Really enjoying your trip reports mate, really appreciate the balance and depth put into them - You'll be up with the at the very top of flight reviewers (in terms of reach) in no time so keep up the great work!. Very keen to check out SIA again soon post all the Covid border closures - SIA really appear to excel especially with there short to medium haul regional flight experiences!
Immensely enjoyable. I like the balance of your presence and the content. Really appreciate the details to help me see travel differently. The no-nonsense, fair tone is refreshing. Thank you.
Love your videos, though need to mention, SIA as we know it now did operate narrow bodies when it was set up in 1972, inheriting 707s and 737s from its predecessor MSA. Thereafter it did order and operated 727s and 757s up to the late 1980s I believe (and a single cargo 737 in the 90s)
Yeah i was going to point out the same. No biggy. They had a big falling out with Boeing on the Silk Air division 737 some time ago after a crash. But they moved on and now a large MAX customer.
Great review with appreciation and looking forward to the hotel reviews in Vietnam. We tried the Salinda Resort at Phu Quoc last year based upon your review. My wife loves it there and has been back twice not to mention friends and family who have also stayed there based upon our recommendation...
Thanks for the great video ! Just recently found your channel and am enjoying very much. We are headed to Bali, from Toronto, in the fall. Via EWR and SIN , on SQ Business. Looking at staying at UMA Como simply based on your perfect score . Keep up the great work !
Thanks very much! I've been finding many new viewers are here preciesely becuase of the corridor you mentioned haha. North American escape to Bali! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I’m late to the party today…but thank you for a great review as always! Your channel is growing so fast, almost 30.000 subs! Great you will be making two flights with Asiana this year, haven’t heard or read anything about them in a long time. Really curious to find out what their service level is now.
I'm a bit worried they'll have gone down hill a bit since I presume the focus is on the merger and not Asiana's product, but we shall see! Thanks as always for the support 🙏
Hello Kevin......another Faultless review.....I really Envy you Travelling a lot .... wish I could be like you hehehe......Safe Travels every time and God Bless you always.
@The Flip Flop Traveller you're very much welcome Kev.....what Airline flying out of Philippines to London on Business Class would you recommend please ?.....thinking of going to london for a wedding my Best Friends Wedding on May......flown with Emirates ob Business Class coming here.... loved the Stop Over in Dubai as I needed to buy some Gold amd again...thinking of getting some again when I fly back on May.....your recommendation will be very much appreciated bruv.
Nice thorough review. I have an upcoming flight BKK-SIN on a SQ 787-10 and I reserved the same seat as you. I made sure to avoid 16A which has a misaligned window.
Like this video. Will try SIA(B4 Singapore International Airlines ) d next time to SAigon .tried a couple times to other destinations Great services n food .
Love your videos. Will you release anything related to Ho Chi Minh for this November trip? I'm visiting soon and would love to visit your recommendations.
@@tfft Cool! Can't wait to see which hotel it is. I was getting bored with travelling but found motivation in experiencing for myself places that are thoroughly and objectively reviewed.
178 was 78X August through (almost) the end of October. I have a 737-800 scheduled with them soon which I’m hoping it swaps out to the Max, but not holding my breath lol. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft I’ve never been on an A320neo Family plane, but it’ll take a lot for it to beat the MAX from a passenger experience perspective. Boeing Sky Interior is a winner with the large windows and pivot-style overhead storage bins. They hold a lot will opening up the cabin nicely. The MAX is super quiet too.
Ah well while I have no hesitation to fly the MAX (I was responding to the guy telling me not to fly them 😅) I am a firm believe that A320 family aircraft provide a much more comfortable customer experience than any 737, which I always find to be cramped with freakishly small bathrooms lol.
Those rough patches on the cockpit windows are residual left from Covid era when these planes have to stay on the tarmac waiting to be flown again. During those times windows would be covered up with speed tapes and shades to prevent heat up inside the cabin that could cause damage to avionics inside the cockpit and cabin furniture. When these planes go back into service, peeling off those speed tapes would more likely to leave residual marks, as seen on your particular 78X in the video. Anyway, I’m glad you prefer the A350 👍 (from an “unbiased” A350 pilot)
😅 It’s never been a surprise to me that I feel like I see a whole lot more AIRBUS lanyards walking through airports than the same from Boeing. At least from a pax perspective- Airbus is always more comfortable when comparing competing aircraft types (except perhaps for the 747 which holds its own simply for the nostalgia…). Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I flew on SQ's 787-10 from Manila to Singapore at the end of last October. I was in business class and after 4 hours, I got off the plane with a slight backache. There seem to be a design issue with the seat's back rest; it's probably too curved. The business class seats on SQ's A350 and 777 are more back friendly.
The con of this seat is that it doesn't have a leg rest. It's nice and relaxing to watch a movie in a semi recline position with a leg rest up. Sometimes it's easier to dose of to sleep in this 'zero gravity' position.
Fair enough- that's actually how I normally sleep on long flights, honestly never thought about it for these SQ seats because my regional flights are usually under 3 hours. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
If my visa comes through, I’ll be on this morning flight in the next week. Did you find transiting between terminals 2 and 3 easy? I want to go to Kris Silver Lounge. Thx and appreciate the video.
Terminals 1, 2, 3 are all one big connected terminal, more like 3 concourses than 3 terminals. You can walk or take the sky train between them. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
They have no knowledge of you being on board - not quite. They have your actual name (well all carriers need that for security reasons). But the shot at 4:30 struck me because they have the "Gate Closing" indicator when you said boarding began 30 minutes before departure. This is my biggest pet peeve about Changi - they put unnecessary psychological pressure for you to turn up to the gate with such indicators. SIA made it clear their gates close 10 minutes before departure so the "Gate closing" indicator is quite misleading. Other than that you've provided us with an amusing video.
Keeping track of lounge-access rights: now more difficult than financial derivatives trading. Found myself doing some advance planning for a return Heathrow-Changi flight, a month out, and was surprised to see Singapore coming in the cheapest. Good, I want to fly 'em. Tip top review.
I don’t use LoungeBuddy to ever buy access but it’s by far the best app just to see every lounge available. You can also input which credit cards/memberships you have and it’ll automatically tell you which you have access to. Use it in 90% of airports. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Ah... Memories. I used to work for MI, actually. Felt like a lifetime ago. Been a while since I've stepped in board an SQ flight. Made no sense when I lived in Singapore when they were so expensive, either work paid for my flights or I redeemed. So ever since I moved to Australia, I've not experience any of their new generation jets. I gotta say, SQ's regional product puts a lot of other airlines to shame. This is coming from me, just relegated to QF VA 737s as a regular travel diet. 😂
@@tfft you see... ALL the flights on QF featured on my channel are purely redemption only. I would never EVER pay money to fly them. I used Jetstar to shore up QF points, and that's how I roll. Eager to hear your views about QF.
Hey! i've a question. Am connecting in SGN, arriving at 6.25pm and departing again at 11.25. First time landing on VN soil and was wondering if leaving the airport is feasible? Also, does one need to remove one's shoes at security? Thanks so much.
International to international transfers are not common at SGN. There is no fast track, but likely wouldn’t be necessary anyway. If your flights are on the same ticket, with bags checked through to HND, you won’t be entering Vietnam and will remain in the air-side transit area.
@@tfft Thanks! Yes, i know I would remain airside but I was wondering if it's feasible, time wise, to leave the airport for the city since I've never been to VN before.
I would say no definitely not worth it. Driving to District 1 (where I assume you’d want to go) takes 20-45 mins in each direction depending on traffic. Also, even if you were eligible to enter the country visa free I could imagine immigration taking issue with you entering with an onwards flight 5 hours later.
I still prefer A350 over B777. The overhead lighting is terrible on the B777 but I had no issue on the A380. I would normally select a flight on the A350. Quieter.
I have to offer a warning to those flying the SQ 787-10 in Business Class: If you happen to be a "person of size" you will need to select one of the seats closer to the aisle, because you may find it VERY difficult (if not impossible) to squeeze past the storage unit on the side! And you may find the seat itself rather too narrow for comfort. WHY did they scrap those lovely A330s which used to be deployed on their regional routes?
Just to put it out there- the seat width itself is significantly wider on the 787-10s compared to the old A330s. On the 787s you can put the arm rests down on both sides, where on the A330 they were stationary. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft The physical measurements may be wider but it’s possible the seat FEELS smaller because of the walls on both sides. In any case, it is VERY difficult to get into the seat (if you happen to be large around the waist) unless you have the seat which is closer to the aisle, available in alternate rows of the cabin.
Once again a great tripreport. You're gonna grow so fast, one of the best tripreporters on youtube!👍
