There are two types of paper. To put it simply, one is called underworld paper, which is burned for the dead and is a valuable currency used in the underworld. The other type is wealth gold, which is burned to the gods to pray for stronger wealth and more prosperous business; Guanyin is a god, so what you see is the second type! In addition, I must tell you a cruel fact. The Cultural Revolution, which began in 1966, lasted for ten years and caused great damage to Chinese society. Therefore, it was also called the Ten Years of Catastrophe by later generations. During this period, Mao Zedong launched a series of political campaigns that not only killed more than twice the number of people killed in World War II, but also burned all Chinese historical relics, including temples. Nowadays, it is difficult to see temples in China, unlike Taiwan where there are century-old temples everywhere, some of which are even more than 300 years old! Thanks a lot to you for your hard work and sharing this amazing video! 👍🥰🙏
Hi . My thousand apologies for not being there for you during your Mosque tour at Masjid Panglima Kinta the oldest brick mosque in Perak. Also known as the Taj Mahal of Malaysia. If you happen to be around Ipoh, kindly get back to me for a Free Tour. Regards Nazrin.
To dunk your toast in coffee is ok for us Malaysians. The jam is actually kaya jam which is made from eggs and coconut milk cooked over long periods on low heat until it reaches thick jam like consistency. We usually put some soy sauce and pepper on the half boiled eggs and stir before you dip your toasts in it.
@14:20 Just follow your guts feeling. There are genuinely desperate people everywhere and they are also scammers. We can't tell for sure who's who... so just follow your guts feeling.
The best food I had was in Ipoh, when I was there in September. Near where you ate at Sin Yoon Long, there is a place called Nasi Kandar Pekan Lama. Best meal I had in Malaysia and really cool owner who explains how you what they have and serves a massive portion for around 8 ringgit. I do miss Ipoh, wish I spent more than three days there.
12:30 , actually a lot of cheater looking for easy way to earning money with a lot of excuses, such as someone passaway, wife pregnant and short of money, need money to buy tickets back hometown, etc .... just be careful anyway
I just recently stumbled upon your channel and enjoy watching your videos, especially the ones about Malaysia. I appreciate your effort in speaking the local language of Malay. However, I find that a lot of foreigners tend to mispronounce the "a" vowel in the Malay language. As a general rule of thumb, if the "a" is anywhere but at the end of a word, it is pronounced "ah" like the "a" in "car", or "father". If the "a" is at the end of a word, then it is pronounced "er" like the "a" in "ago", or "career". Examples: saya(sah-yer, not sah-yah), apa(ah-per, not ah-pah), mana(mah-ner, not mah-nah). Also, the "c" is pronounced like the "ch" in the words "check/charge/change". So, roti canai is pronounced as roti "ch"anai, not roti "k"anai. Welcome to Malaysia!
In malaysia we have good welfare dept so tht guy should hv asked help from d dept..or go to d local leaders...sometimes its fishy why these ppl asked randomnly for money and some did tht for drugs
Hye bro...i just watched your this video today. Yes...as a local (Malaysian) I need to advice you to be cautios about the scammer that we never expect can bee happen to every people anytime and everywhere on this planet. Greatful you not to believe with that guy on this video. Ok..bro Tim Tense happy travel and have a safely journey. Always to follow your next video ( since on your first day arrived in Malaysia).
I was born & raised in Ipoh. Went to Ipoh last week and it seems like there are a lot more high rises than it used to be. However high rises are more sporadically located not concentrated in a few places like KL. Some people don't like new developments coming to Ipoh because they said Ipoh no longer feels the same. I love it though. I left Ipoh because its such a boring city in my opinion 🤭. So when I see more developments going on I am happy. Might even consider relocating one day
If you want to know more about Moslem and mosques, you can go to big mosques eg Masjid Shah Alam, Masjid Putrajaya, Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan or Masjid Negara. They have train tourist guide.
What is white coffee in Malaysia? Traditionally, Malaysian style 'black' coffee roast (Kopi-O) is produced by roasting the beans with sugar, margarine and wheat. 'White' coffee, on the other hand, is produced with only margarine and without any sugar, resulting in a less dark roast. Ipoh White Coffee is also widely available in an instant version. It has nothing to do with the milk... 😅😅 so you can have the white coffee with or without milk... Western type coffee is just roasted without additive....

There is a lot of nice church as well at ipoh, sikh temple, the huge Buddhist temple, hindu temple & lot of mosque but you need to take a ride for sure😅
People's Park was beautiful in its Prime but it is a sore sight now. The restaurant is not in operation and no one would bring their children to play here. Ipoh was at its best in the 50s when we were under the Brittish rule, because it was perfectly planned. The Brittish would bring flowering tropical trees and plants from all over the world and plant them every part of the town and residential areas.

But still we make foreigners feel at home.
