Instead of using masking in capcut, you can cut the object (i.e. you walking) and place the text behind that layer, that would be more finer as you did in the video. 2:27
You need to use a different method for masking in capcut First you remove the background of the character, then you put it on overlay. Then, you put the text in between both the cut out background of the person and the person with the background. I can’t completely remember if you can change the text layer, but if you can’t, do the masking, put a black background behind the text, save the video, add the text, and use chroma key to remove the black. Then put it on overlay and change the layer to behind the person

1:50 that is false tho, After Effects has an automatic rotoscoping function, you don‘t have to do that manually. You can do the masking you did in this video in like 5mins.
I learned editing with CapCut, and switched to more professional programs after like 1-2 years. But I can say, this is still the most beginner friendly editing program you can use to learn editing. It just lacks in the detailed control over everything, which is why I switched eventually.
This is great! I am actually using capcut as it is free and you can actually get the same result. Not a hundred percent when it comes to vfx but there is an alternative doing that. However, if you are into vid editing. Capcut is the best choice. I wish that they can also create a free software for motion graphics.
sorry but you dont get the same result as after effects neither is it the best choice, but if you dont really know how to edit capcut is a good option to start on

@@nonimaginary According to the Adobe's website, it's a motion graphics app. It's a separate software from Premiere Pro that editors use if they wanna add additional graphics to their video.
Great video. Dont forget about that you used premiere pro and after effect to get the same results vs capcut. I switched from davinci resolve to capcut. Capcut is good enough for youtube. But not good enough for filmmaking.
I'm trying out davinci resolve is it good for long videos or cap cut good for fast editing plus exporting long videos? I'm used to cap cut on phone but I never tried it on PC I wanna know if it's good before I waste my time
I used to use SVP,AE,C4D and Blender maybe 6 or more years ago took a break and now I’m using CapCut. the improvement mobile editing softwares has gotten over the years is crazy and is so convenient. it just makes things so much easier being able to shoot content on my phone or osmo pocket 2 and whack it into the app rather than have to transfer 4K 60fps footage to my PC or upload it to my cloud. Super helpful when you’re on the go too. Only downside to mobile editing is when you start using more effects and layering your phone gets hot & the app tends to crash. but tbh that’s expected since it’s literally competing with PC software
Btw, CapCut also has a remove background feature that also works pretty well. copy the video, turn the copy into a overlay, remove the background on the copied overlay, add blur to the Main Video and bang you get a pretty cool Bokeh effect
As capcut editor I can say that there are 2 types of masking the type u use is simpler but u can see the results but the 2nd type will take something like 5minutes for new people (it takes me 1-2 minutes) I call it remove background it's pretty much Same as u did but it will look better than the after effect
Really enjoyed this as a content creator learning to do more advanced VFX and editing. Would be informative to have some kind of wrap-up/conclusion at the end talking about your experience with both software, when to use CAPCUT and when to use AE.
For the masking section another way you can do it is by cutting out the person or object and select overlay to make it an overlay - go into another project to add your text and add a green screen or photo behind, download this project bring it back into your main project and add it in as an overlay and select cutout and chrome key and make it so it’s a clear background and mess around with the layers and add an animation on it - you can add an animation before uploading the text project and omg I relays this sounds rly confusing 😅😅
As someone who has been editing many years, I have tried most of the top end professional editing software. I use capcut for smaller simpler projects but use Dvainci Resolve for my more advanced projects. I can confidentiality say capcut meets my needs for 90% of what I do. The key is to use it in combination with a higher end program.
I know this won't be related to masking, but for capcut, you can also place the text behind an object - Duplicate the video. - Make it an overlay, then adjust it to be under your main-track clip. - Go to remove bg, then select the object that you want the clip to be behind. (Colour in the object.) - Add the text as an overlay. - Go to layers to place the text behind the duplicated clip.
It's great and amazing to see what an editor like CapCut can do today. New tech should always be able to triumph old tech. iMovie was a revelation compared to the 3/4 U-Matic and Moviolas we used to cut on!
yes, about the tracking in after effects you can track the camera, so the 3d space. After effects also need a preparation in pre-production, a phase of video making, for example to one of my job I needed to put a photo in a frame but we hadn't the photo, we put a white paper and drew 4 dots on each angle. In After I tracked those dots with the camera track, put some effect on and in 20 minutes the result seems real. In cup cut I don't know if u can do that but is a decent app to fast edit a video, you ave the basic of everything but professional programs need time to make effects and create effects, not using preset because you can't find a perfect preset you need, and when you can't you have to been able to do that without the help of preset. So, for me as a professional editor, and I'm still learning, after effects win in each step for the versality, customization and flexibility but a thing I can say is cup cut is a time saver to easy thing like the those in the video.
2:37 you can fix this (for capcut) So you will add an overlay of the person walking, then click cutout, and Remove Backround, if not, do a custom cutout. it works so well.
2:29 to make this even more like after effect you can just copy those video to 2 then use use remove background (remove the background on 2nd videos) it should be very similar and more easier.
2:29 remove the background and then add it to the og vid but you have got to do it perfectly that aligns with the body and then when you try the same steps, capcut's looks the same
2:30 can’t you trace the object, in this case you, and make it into another layer of video, and then putting the text in the middle layer of those two (the normal video and the cutout one) I don’t know if I explained myself
Why do you need to mask out every single frame when masking? There's a "track to end of clip" feature in Davinci Resolve where the programm sticks the mask to the object and tracks the movement itself - Is that not available in After Effects?
Using the Rotoscoping brush would be faster and more accurate than manually masking like you did in AE. Still insightful video, I'm curious of capcut editing only for editing to short-form popular music.
2:35 Brother try it one more time just adjust masking line to the centre of your body and just add overlay of same video with cutout of body And it will become the same video as after effect 🤟😇 You are really a great editor thanks for the video😇

@@Z3phyrG4mingI'm a cupcut editor
Yessss
they don't know our capabilities, I didn't even pay for the pro version and I create miracles in free version XD
For 2:37 there are some ways to make it more seamless and more professional
At the masking you could've used the roto brush tool in after effects. Which is actually a lot faster and it tracks automatically.
yes bro, these things take just 2 minutes, and he was always saying 20 minutes or 30 minutes, clearly after effects is the better software, but one thing we should admit is that CPACUT is very powerful
@@imbatman.007 powerful, free and easy to learrn. AE is more complex, complete, precise, more powerful and paid.
@@imbatman.007 yeah fr,ppl really underestimate capcut,i saw a dude who literally edited a vid in capcut like some sort of a guy who mastered the essence of editing.
4:35 actually, turning up the intensity can remove the green outline on capcut.
although after effects is an amazing editing app with lots of details to provide a good edit, capcut is extremely simple and easy to use and the more you use it the more complex it gets, but in an easy way. there’s so much stuff especially for a free mobile editing app that can end up in a very good edit! i’m glad you made this fair!
There's capcut for PC.
Fr
Instead of using masking in capcut, you can cut the object (i.e. you walking) and place the text behind that layer, that would be more finer as you did in the video. 2:27
You need to use a different method for masking in capcut
First you remove the background of the character, then you put it on overlay.
So it's capcut 4 AE 1 😅
nah this is complicated@@XDpresso
thats exactly what i said, he just didnt have the knowledge on how to use the app right
Most underrated UA-camr Award goes to you fr, love the vids keep it up ❤
Thankyou 🥹
2:00 You can overlap the video click remove background on the overlay and then done :D just put whatever you want under the overlay (layer)
Nicolas man, You and @creativesuitetutorials have been my top UA-cam channels to learn pro capcut edits. You make tutorials about full edits while CST make tutorials about each feature of capcut pc. Thanks to both of you
i used capcut for pc yesterday and its crazy how easy and fast it is. It tracks or identifies objects way better than premiere.
Yeah Capcut is pretty easy to learn but it doesn't give you as much control as premiere or Da Vinci Resolve
1:50 that is false tho, After Effects has an automatic rotoscoping function, you don‘t have to do that manually. You can do the masking you did in this video in like 5mins.
Hii
Here before this blows up

4:30 fun fact, you can actually make the green almost invisible by increasing the intensity to almost 100 and shadow to 100
I learned editing with CapCut, and switched to more professional programs after like 1-2 years.
It’s pretty strong software especially for a phone app !
sorry but you dont get the same result as after effects neither is it the best choice, but if you dont really know how to edit capcut is a good option to start on
lmao 0% on vfx
in my opinion , speed ramping is so much intuitive and easier than anything else on capcut even though after effects is my go to for other things
The real question now is: What did you use to edit this video?
Fr
after effects ofc
Capeffects

0:21 🎯 Tracking in Cap Cut is faster than After Effects while delivering comparable results.
1:28 🎭 After Effects excels in masking with precise control and better final quality.
2:41 🚀 Cap Cut offers simpler and effective speed ramping compared to After Effects.
4:04 🎥 After Effects provides superior tools for special effects like green screen removal.
4:39 🎶 Cap Cut simplifies complex effects like face tracking, making it more accessible.
0:01 - I'm confused, Adobe After Effects is not a video editor, Premiere Pro is.
Then what is after effects?
@@nonimaginary According to the Adobe's website, it's a motion graphics app. It's a separate software from Premiere Pro that editors use if they wanna add additional graphics to their video.
They both are
@@morelukeplayz6953so its basically a video editor
5:09 damn what is taht cake my bro
Great video. Dont forget about that you used premiere pro and after effect to get the same results vs capcut. I switched from davinci resolve to capcut. Capcut is good enough for youtube. But not good enough for filmmaking.
I'm trying out davinci resolve is it good for long videos or cap cut good for fast editing plus exporting long videos? I'm used to cap cut on phone but I never tried it on PC I wanna know if it's good before I waste my time
Capcut is mainly good for things like vlogs or shorts which aren't my type so i plan to soon change capcut for davinci resolve
The real question is.. Which app did he edit this on?
Damn😂
🤣😃🙂😶😮
wise man: I believe.. ae.
me: ITS AE U STUPID-

Definitely premiere pro
Prob after effects
This is dope! Love how you put this together, it's really interesting to see 👏
I used to use SVP,AE,C4D and Blender maybe 6 or more years ago took a break and now I’m using CapCut. the improvement mobile editing softwares has gotten over the years is crazy and is so convenient. it just makes things so much easier being able to shoot content on my phone or osmo pocket 2 and whack it into the app rather than have to transfer 4K 60fps footage to my PC or upload it to my cloud.
Even though its blurred I think the 5 things you can do is:
1. Tracking
2. Masking
3. Speed Ramping
4. Green Screen
5. Lock On.
It was already shown in the video so well its normal to find out what the blurred ones are

As capcut editor I can say that there are 2 types of masking the type u use is simpler but u can see the results but the 2nd type will take something like 5minutes for new people (it takes me 1-2 minutes) I call it remove background it's pretty much Same as u did but it will look better than the after effect
aint now way u competing capcut with after effects, after effects is a program that movies use.
Really enjoyed this as a content creator learning to do more advanced VFX and editing. Would be informative to have some kind of wrap-up/conclusion at the end talking about your experience with both software, when to use CAPCUT and when to use AE.
Don’t forget that this video was edited on After Effect 😘

4:42 You didn’t drag it to the end
1:27
Capcut have overlaying, with some practice the result will be smoother, including u can cut footage and use eraser function and other
For the masking section another way you can do it is by cutting out the person or object and select overlay to make it an overlay - go into another project to add your text and add a green screen or photo behind, download this project bring it back into your main project and add it in as an overlay and select cutout and chrome key and make it so it’s a clear background and mess around with the layers and add an animation on it - you can add an animation before uploading the text project and omg I relays this sounds rly confusing 😅😅
I really appreciate your hard work towards this video ❤️💐
0:29 that's not tracking. the effect is called 3d camera.
Don't let him find you 😂
2:10 never heard of rotobrush?
6:07 the editing tool I use wins

As someone who has been editing many years, I have tried most of the top end professional editing software. I use capcut for smaller simpler projects but use Dvainci Resolve for my more advanced projects. I can confidentiality say capcut meets my needs for 90% of what I do. The key is to use it in combination with a higher end program.
I know this won't be related to masking, but for capcut, you can also place the text behind an object
- Duplicate the video.
- Make it an overlay, then adjust it to be under your main-track clip.
- Go to remove bg, then select the object that you want the clip to be behind. (Colour in the object.)
- Add the text as an overlay.

4:38 you can remove green line you just need pro version
No you don't you just go to adjust-hsl-green make saturation 0 lightness 0 you dumba*s
6:04 Note to self: USE! CAPCUT!
Davinci resolve join the chat😂
2:37 you can fix this (for capcut)
So you will add an overlay of the person walking, then click cutout, and Remove Backround, if not, do a custom cutout. it works so well.
2:29 to make this even more like after effect you can just copy those video to 2 then use use remove background (remove the background on 2nd videos) it should be very similar and more easier.
You do realize you can use capcut on your Mac or PC right, with even better outcome
Definitly after effects is not for tik tok dancing video
Womp womp CapCuts better
@@Alexedits-sk4mtEvery editing software is good, no need to judge

2:29 remove the background and then add it to the og vid but you have got to do it perfectly that aligns with the body and then when you try the same steps, capcut's looks the same
Very good straight forward video. This is what I needed to know.
I am amazed of how well you edit your videos, and how good you are at yo-yoing! Also, you taught me something new! Keep up the good work man!
2:30 can’t you trace the object, in this case you, and make it into another layer of video, and then putting the text in the middle layer of those two (the normal video and the cutout one) I don’t know if I explained myself
4:33 just right next to the button where u remove the green screen its written shadows
and if u also do that it will remove the green parts
2:25 you can just add and overlay to make it behind you for the 1st layer after you remove the background. it would work better than.
Best video for internet good luck brother 😊😊😊
Thank you Nicolas. Which/How is the easiest way to move your Sony camera clips to your iPhone in order to edit them with CapCut?
Why do you need to mask out every single frame when masking? There's a "track to end of clip" feature in Davinci Resolve where the programm sticks the mask to the object and tracks the movement itself - Is that not available in After Effects?
as a capcut desktop editor, you can use the customized cutout tool + mask keyframes for the masking. works like a charm!
I just learned SO MUCH about editing in this vid, this is awesome
Using the Rotoscoping brush would be faster and more accurate than manually masking like you did in AE.
Still insightful video, I'm curious of capcut editing only for editing to short-form popular music.
2:35 Brother try it one more time just adjust masking line to the centre of your body and just add overlay of same video with cutout of body
And it will become the same video as after effect 🤟😇
You are really a great editor thanks for the video😇
everyone else talking about the edit, but wow, your yo-yo skills...
Ive discovered a passion for editing videos in the past few weeks using capcut. I have no background in anything like video editing and tried a few years ago using da vinci resolve but just couldnt get my head around anything. Since using capcut ive found it way simpler to make decent looking videos but Id like to know if using it restricts the quality of videos one can make and also when will i know when i should switch to a more advanced software?
For the masking. It’s easier using overlay+background removal of yourself after masking the text.
capcut is the most underrated mobile editing software. it has every feature you’d need for a basic-intermediate video
