As usual, a spectacular video that makes me think I someday will finally get my head around the notion of NMM, after watching them. You lay it out pretty nicely with your camera angles. Your videos are always worth the wait, I find.
Hey, I just wanted to say Thank you for all the lessons and skills you've taught me over my last 5 years of painting. I started with your tutorial of how to paint The Pride Avatar from the 7 deadly sins game. I now, will buy models you paint specifically to bench mark my learnings, and practices. I owe a lot of my growth to you. So thank you for everything you do for the community.
Hello again, Mr S :-) I don't know if any of your viewers have seen what I saw online, but some designer has brought out a Star Wars Legion scale Sandcrawler for Jawas to use in games. I forget which manufacturer makes it, but a search will find it quick enough. Apparently it's only around £40 too, which makes it a VERY affordable resin kit for anyone who wants to play a Jawa force in the game. I recently went toy box diving at a local charity shop, and came up for air clutching THREE old sci-fi toys to my heaving bosom that are perfect to use as land speeders in the Star Wars Legion games :-) Only cost me €1 for all three (Each one around six inches across, leaving plenty of room to add riders, with wheels underneath to move them along at just the right height for a land speeder, too), and I also came away with some interesting bits of old toys that I can convert into terrain pieces for generic sci-fi/fantasy games. Charity shops are my go-to places for surprise finds like this, or discount shops that have little odds and ends to add terrain to your games, at dirt cheap prices. Also pet supply shops with the aquarium terrain they sell, which may be a little pricey at times, but their aquarium plants make some awesome jungle terrain for games, and come in many sizes, and some of them do bulk discount if you ask nicely (I speak from experience here, being cheeky enough to chance asking and getting a huge amount of little plants for less than €5).There's also a fantastic video on UA-cam where a gamer makes Star Wars Legion land speeders from Tic-Tac boxes that just has to be seen and tried for yourself :-) Hope you don't mind me spreading the news through your channel, but everything helps when it comes to the hobby we all love, and inexpensive vehicles/terrain can make all the difference for some gamers, as they can save money to spend on their figures, thus expanding their games even further :-)
Just found out who makes the sandcrawler :-) Wargames3d do a 3d printed model for less than €45 (I'm not sure what £/$s price is) and it's an AWESOME piece of kit to look at alongside an Imperial Stormtrooper shown for scale. Hope this helps anyone looking for this kit :-)
I find your modesty adorable. lol. We ALL wish this was our version of "tabletop" standard. Glorious vibrant colors that are perfect for the Pykes. Glad to see your continued interest in Contrast paints. They are really a nice element in the painting toolkit when used right.
That was a pretty bold choice to paint over the blue pants and shirt of the leader after you already had it shaded and highlighted, but you did achieve what you wanted in getting the leader to stick out a bit more.
Yet another superb painting tutorial :-D You just get better every time, Mr S :-D :-D I've just started painting Star wars Legion Clan Wren, and can't wait to get my hands on a set of these minis shown here for myself, as they are beautiful, even unpainted, and the finish you achieve is just stunning and inspiring combined :-)
just found your channel. pretty awesome. brilliant to focus on other IP than 40k although I do love 40k. it gives your channel a uniqueness others do not always have. subscribed and 👍
Still would love to see you take on the fluttercraft? I been following you legion paint guides pretty close, just want to see you work your magic on that one
Thanks David! I'm not currently scheduled to cover the Fluttercraft, but you might find some helpful ideas in my Persuader Class Tank Droid episode.. :)
@@Sorastro ohh that would also be great since I used your pdf guide for my AAT tank, would love to see your way of doing vibro swords maybe little purplish even?
Hey Sorastro ! Awesome as usual! I was wondering if you were considering doing a painting series for Nemesis or Mansions of Madness? It would be awesome !
Return of the King!!! You make me buy these minis with this video... 😁 Can you tell me about your miniholders? They look like bottle caps too me on something... Thanks!
Thanks a lot Lajos! There's actually a link to the mini holders in the video description (near the bottom I think), but you could pretty much use whatever you like :)
Hello, sorry for my English. Can you tell me where you bought your small dry palette. I only find palettes with large tanks. Yours are barely the size of a fingernail, it's perfect for miniatures. Thank you.
Excellent video as always, great to see a character type like the Pykes which usually don't get much love. Your wet pallet looks slightly different, are you using Redgrass' new papers?
I see your scale 75 range is expanding xD it looks really good. I thought it was nice to see that even you change your mind and alter the scheme to better fit. how has the wet pallet been holding up? I've been curious. cheers, mate!
There are actually 8 (as you can see at the prep stage), so you can field the additional grunt plus both specialists! (I just prefer the aesthetics of shooting them as a group of seven) 😀
Hello. Fantastic job as always. With both contrasts and gw shades used along with scale75 do you use a varnish afterwards? These gw products tend to be on a glossy side opposite to scake75 and must make a stark difference in finish.
Hey there, hoping you see this comment as I had some questions about your primer. I've mostly been using citadel can primers to do my minis until recently I thought I would give the stynylrez primers a try. So first trying them, I added it to my air brush without thinner (per the instructions) but it almost instantly clogged it. After much hard cleaning to get it all out I tried to thin it down a bit. The result left me with an extremely runny primer that often pooled when I tested it, and even then it clogged again not too much later than with no thinner. Have you had any issues with these primers before? Could it just be my airbrush? It's an iwata neo and I typically try to use around 30 to 40 psi when I made my attempts. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Hi Nic! I also generally find that priming with the airbrush can lead to clogging. These days I add a few drops of Vallejo's Airbrush Thinner, and their Airbrush Flow Improver. Not too much as to over thin the primer, but enough to keep the paint flowing without causing blockages. I also like to shoot at quite a high PSI (as you do). 🙂
damn your good!!! I have a question: do you paint action figures or anything like that? Or strictly tabletop mini's? I am jus trying to improve my painting skills and I kinda think your tips could transfer over to painting custom action figures fairly well.
The Pykes never looked so good ! Er, Villainously dapper !
Ha ha, thanks a lot! 😁

Thanks so much buddy! I think this is the quickest NMM method I've ever tried, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! :)
The secret with nmm is that they're not that difficult if you don't worry about perfect blending. Strong differences in value really sell the effect.
@@Magicwillnz Thanks for the info! I don't feel so bad about that now. 😃
I’ve been looking forward to this

Hi Chris! The little dry palette actually comes with the Redgrass Games wet palette (and sticks to the side with magnets) 🙂
with what or how much do you thin down your paints, they look so smooth on the pallete
Hi Torkdik! I thin with water mixed with a little Flow Enhancer (I use the Daler Rowney one) :)
