Hi there. I'm a TV producer/director and I think this is easily the most TV-like travel review channel out there. Most guys/gals want to make it about themselves but you make it about the trip - as it should be. You have mastered the art of editing 'b footage' with main shots and a very well-written script. Well done sir! Keep it up.
Thanks very much for that. I’ve always believed that B-roll can’t necessarily make a video great, but it sure can make it crappy haha… so I have always tried to find a balance. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@skyyyy787B-roll is secondary footage that is used to fill in and give context to what is being said. When you watch a video and the person is talking to the camera thays a-roll. Just don't understand why you don't have more subscribers-you've turned subjective into an artform; informative, well scripted and FUNNY commentary. The best reviewer right now...
When shock content isn’t part of your regular upload schedule things go slower in this genre. But, not complaining at all… this time last year I was under 3k subs. All in due time! Thanks for the kind words and for watching 🙏🏻
They used to give pretty comprehensive amenity kit before Covid, wrapped in nice fake leather pouch. I think I still have 1 or 2 unwrapped still. If you take an overnight flight, they give PJs as well. Oman air, Muscat Airport, along their lounge, has always been one of my best experience (maybe just topped by Singapore Air). Fantastic channel though, keep up the good work!!
There are channels that feature reviews without voice. Then there are channels that feature the person traveling who gives a review on camera. I like your approach…you focus on the product, not you, but you still narrate and give great information. Well done!
The Sultanate of Oman is a country rich of kindhearted and welcoming people. The understatement seen in Oman Air's Apex product resonates the very same Omani values. Being born in Muscat, I can truly understand why aviation enthusiasts love Oman Air's product & service! You would love to visit the Alila, Anantara, Sixth Senses properties Oman has to offer! Sorry but nostalgia caught me with your impressive review of the flight! Looking forward for WY's flagship route in first class Kevin!
I’m so glad Oman Air lived up to it’s stellar reputation with a few friends who are so loyal they endure long transits from Sydney to connect. Kevin congrats on asking and getting a fly past of Muscat. Simply beautiful shots. I can’t wait for the first review (and the lounge) though in fairness that hard product is older than this flight. Many thanks as always for a great video. ❤
Took the exact same flight but in the reverse MCT-BKK instead last Nov (+ in First class). Easily the best flight I've ever been on (made even better thanks to the amazing Oman lounge in Muscat + the fact that I was the only passenger in the whole cabin!). They also provided a superb Amouage amenity kit on that flight (even got one in Oman Business CDG-MCT) and a great pajama set with excellent slippers. All-in-all, I'm not sure there's much (anything?) that will ever top that experience for me! P.S. Great video, made me nostalgic!
I've been watching your channel since you were at 17K subs or so. Growth has been fantastic and well deserved. Keep it up and wishing you all the best!
Thanks Kev for your unbiased and informative video. I'm considering a flight to Europe with them, because I've heard other glowing reports like yours. I love Emirates, but time for a change. Cheers.
I flew Oman business in September 2023 and loved everything about it, there is a vibe that is tranquil and easy. Might be the colours and the staff. Loved it so much I'm doing it again in 2024 :)
Pre-covid on overnight flights Oman Air not only provided amenity kits but also pyjamas! Flew with them twice and was always amazed by everything. Highly recommend this airline!
Excellent video. Such an ‘in depth’ report that covers everything off in my view. Great style, presentation and captures every aspect of the flight from inception to conclusion. A pleasure to watch and listen to such an articulate account. Love your videos. Keep up the fabulous work. I can’t wait for each video
Great review, really covered all bases and held my attention nicely. I've been debating booking this product for a trip in November, think I'm sold. Good job! 👍
Hi Kevin. I really enjoy your channel so much because you are the only reviewer giving us the specs of the seat. If possible, I wish you can review Korean Air Apex Suite on 747-8. Love your reviews of my homeland, Vietnam.
It's also good. I even favor Apex suite window seat than any other seat. At the beginning, this seat was designed as "high capacity first class" by BE Aerospace. I am really curious about the next generations of this product.
Thanks for great review. I flew Oman Air four times in business class in 2019. I would have to agree with you on your assessment. From Casablanca to Muscat I had the best prawns I have ever had, not just in an aircraft but the best ever. All the food was good but the prawns went to another level. Along with Turkish airlines Oman have had the best food on any airline I have flown. Great service and good wine what else do you want. In 2019 I flew four times with Oman air and on each leg I got a high quality amenity kit. The business class lounge in Muscat is pretty good as well.
I've flown Oman Air Business Class many times over the years since they started using the A330. The 787 brought things to another level. Always a great experience.
wow that is a high score. Definitely worth trying. I got so many places to see, hotels o stay at and planes to catch from watching your videos. Don't think I will live long enough to complete it. 🙏👍
You are generous. I would have taken at least 5 points off for the amenity kit. Suvarnabhumi Airport badly diminishes First and Business Class experiences for all passengers lately as the Fast Track queue through security took upwards of 45 minutes last in the beginning of February. Almost missed my flight.
Wow! Great review Kevin. Now I have to fly with Oman Air from Germany to Bangkok😊. And be asured that now that airline gonna get lota bookings in the near future😜👍.
Amazing video as always ❤ thanks for sharing again Kevin. I tried to look in the description where / how you book your flights. Do you use a specific website or anything? Many thanks and keep up the amazing work! Thanks from down under
I subscribe to as many business class groups on FB and Google News as I can and keep my eye out. Otherwise use Google Flights for a full continent search. For reward tickets it’s dependent upon the airline’s release schedule but I generally book 10-12 months in advance for them. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Flown last week Mxp/Mct/Cgk and while on flight from Milan offered a nice leather pouch by Amouage although no more perfume inside as before Covid time, on Jakarta flight disappointed to receive for a longer journey yr same underrated amenity kit that suppose is what expect on all flights to Far East. Agreed with wonderful product offered by Omanair and glad to wander for a full day transit in Muscat and surroundings including wonderful Wadi Shab. My compliments for your usually nice, attentive and above all independent reviews.
Great Video Kevin, thoroughly enjoy your content, as what I would consider an 'expert in the field'. I have upcoming travel in Class I and had to make the hard decision between EY, SQ and WY for my travels, due to A/C types, I opted for EY 388 & 789 and SQ 781 and 388 for my return. With the only reason for not choosing WY being the second leg of my journey which would be operated by their 737-MAX cabin in a 2-2-2 config without direct aisle access. I wonder what you would have chosen!
Ironically I would have gone with Oman Air becuase of the 737 Max, which is the only aircraft/airline combo in your list I haven't flown yet lol. That aside, I'd probably have gone with your picks with the exception of choosing SQ A350s/777s if it was possible. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Outstanding review! Gotta add Oman Air to the list now to try out.... but even better if it can be booked with Aeroplan! I was just curious about your review process since you wrote out the script 6 weeks later and plus with the amount of traveling you do, how do you keep everything straight and so detail oriented and specific? Really more than any reviewer, I'm just imagining you scribbling down meticulous notes in between shots during the flight 😆
Thanks very much! It's hard to describe this without it coming off as neglectful lol- but I find the videos turn out a lot better and are actually more accurate if I focus on the lasting impressions instead of the knee jerk reactions and responses I have in the moment- good or bad. When I score and review, I'm trying to look at it all through the eyes of who I imagine the 'average potential customer' would be. The video clips (I generally way over film) plus the history lessons I put myself through generally spit out a good balance of detail. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
We just flown Oman Air Business Class FRA-MCT-BKK and return, same amazing experience. Excellent Amenity kit from Amouage was provides for Frankfurt flights. To Bangkok 'pijamas'.
Great review, thanks for sharing! Oman are offering some super competitive Australia-Europe business class deals at the moment (about $5.5K) with MH via KL or TG via BKK on the Australia-Asia sector. That's by far the absolute cheapest business class to Europe atm.
Were you able to book that price? Oman Air (combined with TG or VN) have for a few months now displayed very cheap fares to my neck of the woods on Google Flights, but when clicking through the price jumps up 50% when getting to the booking site's page.
Being in bed struck down with flu and fever, this was a delightful pick me up and much welcome escapism 💭 Shame their network is rather limited, would love to try them. However, do have to admit I prefer direct seat access and not through this small passage way…I would feel rather confined and restricted, but maybe I can only judge that actually having tried them…! Also I so much LOVE the Diptique products and amenity kit on Qatar, it would be hard for me to miss out on them 🙈 I know first world problems 🙇🏻♀️ Thank you for the great review!
I'll be honest, I'm actually a bit claustrophobic and was genuinely worried about flying in APEX suites the first time I ever did it- but they really (really) are not as 'enclosed' as some people portray them to be. Of course it's my own perception but as someone who doesn't like closed spaces (ironic career, I know lol) I gotta assume if it's open enough for me, it would be open enough for most. I think many people see the layout and assume it's going to be similar to BA's old Club World seats- which it's lightyears ahead of. Thanks as always for the support and hope you're feeling better soon!
Great video like always. If the item in the amenity kit at 17:16 that looked like a set of airpod pros were airpod pros then the flip flop score would have gotten the 100 points!
Who knows how you came into your fortune, but unlike the vast majority, you clearly enjoy it full-time! There are guys who own yachts that barely step aboard once a year! Kudos for living life as it should be lived for anyone with enough funds to do so!
I think many forget that UA-cam is a business for Creators as much as for Google. I'm fortunate to make what I love to do into my job, but if you knew my weekly schedule, I reckon it wouldn't seem as wonderful lol. Thanks for watching 🩴
Good video! Judging by your videos, it seems like you are on the road non-stop for month at a time. What do you do when you get to the destination besides enjoy the lounge, the hotel or food? Any chance of a behind the scene video, like a day in the live of a travel vlogger, with all the work that goes into making the videos including the trip planning (it can't all be glizz and glamour).
I highly doubt someone would want to watch a hyperlapse of me sitting at my computer and editing 14 hours a day 😅 You’re correct that it’s not all glitz and glamor… very very little of it is, in fact lol. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Sadly, I've never flown Oman before. However, as a Bangkokian Priority Pass cardholder, I get to enjoy the Oman Air lounge at Suvarnabhumi. It's my most visited and easily my favourite Bangkok lounge especially given that Champagne is included! Yup, not kidding! Considering that a sizable number of Priority Pass lounges all over the world would charge you extra per glass of Prosecco, let alone Champagne, this alone makes this lounge worth it in spite of its smaller size and limited hot food offerings. Fantastic review by the way!
I fly Oman between Dubai and Manila pretty frequently (changing planes at Muscat). Invariably a great experience and, along with Qatar, my two favorite airlines.
Great video Kevin yet again, your video editing is really upping it since you started as i work my way through your "massive" amount of output. I now fear that the fabled 1st class will let you down ... only time will tell, onto that video now. I just want it to be so good PS Oman itself is a bit shit from what I have heard.
I'd question the sanity of those who told you Oman was a bit shit lol. Just finished editing 3 Oman resort videos, it's one of the most fascinating and beautiful destinations on earth.
Great vid interesting. More this year. Now this was very informative as far as traveling in first or overseas BUSSINESS class. Long haul. But your next flight can you do a walk thur of the whole plane if possible.. look economy seats suck mostly. The new phase is the airline's coach extra or some fancy name but looks better then standard coach on long haul flights.. air new Zealand 🇳🇿 was rated number 1 in economy plus I think. But there flights are all long hauls..next vid can you change the music to soft jazz or hotel type piano lounge music.. a good song for taxing and night take off is the shadow of your smile. Instrumental version. Your grade today is ........ A ... post more soon please.
While I do have plenty of economy reviews coming up in 2023, I'm not really a fan of creators walking from a premium class into economy with a camera in hand, during the flight. I try to be as discreet as possible and I'm afraid this would be anything but discreet lol. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Star Alliance has always been my goto. Skyteam coming in second just for convenience. But Oman Air joining OW is really making me rethink status goals for 2024! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft I'm JFK/LGA based and I have oneworld Emerald status with British Airways. Considering the amount of premium cabin flying you do, you could easily qualify every year. I really value the lounge access and free seat selection when flying domestically with AA and AS. Plus the international first class lounges on my few international trips.
Flew with Oman air a couple of years ago to Colombo in economy. May be the best economy flight i've ever seen in 25 years of travel. Well done Oman air !
Been flying that route 2x now 2019 & 2022 and further to Germany from Muscat in Business class. Very enjoyable flights. Seats are indeed fantastic and so is the airport. Food & Service in our opinion was good but a little unpolished on all legs on both occasions. Wine service is kind of filling the glass to the rim...not complaining but not quite right. Sometimes we felt they made up with quantity while missing the last bit of quality. Never had an issue, always punctual and yet to loose any luggage. Overall so far for us too one if not the Best experience we had.
I noticed on both of my flights and in the lounge that my first pours (of wine/champagne) were standard (if not a scant short)… but every glass there after was a hefty pour, which I quite enjoyed haha. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Remarkable. The better known airlines based in Gulf countries are good. Who would have thought Oman Air would be even better? What a pity they don't fly to Australia yet. If they do, I hope their economy class will be good.
I would love to try Oman air and visit Oman. Great news about them joining the one world alliance. Like you said, now they just need to fly to the US. 🤞
@The Flip Flop Traveller you need to check out the Jumeirah Muscat Bay when you visit. I just checked it out as a wedding venue (was too small), and it was one of the most stunning properties I have ever visited. Glad to see our national carrier is getting such great reviews.
Singapore and Vistara (same system) simply for the interactive kids version of the map and the ability to get facts about any city- small or large- you’re flying over on the adults map. Otherwise, as long as it’s possible to manipulate the map and there aren’t interruptive ads or PSAs through (👀 Qatar), I’m a fan.
Hello Kevin, I just got back from Bangkok and thought it would be useful to share my feedback with you and your viewers. I took two Oman Air biz flights earlier this year and four other legs in biz last week. Like with many other airlines, my experience really depended on the cabin crew in charge of my section. I was traveling with my wife so it was interesting to see how other cabin crew members performed. Usually, she is unlucky and I would say this was the case this time again. Based on our experience in the past, I wonder if certain cabin crew treat guests differently. Gender and age may play a role. Let's quickly mention the things I liked during our flights with Oman Air to give a fair representation: Apex suits are great. The old business seats on their a330 are spacious and I would argue they are even more comfortable though you have much less privacy. They look old and outdated which was not really a problem for me. I like the Amanity kid and products from Amouage though I have to point out that it is not a French brand. Dining on board is a la card and you can theoretically chose when you wanna have your meal. I found cabin crew sometimes to be a bit sneaky. I have the feeling some crew members wanna get over with the meal service as quickly as possible and then hang out in the galley. They don't even give you the option of eating later. Lastly, I like the connecting experience at Muscat airport. It's a relatively small airport with short walks to and from the lounge. Fast track security at this airport worked well too what I cannot say from other airports unfortunately. Often times you are quicker with the normal lane because families with children get to use the 'fast' track too. Food on board was excellent except for the cheese which (like with most other airlines) is low quality. I think that's a good example for cost cutting. The Oman Air lounge is really nice. Now to the not so pleasant things. I found it shocking (especially 2 days after the Japan Airlines A350 crash at Haneda) to have a passenger right next to me sleeping in lie flat position while all her window blinds were closed UNTIL block on at the gate. When I have a bit more time I will probably report this incident to EASA or the German Luftfahrt Bundesamt because this is not acceptable. While you can still get an excellent service in their business class, like with most other airlines, there is no real consistency. If you are unlucky, the cabin crew might forget your orders and then not apologize for the oversight or even lie to you. My wife tried to put the seat into the lie flat position, without success, and asked the crew member whether the 160 degree angle was normal. His response was yes without admitting that the seat was broken. Besides, very low motivation which is the problem most of the time with cabin crew (and probably employees in any other industry) who does not deliver. To put this into a percentage, I would say 60 to 70 percent of the time the service was very good. Having said that, if I hadn't witnessed the cabin crews disregard for safety, I would have recommended Oman Air biz class to people how are looking for an above average biz class experience. I certainly no longer hold the opinion that Oman Air provides one of the best business class experiences and I wonder if it is still worth all the money. Flying coach with fewer expectations looks increasingly appealing to me.
Looks like Oman Air heard the feedback on their amenity kit (or lack thereof). They now offer a full kit in a proper bag that includes a set of Amouage products.
I am so elated that we’re amazed by WY, it was about time after that fiasco with KW… you’re such of gent that it was well deserved. A quich question are You wearing hawaiianas sandals from Brasil or Argentina 😂😂😂 21:51
The ones in the videos were actually purchased in GRU haha. I don't think I've ever noticed an 'Industria Argentina' tag on any that I've ever bought in the US though either haha. Thanks as alwasy for the support 🙏🏻
I wish the review was on economy class as I can't afford to travel Business. Great information though. Great attention to detail. ps....even though this review is not on economy I do like the color palate of the plane. And it is possible that the service in economy is just as good. Oman is a very stable country even though it is near Yemen where the population is starving.
Never said I paid for wine. As I said in the video the prices that I added to the graphic in red are sample current prices of the bottles so you can see the value you’re getting.

I'll be flying with them business DEL-MCT in December. This has really whetted my appetite... Thanks.
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
@@tfft Thanks! I certainly did. A wonderful boutique experience. And Oman itself is fabulous.
We just flown Oman Air Business Class FRA-MCT-BKK and return, same amazing experience. Excellent Amenity kit from Amouage was provides for Frankfurt flights. To Bangkok 'pijamas'.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great review - objectively subjective! Great camera work too. (the fish looks amazing)
It was incredible! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

@@tfft I've only seen it advertised locally through specialist travel agencies, haven't tried to book it though
Reading between the lines, I’m getting the sense that you enjoyed this flight. 😂 Nice one, glad it exceeded expectations. 👍
I'm glad the subtle cues came through 😅
Nice vlog I went to the same airport but not destination I went to Bahrain on the 787-9 and it was great

I Like The OMAN AIR Business Class On B787-9 Great Work
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great video like always. If the item in the amenity kit at 17:16 that looked like a set of airpod pros were airpod pros then the flip flop score would have gotten the 100 points!
If it was, then surely it would have gotten a 101 🙃 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
My favorite airline company to East Asia, excellent service and delicious food 😊

Hi Kevin, great review. Thanks so much 🙏
My pleasure! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Hello Kevin.....Loved your Video Reviews......
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@The Flip Flop Traveller you're very much welcome Kev
I fly Oman between Dubai and Manila pretty frequently (changing planes at Muscat). Invariably a great experience and, along with Qatar, my two favorite airlines.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great video Kevin yet again, your video editing is really upping it since you started as i work my way through your "massive" amount of output.
I now fear that the fabled 1st class will let you down ... only time will tell, onto that video now.
I just want it to be so good
PS Oman itself is a bit shit from what I have heard.
Can't wait to try them once they join oneworld. Awesome review as usual.
I just flew them the other day in economy and would have to agree it’s also great. Thanks for watching 🩴
Oman is a must visit country. Great country and good people. Highly recommended.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Their economy is known to be excellent. But yes, I too wish they’d expand their network just a bit further. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I would love to try Oman air and visit Oman. Great news about them joining the one world alliance. Like you said, now they just need to fly to the US. 🤞
I'm VERY much looking forward to my Oman trip later this year (these flights were just passing through). Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@The Flip Flop Traveller you need to check out the Jumeirah Muscat Bay when you visit. I just checked it out as a wedding venue (was too small), and it was one of the most stunning properties I have ever visited.
Glad to see our national carrier is getting such great reviews.
@@tfft I'll appreciate the hotel reviews
Couldn't get any idea how young and pleasing the crew is...
Ummm. Ok lol
Forget Newark! I hope Oman Air sets up a route to/from Houston, Texas!
Let's just, do both! :) Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
how you pulled that landing view is amazing and incredulous.
(Was a joke lol)
@@tfft yes, i gathered that but a man can dream 😏
Wow. Now I am looking forward even more to our flight with Oman Air from Frankfurt to Bangkok this year. Great video
It's worth the high hopes build up 😅 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Moving maps for the win! @Kevin - Who in your opinion, has the best moving map?
Singapore and Vistara (same system) simply for the interactive kids version of the map and the ability to get facts about any city- small or large- you’re flying over on the adults map.
Otherwise, as long as it’s possible to manipulate the map and there aren’t interruptive ads or PSAs through (👀 Qatar), I’m a fan.
@@tfft I'm yet to fly either of those carriers ... perhaps they just bumped up a few spots on my list especially SQ :P
Welcome to oman to all who watch the video and to all subscribers .. best wishes

Thanks for sharing ✈️
Looks like Oman Air heard the feedback on their amenity kit (or lack thereof). They now offer a full kit in a proper bag that includes a set of Amouage products.
Very interesting and analysed information, much better to the comments from people seeking and getting free tickets.
Appreciate that!
How does Oman business compare to JAL and Korean Business? In terms of comfort?
We are proud of oman air …as we ilve in oman 🇴🇲 and like it
I cannot find that mounting on your gear link

Thanks for watching 🩴
Very good vid.
But why are you paying for wine in Biz class?
I've never seen that before.
Never said I paid for wine. As I said in the video the prices that I added to the graphic in red are sample current prices of the bottles so you can see the value you’re getting.
Dude so influential.. he got the captain to do a merry go round before landing.
I wish 😅
Love u from Thai fan❤

How many times a year have you fly to BKK?
Bangkok has many more interesting airlines (and much cheaper fares) than my home airport… so, quite often lol.
