“I am not going to do much for the inside of the vehicle” - continues to create an interior style any rebel designer would have donated their left arm to come up with 😂 Another awesome painting video from you, Sorastro. So great to see your transformation of the vehicle from grey to great! 🤩🤩
I’m sooooo bummed. I didn’t figure you’d do a video on the A-A5 and so I busted my chops getting mine painted. It looks amazing with tons of great interior detailing, but I would have LOVED to following along with your paint scheme!
Thank you Andrew! I actually finished the video a couple of months ago, but there was a miscommunication regarding the licensing process which caused an unnecessary delay in my releasing it. My next episode however should be out before the actual product launches... :)
Mate, that weathering is amazing!!! It adds so much character and history to the model. I love it. I admire your patience to keep adding more and more.
I found this video at the perfect time. Just started my AA5 and was worried about painting large panels without an airbrush but your drybrushing portion of the video has me feeling a lot more confident on getting this thing painted. As always, your videos are brilliant and helpful and your painting is excellent!
Amazing job! I was thinking about using lettering on it in some way, then it struck me that it might be fun to paint it as a Galaxy's Edge Coca-Cola or Sprite truck.
I love the basic idea of the model. The rebellion are basically using a militarised version of the Star Wars universes counterpart of a Sprinter panel van here.
Tamiya makes a wonderful panel liner product in various blacks/browns that makes quick work of...well...panel lines. I've used it on on my AAT, various other vehicles, and even clone helmets with great success. Just suggesting it because it may save you a lot of time from hand brushing them. As always, fantastic work!
you know if you painted the bottom and top halves black and change the blue diagonal strip to a red one then it would look like the "A-Team" van from the 1980's lol great painting guide btw!
Thank you very much! I'd love to paint Iden Versio, but I'll most likely cover her with a PDF guide (as I usually do with the slightly older releases).. :)

I wasn't going to get the A-A5 because I didn't like the look of it. But just watching your video and the thoughts of customizing it have made me reconsider
Thanks Steve! I must say I had mixed feelings when I first saw the initial images of the A-A5, but it really grew on me whilst I was working on it, and once I'd made it "mine" I was really very fond of it 😄
Fantastic work! Really love how deep you dive into the weathering and chipping, along with how you draw your inspiration. I think it shows in the final results of your work. I'm really interested to see more of that static grass technique you did near the end of the video. Do you have any other videos on that process? That grass looked very realistic.
Watching your videos makes me want to buy the SW Legion set, and I need to keep remind myself that I still have plenty of Imperial Assault and expansions minis to paint ;) Amazing work BTW.

Looks amazing! I like watching you paint minis even if I don't plan on buying them myself just so I can learn new techniques and ideas. I hope you paint the laat gunship at some point
Wow amazing as always, love the different coloured stripes gives it a better look than just the red. Didn’t like this vehicle to start with but have just purchased one haha.
Dear Sorastro, As per your word, I was certainly not disappointed! Excellent tutorial. However, I was surprised that you did not paint the horizontal support frame for the windshield. But after all, its all down to personal taste.
Thanks Johnny! Yes, that was a complete oversight on my part, but I've since painted it the same tone as the bodywork (I just applied some brush-on primer first) :)

Given me something to think about for external panting.
Outstanding job Sorastro inspired me to build and paint this ! Question who is the figure you have inside the rear and where would you purchase id like to add him to my build !!!
Nice job 👍 Was it just me, or did anyone else try to wipe the dust off their screen during the cutscenes only to realise it was a subtle starfield effect 🤣
@@Sorastro Thanks, just bought myself a bottle of AK varnish, been using Vallejo's Matt Varnish but for some reason the last 2 bottles I've had of that has made the model look wet when it dries. Wonderfull!!! Any chance to also get the LAAT ?
Thanks Thierry! I'm not scheduled to produce a video for the LAAT but I think you could certainly use many of the same ideas presented in this episode to paint it.. :)
Are you sure that's not Lone Star's mobile home starship from Spaceballs?
Edit: now reading comments and apparently I'm not alone with the same idea.
simply you are the best
That's very kind - thank you! :)
Isn't that vehicle from Space Balls?
Awesome!
Thank you! 😊
Could you do a video on Shoretroopers?
Hi! I actually made a PDF guide for them some time back: sorastro.com/?s=Shoretrooper 🙂
@@Sorastro Wow, thanks
No problem! 🙂
Legend just legend!
Thanks a lot! :)
Dear Sorastro, I forgot to mention, please may I know how you painted the underside of the truck (just out of curiousity)
Hi Johnny! After providing the basic panel colour (as you can see here: ua-cam.com/video/LZyO3C-mbrA/v-deo.html) I didn't do anything else with the underside as it can't actually be seen :)
@@Sorastro Thank you.
Anyone know where I can find a 1:47 scale “I ❤️ Uranus” bumper sticker? 😆
