ooooohhhhh NICE. My camo painting skills have now magically improved! That's an awesome little tip, wetting the mini first, thank you so much! Results are immediate and impressive!

Brilliant! just found your channel and I'm highly impressed. The technique with the camo is so simple and looks great and yet seems so obvious to me now.
Sweet Monkey Jeebus. That wet-mini camo technique is awesome and would have saved me HOURS of work on the last batch of minis I did for Shadow War: Armageddon. And looked better. :D Great tutorial, thank you!
Thanks Alec! I'm glad you liked that technique - I was just looking at Leia's outfit in Jedi and it seemed like the best way to get that diffuse, blurry effect :)
Thanks for the excellent tip on the forestcamo-technique, I'm doing something similar now on my Rebels loosely based on finnish WWII wintercamo with some pea-dot thrown in foor good measure :-) I'm proud to say it works a treat.
I never noticed until this video how Sorastro actually holds the ferrule of the brush when doing the tiny facial details. It's kind of obvious now that I've seen him do it, but I'll have to try that next time I work on faces.

Would you ever considering doing a little walk through of your painting area, showing how you keep your paints and stuff Sorestro? A setup kind of video? Would be interesting to see.
I'm following along with/being inspired by this guide now but at 4:28 your bugmans glow and mine are SO different! Mine is much darker and redder, almost leaning towards a bruise colour... maybe they changed it over the years since our bottle labels are different too... my test dude looks like he has been in a tanning bed way too long lol. Lol - thanks buddy! I'll give that video idea some thought.. like you say it's finding a way to put into words a process that isn't especially well defined, especially as as lot of it has to do with intuition (and good old trial and error!) :)
You are making this so much easier to do, very well done, you are on another level of painting skill! awesome! I would like to see the Rebel fleet trooper painting guide too, any chance?
Thank you very much for your wonderful and inspiring work! I have been following your work since the Imperial Assault series. However, I'm a little disappointed because you've never painted the Rebel troopers from the Echo Base before. In fact, I would like to recreate the battle of Hoth and your help would be most welcome! I actually bought 6 boxes of veterans but I wouldn't want to miss painting these guys properly! Thank you once again for your work that makes us dream !
I like the forest and desert camo looks that many use for their rebel troopers. However i really would like to see someone take on a color scheme meant for all enviroments. Like maybe a light greyish camo instead of the bright green.
I'm going to have steal the colour list for the urban camo. I want to do something with that palette to ships. Though, I have to ask, anyone ever tried painting a ship so it looked like it was crossing the terminator line from night to day?
Starting with terrain before doing these guys in a desert scheme and then the stormtroopers from my core set. I practised on some scifi reaper minis first because I really want to get it right.
This video has been a tremendous help in nailing down my color scheme for my rebel troops. What would be the Army Painter equivalent of Deck Tan? Thanks again for the videos!!!!
Awesome video! Curious to what colours you'd possibly suggest for a more orange and brown colour scheme? Much like the one various demo video have shown and also the colour for the rebels on The sullust map in battle front 1

I'm going to be using army painter shades and the paint set with legion. If there is any other hues that you think I should add to the kit let me know.
I wasn't sure that the purple and green would work on the Duros, but the purple works nicely to break up the green uniform. I'm pretty sure I'd stop at the shade stage for rank and file troops!

Sorastro, you've been the thing that's gotten me through this painting project. Double box of Legion plus the ATST, T47, extra bikes, and Veers. I may not be painting most of the models in your style, but watching and listening has made me a better painter, and I've employed many, many of your techniques. I'm starting to run out of paint, though, and I'm looking at picking up a set to make life easy. Is there one in particular you'd recommend, as far as starter sets to cover my bases (figuratively)?
Thanks a lot Stephen! I generally recommend buying the individual colours you think you'll need for a specific project; that way you won't be paying for colours you might not ever get round to using. You can then expand your collection gradually from there.. :)
Hey Sorastro. I really enjoy your videos you got me started painting miniatures a couple of months ago i started off with some vikings from v&v minis.I was gonna start imperial assault minis but now ill wait till this game is out it looks fun. Just a quick one mate are you going to do the stormtroopers for this game too as did a few troopers for imperial assault. Thanks again for inspiring so many people your a true hero of the hobby.
loving the videos imensely they're helping me. unfortunately right now, the only colors i have are the colors from the actual star wars legion core set color paints. so lil frustrating. first time painting so easier for me to do more or less step by step. So if you have any suggestions, i'd appreciate it. thanks

Hey Luke - thanks a lot! Yes I will be painting the Storm Troopers for this game very shortly :)
Oh shit! He lives!
loving the videos imensely they're helping me. unfortunately right now, the only colors i have are the colors from the actual star wars legion core set color paints. so lil frustrating. first time painting so easier for me to do more or less step by step. So if you have any suggestions, i'd appreciate it. thanks
