Facts! This is the first totally honest review of Turkish airlines from Istanbul airport to their in flight service I have seen on YT. I believe everyone else is either paid or lying to be paid…I flew them once before the pandemic and swore NEVER EVER again!
I was in the IST lounge 2 days ago and the situation has changed there dramatically. Nothing is pre/individually packed anymore. Breakfast and salad self service buffets are open and all the hot food is available 24 hrs. The omelette maker was very cheerful and friendly. The airport is buzzing and all sections are open. Sadly the the A330 and 777 seats are seriously outdated. I was flying business within Europe in a 4 legged flight (2x 321 neo and 2 737 MAX) and with the exception of the same dry chicken on my trip back home, the rest of the food on all 3 legs was excellent. The aircraft were beautiful and the new BUS seats on these aircraft are top. All in all I think that THY has big deficits on their long distance but huge advantages on their narrow body Euro Business.
Yes I'm inclined to agree with you about the differences between short and long haul. I am at least glad to know the food in the lounge and on board has come back up to a better standard though since I'll be flying them again short haul in a couple weeks. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
this review was amusing and validating b/c we had almost the same exact experience - delayed flight, rude ground staff, and the driest main dishes. we did get the chef and cart service but no amenities kit or dine on demand. i was also sad to have missed out on the TK lounge experience given many other rave reviews, but i feel better after hearing yours. i think it was lucky that this was our first business class experience, so it still felt very new and exciting. but i imagine a seasoned traveler would be less than thrilled
I absolutely love your brutally honest reviews. These are much needed and, hopefully, will result in the airline jacking up their service and showing a greater commitment to excellence overall. Looking forward to the next review.
Well, this is an eye opener. Based on positive critiques from other travel vlogers I committed to Turkish Airlines for my trip in late July NYC/BSL via IST and my return flight mid August from LON/LAX also via IST. The dye is cast. Hoping for the best. Thanks for the info. Stay well. 👍🙏😎
Wow I was about to book Turkish, thank God I saw this video before deciding, Turkish and Qatar were my top 2 for upcoming US trip and now it’s clear that I would go Qatar even though it’s a bit more expensive but Turkish airlines attitude with you and looking at Qsuits 😁 it’s clear for me
The thing you said about their lack of accountability and their distinct lack of hospitality is a very astute observation. On each of my visits to Turkey, every layover, and even flights, I've noticed and felt their hostility and their unwelcoming demeanor from almost 95% of the people I've unfortunately had to interact with including crew.
From what I've seen, the experience with Turkish varies greatly depending on the aircraft. I flew GRU-IST on a A350-900, and it was not bad. Then the next leg, IST-MUC, was on a much older A330, and it was OK, not very different. On the way back, MUC-IST was on a A321 (looks like they use a variety of aircraft on that route), and even though it's a smaller aircraft, the experience in business was much better than on the A330. I'm flying with them to Tokyo later this year, and even though I'd much prefer landing in HND, I went with NRT because the configuration for that route is better.
Great report! I fully agree with your observations. Did 4 business class sectors and was super underwhelmed by all of them. Since then been flying Qatar, and it is light years ahead of Turkish.
I bought a business class seat on TK leaving on March 23rd,2020. Pandemic happened. I asked for a refund as flights were cancelled. TK said that they will extend the ticket Some random date they dropped the extension without notifying me. So, no refund and no ticket. So, NEVER Turkish Airline. EVER!
The whole Turkish Airlines experience from when you first enter the airport to and during the flight is filled with some of the most indifferent, rude and unwelcoming employees I have never experienced at an international airport!
in the 1970s I regularly flew from the middle east/istanbul to and from amsterdam: at that time THY was only intended for guest workers and I had as a diplomatic person to fly with KLM in the then 'royal class'. well everything has changed (luckily). funny to see, that Turkish Airways seems to be much better then klm!
I flew TK 8 times long haul business class and agree, never really liked the food, seat, or service, all just adequate, and always amazed by the people who gush over "the candlelit dinner" Unless the price is so much cheaper than the competition I gladly pay a little more to fly the competitor.
Yeah there’s certainly a cost tipping point where it still makes sense to fly with TK even if it’s not the greatest. For the fare I paid I’d certainly do it again. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Also forgot to mention I have a TK short haul Economy video coming out in a few weeks… the meal on that flight was incredible and I do believe it was exactly the same chicken/rice meal I had in this video, but executed much better.
Did you have to lug around your luggage and camera gears the entire time you were delayed ? Were there at least places where you can store your things overnight ?
I did personally, yes, because I don't let my bags out of my sight, but in the beginning of the lounge part of the video there was a shot of the self service luggage lockers. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Hello ! Just stumbled across your channel and I enjoy the sharp , no nonsense content . Have your flown Turkish airlines since this review ? They seem to have one of the cheaper business class options from Southeast Asia to London so I’m seriously considering them - my parents have flown them before and had good things to say about them ; but this was long before Covid
I have one more recent economy TK review on the channel. Have also had family fly them in Business last year and reported a much more normal full service experience than what I had on this flight. Thanks for watching 🩴
Im sorry, that you had a bad experience with them, personally I have flown with them many times and was always satisfied. Also I don’t think that your experience is the norm. Otherwise Istanbul wouldn’t be the second busiest Airport in the World and Turkish Airlines the Airline being regarded by most as one of the best.
There are as many 'experiences' as there are individuals, on planet earth. It's unhealthy to have a herd/sheep mentality where you refuse to accept one man's negative experience of this airline, which is equally as valid and as helpful as a man's experience who has nothing but great things to say about Turkish Airlines
Just because an airport is one of the busiest in the world doesn't say anything about the quality of services in that airport. Furthermore, apart from Turks most people do not regard Turkish Airlines as one of the best, far from it.
Uh oh. I also took advantage of the 31.5k promo and will soon be flying both their 777 and 787. Lowering expectations. Would you care to pile on a comment about the TK website experience? 😅
To be clear, 31.5k points for this route is cheap enough for me to (kinda) happily make it a regular occurance. But yes, I do hate their website, especially when trying to book award tickets that are not in the name of the account holder (which is allowed, but a PITA). Luckily, TK is one of the few airlines on earth where you don't need to wait on hold for more than 5 minutes to talk to an actual human. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft I was just on the website to try to confirm my seats. Nope. Website won’t let me even though I can see the tickets. Ah joy. So it’ll have to be a phone call. I’m new to this game. This is only my 2nd redemption. I’ll manage expectations, but as a newbie I’m sure lying flat and having a lounge will be pretty cool for a while. I’m understanding you to say 31.5k comes around regularly? It’s getting me KUL to NAP, and then VIE to SEA. I could get used to that! ☺️ Looking forward to your next videos!
Love this brutally honest review! I always thought the chefs outfits were a fun touch giving the illusion of fine dining. Sounds like they got rid of it. Also can relate to the dreaded 2-3-2 configuration lol. Love your channel. Keep up the great work!
The country's name was always "Türkiye," but probably because of its difficult pronunciation, foreigners would pronounce it as "Turkei," others as "Turkey," "Turquie” and so on. Interestingly, we also seemed to be okay with the country's name being passed differently abroad. I think it wasn't too bad to put an end to this ambiguity at some point.
Sure, I know the name of the country has always been that in Turkish, I think this is more about the country's English name. Would be similar to Spain asking the UN to have their official name, in English, be España. Thanks for watching 🩴
Istanbul Airport was constructed to be huge, because it is planned to be the worlds largest airport in the future, with up to 200 million passengers yearly. not for the sake of being big
Hi there, thank you for your honest review. I have a special emotional bond to Turkish Airlines resulting from my childhood, and I have flown Business Class with TK before, nonetheless I always always try to be very honest and non-biased. I agree, you did not have a TK Business Class experience as it should be. I am very disappointed, especially by the lounge employees. As you said, worse than them not being able to find a solution is their behavior towards you. This is not Turkish hospitality, and my background is Turkish so I can truly say that. The inflight meal service wasn‘t quite Business Class like as well, unfortunately. And yes, I do hate the middle seat in a 2-3-2 configuration as well. In their A350s and B787-9s they have a 1-2-1 configuration, which is how it is supposed to be nowadays, especially if you are a global brand. Nonetheless there is one thing that you should have mentioned, in my opinion. Which is: Change the route, change the crew, and you have a completely different experience. This is applicable to almost any airline in the world. This experience does not depict how every single TK Business Class experience has ever been and will ever be. Change the route and the crew, and you have an absolutely flawless experience with TK. Change it again and you will have maybe a mediocre experience. Yes, airlines should have a certain standard and guidelines, but as mentioned, this would also apply to other airlines, even the fancy ones like Emirates, Qatar, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, etc. Thank you though, I gave this video a thumbs up for your honesty. Much love, Emre
Sure I completely agree different routes and different crews and different circumstances would have resulted in a completely different review. My videos aren’t meant to be about airlines as a whole, but rather just my one flight experience. In the same way that one Westin might be fantastic and another absolutely horrible, both of those reviews deserve to stand alone on their own. I’ll be flying TK again in a few weeks, we shall see how it goes. And yes, I am very familiar with Turkish hospitality. Some years ago I was on an over landing trek from Istanbul to Beijing and we crossed across the whole of Turkey and onto Iran. From joining an impromptu wedding in Selçuk, sharing stories with some locals while hiking in the Ihlara Valley, being offered more wine and cheese than we could possibly eat every time we were bush camping- at every turn we enjoyed the hospitality… it is a beautiful country for sure… if only Turkish Airlines could represent it more consistently 😊
Well it's fare worse then what I experienced with turkish airlines. The airport is amazing and open 24/7 in Europe they close on 23 I was in same hours like you, and in 5 AM you already have hot dishes. This is not only the biggest lounge but the best in Europe too, the selection of food, the true coffe, art gallery, all the games. And it's the only company in Europe that gives you business seat in inside Europe flights
sad to see you're experience was less than great. before 2020, the reviews of this airline (that i watched) were fairly positive; mostly because of the lounge. between the geo-political situation, and the Turkish economic situation, i'm guessing emerging from lockdowns is more difficult for this airline than many others. hopefully they will regain their glory in the next year 😎
Quite the opposite in fact, to my knowledge Turkey was one of the very first countries to reopen and TK enjoyed healthy load factors (relatively speaking) throughout. If any thing I would guess they’re benefiting from a mass influx of Russian transit pax. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I had almost the exact same experience in May going from JFK -IST- SGN. Lounge agents extremely rude, and don't give a crap. Going in, had high hopes based on other UA-cam reviews. Unless that 30% percent discount comes around again, no way I will fly Turklish again. Appreciate your honest reviews. I am also base out of SGN so I already hit up a few of places you reviewed.
Yeah, at the end of the day- for the price I paid I would do it again even if I knew that it would include the crap food and rude staff, it's just too good of a deal. But, I'd never think to pay near full price of this one. Since June they've switched to a 787-9 for their SGN service though, which does sweeten the deal a bit! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing & thank you for the warning about Turkish Airlines 's poor customer services especially in the lounge area. I will stick to Singapore Air or Japan Air for the consistency in both soft & hard products
Oh yeah for sure, SQ is always one to beat. Very excited to have Cape Town to Saigon and Mumbai to New York booked with SQ in the coming months. Knowing I have those flights coming up makes all the crappy ones in between worth it haha. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
🤷🏼♂️ I’d been up for around 29 hours at that point and can barely remember getting on the plane 😂. I would check the boarding pass but it’s at home and I’m out of town. …why do you ask?
110% agree with your video about Turkish. I just returned from IST last week and here's my thoughts: - Airport is annoyingly big, for no specific reason - Customer service is non-existent at best. A smile if you're lucky - I paid for a transit lounge only to find out I can't enter when I arrived - Shocking as it may sound, the affordable fares on TK do make it a compelling one. But I'd say dead last choice.
Yeah- I mean if I got the same fare again I’d happily use them again but it’s not to say lots of improvements could be made. Kinda not looking forward to my short haul economy flight with them in a couple weeks which will start with 6 hours in the airport 😅 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft I did IST to LGW via DLM with TK. Their narrowbody planes in economy are a shitshow. There is so much to unpack here. Here goes: - IST is crazy busy before pre-dawn. - Despite it's size, we still got a remote gate when there was a aerobridge gate right next to us, with a plane parked, unused. - Their narrow body domestic planes are nothing more than flying public buses. - If you're transiting anywhere other than IST, it is just another painful experience - They put us on a 321-200 to LGW; crew disappeared after meal service, were passive aggressive and my entertainiment equipment was very glitchy. Overall, the only salvation was the lower fare as a full fledge carrier and DO & CO Catering. Without their catering, I wouldnt have even considered TK.
I flew their business coz they are cheaper than other business, and its the shortest flights from Berlin - Jakarta. Compare to Qatar Airways.. Turkish is a no go with only 300 euro differences
I’ve flown Turkish often for the past 7 years. Mostly from Bangkok to Europe and South America. And vice-versa. Their prices and timetable suit me very well. In my experience, Turkish are a little above the average, in comparison to American and European airlines. Food is merely okay. Staff are rude sometimes. Their lounge in İstanbul airport is immense but service is far from nice. Kevin unpleasant experience with Turkish Airlines relates to mine.
I think for all the hype their seat are outdated and the service is subpar… i think Most European and American Air carriers are better than Turkish airlines.
I agreed with your review. I flew 4 segment Long Haul in 2019. The food onboard was good and plentiful. The lounge was okay but I like the tea/cofee done turkish style. They also rejected me for pod request in brusque manner. The worst was once after takeoff the crew forbade passengers to go to toilet because turbulence. The turbulence wasn’t bad, so after 45 min waiting I went. A crew accosted me. I told him if I have to wait more the seats will be soaked soon. Then he shut up. Turkish is not even in my top 5 biz class, I had better crew service in economy of Garuda or even some Asian budget air. My favorite is ANA and JAL because the crew are exceptional
Wow, that’s quite a different video, on Turkish and their new hub. But, it’s well said and it’s going to help other travellers when planning a trip. I think I’d go for Qatar, or Emirates rather than Turkish. Nonetheless, great video. Keep them coming!
I just flew Qatar KUL DOH FRA and had the exact same impression you have of TK. I am like after reading all the these rave reviews. Both flights sucked! The best was DOH to FRA 787-8 towed from the hanger area with no APU. So let's think about that. It's 42C out and you put a plane in service with no ability to cool it down. When we boarded in DOH it was 90+ on the plane. Everyone was complaining. People were passing out in Y and this is the 5 star Qatar Airways? I think NOT! Will never fly them again.
I actually find Daxing a much more walkable airport than Capital, even though its footprint is bigger. A lot of thought apparently went into the design of the layout, as well as many traveler-friendly details such as the luggage check-in conveyor belt that slopes down to touch the ground and saves people the trouble of lifting heavy suitcases onto it. PEK's layout does indeed make you walk too much, and it's dotted with aesthetically questionable large-scale decoration pieces, but it doesn't appear/feel cheap and was not built with cheap materials. The "fair-faced concrete" of its columns has a clean, muted elegance . And the extensive use of skylights and glass curtain walls are a great touch, though not the most energy-efficient in winter. The entire terminal 3 is impressive enough, and modern enough, compared to its peer airports, but I agree it's not the most relaxing and welcoming.
I should have been clearer in my comments, but when I'm speaking about the cheaper materials I'm more speaking about the passenger touch materials and facilities. Bathrooms, lounge furniture, eatery seating, gate area layouts, etc. Not questioning the quality of overall construction and do agree that T3 is a beautiful structure. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
It really makes me wonder about all of the opinions I’ve watched and read over the past couple years leading up to these flights giving me a good impression to look forward to. Probably all sponsored content! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
This sounds pretty accurate. TK is pretty famous for often rude staff (it's part of the culture) and bad operational reliability. The new airport also has had tons of problems that are no secret. But better than the Berlin airport I guess that it actually opened.
@@tfft I've never flown through either airport. There were always an airline for me to avoid with better options.Like i said their reputation is nothing new.
I avoid them like hell... Happy everytime to pay a premium on most other Star Alliance airliners to escape TK... I liked their "Gold" lounge at the old airport, this was a cozy spot with premium food... The Gold lounge at the new IST airport is just huge but lacks any style, just a complete let down.
So they delayed your flight overnight, refused to acommodate you in their lounge sleeping areas, and the agent even scolded you? Imagine giving them thousands of dollars for a business class ticket only to feel unappreciated later on... totally unacceptable! "If i give you access, i should let every business class passenger on your flight know and give them access as well"? Well maybe yes, if that adds to passenger comfort that's your job to do
whelp. i will seriously think long and hard about spending my hard earned money on a Turkish airlines business class ticket after seeing your review. it seems other reviews only have good things to say about turkish
Something must have gone wrong here. The food looks horrendous. And yes the airport is ridiculously huge. We timed it. From time we got off the plane to outside was 35 mins which didn't include getting our luggage. Totally nuts. We flew 4 flights in BC with Turkish in October. Our trip was totally different. Our food was brilliant. Better than our last flight on Emirates. Service was fine as was Emirates. Seats as comfy as Emirates. Better than Singapore Airlines A350. They were hard as a rock. You spring to fly BC so you can sleep. Not on Singapore Airlines. Overall we put Qantas as the top BC. Yes they have copped a flogging in the press, but for us they were brilliant. Then Turkish. Emirates. Then Singapore Airlines. Funny how people can have different experiences. I was looking forward to Singapore Air. But for us it didn't live up to the hype. Hard bed. Staff not overly friendly. Food just ok.
When I’m traveling I have precisely one rule: don’t get arrested in a foreign country 🙃… so generally speaking, I keep a cool head regardless of the absurdity- especially in an unpredictable country like Turkey. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Sometimes it feels like you're being critical just for the sake of being critical. Since the brand of your product is "honest unsponsored reviews" it feels like you were trying to be critical to emphasise that brand. I understand this is not a typical example of your products. But some of the complaints in this video were exaggerated. Other felt like they were just made up.
Do you suggest that I put a (fake) positive spin on being told off by staff? Not having decent food in what was at one point one of the best business class lounges? Having in flight food that was presented really sloppily and generally really below expectation? Having your flight cancelled, rescheduled a day later (at my expense) and then delayed 4+ hours further? Or should I just ignore all of the negative bits? My 100+ very positive reviews on the channel speak to the fact that I don’t make critical views just to ‘emphasize my brand’. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@almadani. Either youre turkish ( you should know your customer service are bad ) It seems you never experience paying thousands of dollar from your pay checks and in return you got shitt. Please do first and maybe you understand what @theflipfloptraveler means in his video
@@Nowansbeibe Wow. It appears as though I’ve waded into a brawl between a content developer and a viewer. And the content developer has someone riding shotgun to boot! I’m flying TK from Seattle to Istanbul in 2 days but on a 787. I shouldn’t think aircraft type should impact staff surliness in air, nor the food quality. With respect to be overly critical, I’d say that the frustration the poster experienced before boarding that aircraft influenced the review. Without a doubt. Oh - and to be clear, I’m flying refundable J (I think TK calls it flexible-J).
TK was one of the first airlines to switch to cold boxed meals exclusively during COVID and while that has ended it seems they are holding on to a few of those service cuts unfortunately. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
IMO the "chef" (accurate use of quotations so I am copying you!) is just a gimmick. They do whatever a normal galley assigned FA would do. So I guess this is a genius way of paying someone a bit less wrapped up in a marketing gimmick.
I expect one member of crew to speak the language of the country they are flying to, of course, yes. That's a pretty standard thing that I see on near every flight.
I just completed a business class HK - Istanbul - Berlin return trip and every one of their flights out of Istanbul and Berlin were delayed by between 2 - 5 hours. While I appreciate a flat bed, their planes, service and amenities cannot begin to compare to Asian airlines
I’ve been considering TK for a long haul trip I’ll be making soon .. but you’re not the first to mention the bad staff and crew attitudes .. and I’ll be at the back of the planes , so f*** knows what treatment passengers get there? Thanks again for your genuine feedback on another giant of travel and tourism.. once again passengers get treated as a necessary nuisance.. sometimes I think these workers can forget who is actually paying their salaries..!! 🙏
This is just from my anecdotal experiences, but my previous flight with TK was in economy which was fantastic. I get the feeling that they're making bank on a good economy and mediocre business class. I'll be in their economy again in a couple weeks so we shall see! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I had two flight with them in economy.Copenhagen -Istanbul- Stockholm. Both of their flights were great and both crew fantastic.I loved Istanbul airport. But as I said I was flying economy and can’t wait to fly them in the future
“ we took off on this flight and made it up to Just 35,000 feet” you make that sound so negative pretty must lost me after that. What’s wrong with FL350? Did you have some insight on why they were not assigned FL 390?
@@tfftI apologize if I misunderstood your use of the word “just” in your comment on the flight level. I understand you had a bad experience but with all the negativity it made me question, is this guy really complaining about the FL as well. I mean when you say just it sounds like it did not meet your expectations.
Hi there. I'm so happy that someone revealed the truth about this terrible airline, and terrible new airport. We did have horrible experience on JFK Istanbul flights, and my cash money was pick pocketed at Istanbul's new airport. Horrible, and profoundly awful experience. When we took off from IST, insteads of offering drinks and cocktails they were spreading the bed mattresses in business class, cause they wanted to work less. The.y were hiding from us most of my flights in business class and tried to avoid requests, or orders. Lazy and badly trained crews. Istabul airport business class is OK, but nobody speaks English, and they are not helpful at all. They have their slogan - FLY DIFFERENT - yes, if you want to witness horrible service and total mediocraty
Haha. Thanks for your honest review. I always thought Turkish airline was an over hype from most travelers that been on. Glad i didn’t transfer my points to Turkish LoL

Nice review👍🏻

@@tfftgreat ! Thanks for the quick reply ; and keep up the great reviews 🙏
For the price you're paying for business class, you should have full access to lounges whenever wherever.

Great review! I enjoyed it and you always provide really good information without the gimmicky crap from other UA-camrs.
Thanks very much! I do try to steer clear of making the videos gimmicky- much prefer something efficient and useful. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I certainly hope it wasn't the norm, especially for the food! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I love your reviews. I trully hope you continue this channel as I have yet to find such detailed reviews that makes sense like your videos.
Oh the channel isn’t going anywhere, you can bet on that! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I still cant believe that the seats were smaller by an inch or 2 than some economy seats I’ve flown. Great legroom though
Eh? These seats are 21” wide. There are no economy seats on earth that are 22+”
wide…
Ah, you haven’t booked it yet? To my knowledge their 30% redemption sale ended in December. Perhaps it had been extended. Good luck.
@@tfft I meant I booked it back in Nov or Dec 👍🏼 I just wanted to check on the seat assignments.

The non-staggered seats are already a scond-rate business class these days.

Istanbul Airport was constructed to be huge, because it is planned to be the worlds largest airport in the future, with up to 200 million passengers yearly. not for the sake of being big

Why does this airline not offer champagne as a pre-departure beverage? One of the few who don't.
Certainly not one of the few. Many airlines don't serve alcohol pre departure, especially from outstations.
Your humour is second only in dryness to that Saharan "chicken" you ate. Nice work.
Haha Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Hi there,
thank you for your honest review.
Much love,
Emre
Hahahaha dessert chicken 😂An awesome description of a horrible dried to the core chicken 😅😅

Thanks for sharing ✈️
Great honest review! I really enjoy (and prefer) the vocal narration over the text ones. Just thought I’d share that!
Thanks very much. Narration is surely here to stay.
sad to see you're experience was less than great. before 2020, the reviews of this airline (that i watched) were fairly positive; mostly because of the lounge. between the geo-political situation, and the Turkish economic situation, i'm guessing emerging from lockdowns is more difficult for this airline than many others. hopefully they will regain their glory in the next year 😎
Quite the opposite in fact, to my knowledge Turkey was one of the very first countries to reopen and TK enjoyed healthy load factors (relatively speaking) throughout.

What a stupid and non sense policy of the airline, and the delay was their fault. What a bad service.
110% agree with your video about Turkish. I just returned from IST last week and here's my thoughts:
- Airport is annoyingly big, for no specific reason
- Customer service is non-existent at best. A smile if you're lucky
- I paid for a transit lounge only to find out I can't enter when I arrived
- Shocking as it may sound, the affordable fares on TK do make it a compelling one.
Here goes:
- IST is crazy busy before pre-dawn.
- Despite it's size, we still got a remote gate when there was a aerobridge gate right next to us, with a plane parked, unused.
- Their narrow body domestic planes are nothing more than flying public buses.
- If you're transiting anywhere other than IST, it is just another painful experience
- They put us on a 321-200 to LGW; crew disappeared after meal service, were passive aggressive and my entertainiment equipment was very glitchy.

But still better than United! 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

This sounds pretty accurate. TK is pretty famous for often rude staff (it's part of the culture) and bad operational reliability. The new airport also has had tons of problems that are no secret. But better than the Berlin airport I guess that it actually opened.

Well maybe yes, if that adds to passenger comfort that's your job to do
Haha my thought exactly.

IMO the "chef" (accurate use of quotations so I am copying you!) is just a gimmick. They do whatever a normal galley assigned FA would do. So I guess this is a genius way of paying someone a bit less wrapped up in a marketing gimmick.
What? Do you seriously expect a vietnamese speaking crew on a TURKISH airline?
I expect one member of crew to speak the language of the country they are flying to, of course, yes. That's a pretty standard thing that I see on near every flight.
I just completed a business class HK - Istanbul - Berlin return trip and every one of their flights out of Istanbul and Berlin were delayed by between 2 - 5 hours. While I appreciate a flat bed, their planes, service and amenities cannot begin to compare to Asian airlines
