcaster was an Abu Silver Max, maybe $45ish back then. Lol I never caught a fish on it and I always backlashed so I gave it away!! My next one was this Royale Legend //… I freaking loves this thing and I’ve caught PLENTY of fish on it!! Honestly I don’t think I have the Silver Max enough time!! I gave up too fast!!
First baitcasting reel was the $50 jawbone combo from Dick’s Sporting Goods. Backlashes that thing like crazy and never caught a fish. Probably spent as much in line as I did the combo. 😂🤣. Now I have a lews speed spool and love it
Man, I don't want to hate on Jawbone, but I have had a similar experience with a Jawbone product. I bought a 2 piece UL rod and the second piece kept flying off the dang thing when I would cast it. It was insane I could not get it to stay on. I might just JB Weld it and make it a one piece. lol
i got my 1st bait caster combo for christmas manufactuered through shakespeare , the bait caster alone shakespeare retails for $50. I only used my bait caster 4 or 5 times or so and after i began using my bait caster with the tension knob on the highest setting i began falling in love with my bait caster , i got to where i can cast any artificial bait with no backlash the more i use my bait caster with artificial baits the more i fall in love with it.
My first baitcasting reel was a shimano casitas, it is my favorite reel and I've been using it for years. I think I picked it up for around $90-$110, I don't remember exactly.

Thanks Mike! I have been looking to try out Abu Garcia next. Eventually I want to have budget reels from all the major brands out there.

It feels nice and lightweight. I dig it man. I’m buying a Black Max to compare here pretty soon.
This reel or abu garcia max? I cant make up my mind.
I just got my hands on a black maxx. Haven’t used it yet, but I will be doing a review on it after a few months of using it.
@@RamonOutdoors I'll hold off for a few months then.
@@BoogieIRL royal legend 2
What is the range to throw with her? 5 g? To Max.40g?
You're talking lure weight? Specs don't say, but I've thrown a weightless texas rig with this reel before and that's about 10 grams.

I mean technically it's not a plastic frame it's a graphite frame which is more like a composite material sort of like carbon fiber or fiberglass is.
Very interesting video
Thanks Dave!
I bought one so I can learn how to use one before I get a good shimano
It’s a good starter reel! I still use it today
Testing it out this week . Anything goes wrong it’s only 40 bucks can’t be mad lol
Good bro
Thanks
