I’ve had this pedal for over a year and forgot all the cool things it does. It’s nice to go back every once in a while and re-learn what a pedal does. I take screen shots of the settings and then go try them out.
Never thought I would actually purchase a Rever pedal, but this thing is amazing. It will literally change the way you approach playing guitar. Of all my fx pedals, this is my favorite.
I use this on my Micro terror and it gives it tons of versatility that just wasn't available before. Anyone looking for a budget awesome starter rig for ambience should consider a Micro terror dark with the fx loop, a 12 inch celestion vintage speaker, a carbon copy, MXR reverb. It's a stunningly versatile little setup. If you look for good deals this can be had for around 450, add a nice mid priced guitar, and for under a grand you can make awesome sound.
Well worth the wait. MXR really knocked it out of the park with this one. You can spend hours playing/creating just on the Pad and Epic settings. I was guilty of this before checking out the plate and spring modes, which also sound great. Also blends super well with other effects pedals.
Sold me. Just ordered one to replace my Walrus Slo. The Slo is an okay reverb pedal but I barely use all the extra features. I just want a solid sounding reverb and I love MXR stuff so I'm excited for this.
@Neon Thunderbird yep the Slo is cool just not for what I need it for. How do you like the MXR? I love the Mod, plate and spring settings. Epic is cool too.
I had the m300 and foolishly thought I could do better. Sold it and got a Strymon Flint which was good but I missed the MXR. Then the Flint got annoying and just added it’s own sound to my rig that I didn’t like so off it went. I then added a Keeley Caverns v2 which I used for a few short months before selling that and buying another brand new MXR M300 Reverb and I’m happy again. It’s not going anywhere this time. Internally upping the voltage to 20v with (CHT) constant headroom technology makes all the difference. The M300 plays nice with every other pedal I’ve used. It’s actually my favorite pedal. ✌🏻
@@brianrollins7275 The Flint is so unbelievably overrated. People forget it's kinda old and does that digitalizer thing that makes your tone sound so generic and cheesy. For its time it was ok, but yeah pedals like the MXR are just so much better and natural sounding
I love that you go into Down In the Park at the end. That effect is perfect for it. Sort of an alien encounter. I'm going to have to try that on mine! Life-long Numan fan!
Wow. I just watched you demo a bunch of reverb pedals, and I think that this is the one I am looking for -- it has just the right mix of great sounding regular old geezer type reverbs and shimmery freakzoidal neumatic reverbs. MXR has made great stuff for such a long time. Right now, my pedal board has five MXR pedals on it -- Custom Comp, la machine, Phase 90 plus a Flanger and Carbon Copy in the loop. I think I am going to have to make room for a sixth.
FWIW, the MXR has a Sharc Processor like the strymons. It's not a coincidence if it sounds similar. Most reverbs these days are just another belton brick or Spin FV-1. Not in this case.
Got mine yesterday - this thing is awesome! I searched for a alternative to my '63 Reverb Tank (90s Reissue) for the pedalboard - and I found it. It can do so much more. Now I'm waiting for the Echoplex Delay!!
That's precisely what I wanted to hear in this demo and I didn't (not particularly at all), since most digital reverbs do a great job at hall/pads/room/shimmer etc., but a rather poor job at spring...
Does the pedal retain the expression pedal settings after the power is off? Also, can the expression be set so that the heel is, say, spring and the toe down is plate? In other words, can it switch modes with the expression pedal?
Huh, I really like MXR, I only own them and EQD and a helix hooked to a Bugera v22 infinim. I LOVE it! Recommend me brands for good ambient pedals if you know of any cool ones!
Is it normal that when I have this pedal on, when I turn the other pedals on or off I hear the click sound way louder than when I have de mxr m300 off??
TheJofrica yeah it does.. I just got the pedal and I personally don't like the octave down effect so I only use the octave up. This pedal is amazing though and it is definitely one of the best reverbs out there
Wow. I particularly Loved the Guitar Playing, in The Epic Mode. Andy is so Versatile and Such a Tasty Player. I Really Enjoy listening to you play guitar, and demonstrate these Pedals & Effects. Few . . . ( if any? ) - Do It Better.
I have that pedal. I haven't tried a lot of muff pedals to compare but it's one of my favorite pedals. It does the smashing pumpkins/Weezer thing, black keys, and classic rock tones. I bought it for $40 and returned my $165 earthquaker devices hoof fuzz.
Seems he's trying to sell the expression pedal. What if you don't want to use an expression pedal? What do you lose? And what does the "Push to Cycle" function give you?
Great quality clip... cheers. Does this do Freeze/Hold??? After 20+ years I've decided hold, freeze, and reverb are the 'Delay' I've been searching for all this time. Long time owner, user, and huge fan of the ZCat Hold Reverb... a piece of genius... interestingly, outside of EHX, no other companies have tried to rip off the freeze/hold until this product... even the big players don't get the freeze right (hello B@ss TE2 and ME25)... Freeze/hold effect must be a monster of an effect to design. I would pay money (pay real dollars) for a freeze effect as good as ZCat or EHX that can run off a 9v battery.
I have both the HOF and HOF Mini (never buy the Mini!). I've had problems with the TC Electronics reliability here and there, even though I love the sounds. If I had to choose, I would take this over the TC Electronics. Simple knob turning beats presets and other stuff that can go wrong.
When it comes to reverbs, I think the newer the better. They are always improving on old pedals and introducing new sounds with the reverbs. HOF is seriously outdated by this time in my opinion. There are great shootout videos of these pedals. Check out Ryan Lutton's channel, he does a shootout that includes this, the HOF, Strymon, and other ones
Cue Zephyr, unless you are in a studio or playing ambient guitar, you probably don't need to waste your money on a Strymon. There is a lot of hype surrounding them and it drives up the price for something you are not going to hear when you play with a band and it gets all washed in.
I would use it at home for writing or in the studio only, not in a band. A used BlueSky is usually cheaper than the Neunaber or MXR too, since they're newer.
That's not true, there's no hype around Strymon pedals they are the real deal and can get you ANY reverb or delay sounds you would ever need and the sound quality the stereo image the depth and fatness if their tone is superb and inspires you to p,at in a different way and everything just sounds as it should be EPIC.
I’ve had this pedal for over a year and forgot all the cool things it does. It’s nice to go back every once in a while and re-learn what a pedal does. I take screen shots of the settings and then go try them out.
Andy never has to worry about dropping a pick. He is great.
I never thought I would ever actually buy a reverb--but this one is worth every penny.

Like seeing the products but only really come back to see Andy play. What a legend
I love INXS, this is a kick ass pedal demo, the best I've seen by this guy.
INXS... that was unexpected!!! nice!
I just got this and the Room reverb setting doesn't get enough love. It's exactly what I need for some of the harder stuff I play.
the Gary Numan tune really tells a lot a bout your skills and good taste. keep it up with the great work
That intro number was the jam.
This gets a thumbs up simply for the surf-blissed INXS jam!
Such a great player sir, always a pleasure to hear what you're up to. 👍

I'm digging the sound of this reverb pedal. Thanks for posting.
Sooo good for "Down in the Park" by Gary Numan.
Love the awesome Gary Numan rendition towards the end.
Avery natural sounding verb, they got it right!
Anyone else feel like the intro playing sounds like it could be in The Sims games? :D
Love this
Yep, I gotta buy one now.
Sounds just as good as my Blue Sky.
FWIW, the MXR has a Sharc Processor like the strymons. It's not a coincidence if it sounds similar. Most reverbs these days are just another belton brick or Spin FV-1. Not in this case.
VERY nice version of ‘Down In The Park’
I bought one of these and it sounds awesome. I use it on my 73' leslie 760
WOW! Mike Adriano is awesome at playing guitar too.
I thought I was the only one who noticed the resemblance hahaha
Just bought this looking forward to using it.
Love that pad mode!! WANT!
Sounds beautiful

He used it in the beginning.
fullmetalfunk "not particularly at all"
bloodySunday77 Ah, ok. I misunderstood that part then.
Does the spring have good drip?
Great review PGS Andy
great pedal and nice playing!!
Game. Changer.
kinda like Andy
I hardly think so with about five hundred thousand reverb pedals on the market and a constant introduction of even more.
I bought one to use on bass. Very useful for ambient low end.
What a great idea
it's true, you need that Keith-esque neck movement when doing that riff
Sweet version of “Down In The Park”!
Does the pedal retain the expression pedal settings after the power is off? Also, can the expression be set so that the heel is, say, spring and the toe down is plate? In other words, can it switch modes with the expression pedal?
Sold!
Awesome old school inxs
muy buena demostracion amigo...
Pretty good for mxr. And the price seems right.
Huh, I really like MXR, I only own them and EQD and a helix hooked to a Bugera v22 infinim. I LOVE it! Recommend me brands for good ambient pedals if you know of any cool ones!
Danich Ivanov good ambient experimental pedal is a moody sounds moody mushroom 🍄
3:56 song??
What’s the name of the song after he plays Start Me Up?
3:16 nice riff, do we know the band..?
Is it normal that when I have this pedal on, when I turn the other pedals on or off I hear the click sound way louder than when I have de mxr m300 off??
Check your power supply and your wall socket for ground issues. Get a Furman power conditioner and you will be ok
In your opinion, how does the M300 compare to the Oceans 11?
Tim Farris will love u !
Can you use a Roland EV5 instead of the DVP4? It is an amazing reverb pedal!
Hi pgs, what exp pedal did you use?
What's the difference between octaves and shimmer? I thought shimmer was octaves?
In the shimmer setting of the pedal you can go up or down one octave.. the shimmer effect comes from the octave up sound
CZni1776 Oh ok, I see thanks. Well then, that makes this pedal a bit more versatile than other shimmer reverb pedals!
TheJofrica yeah it does.. I just got the pedal and I personally don't like the octave down effect so I only use the octave up. This pedal is amazing though and it is definitely one of the best reverbs out there
CZni1776 Cool thanks for the info. Yeah I can see that regarding lower octaves. I appreciate the feedback!
I'd like to see a review of the Il Torino overdrive/boost :)
What guitar amp is Andy using on here? Anyone know?
fender deluxe rri
What the heck is a rednef? I know its a partscaster of some sort, but I cant find any info. I see Andy using them all the time...
Redtail guitars, which are built by my father!
-Andy
Explains your mild interest in all this gear! Cheers!
Wow. I particularly Loved the Guitar Playing, in The Epic Mode. Andy is so Versatile and Such a Tasty Player. I Really Enjoy listening to you play guitar, and demonstrate these Pedals & Effects. Few . . . ( if any? ) - Do It Better.
Thank you Michael!
Can a different expression pedal be used?
Runs on 20v.? Not 9v. Might not have room on my power brick fir it since my TC Nova occupies the outfit.
I think the 20 is done internally
Andy make a demo of A+ ShiftLine Astronaut multi reverb space unit please!
is there any reverb pedal that does only this epic mode?
No, usually a reverb with that much processing power to make a long “epic” mode will have other modes included (Big Sky, Ventris, etc).
1:20 my computer mouse hand when I scroll down a very long website page.
"The One Thing", INXS
What kind of pickups are in that redtail tele?
Looks like Fralin Blues Specials to me... at least in the neck pickup.
I'd give my right arm.....for that right hand:-)
There would just be a hand coming out of your shoulder, and it would be shredding
Then Andy would have a third arm with no hand, or an arm with a hand that’s twice as long
top top da galáxia
Could you do a demo of the Moen Fuzz Moo?
I have that pedal. I haven't tried a lot of muff pedals to compare but it's one of my favorite pedals. It does the smashing pumpkins/Weezer thing, black keys, and classic rock tones. I bought it for $40 and returned my $165 earthquaker devices hoof fuzz.
+rocksoff731 Yea, I use it all the time. Such a great pedal for so little money!
Seems he's trying to sell the expression pedal. What if you don't want to use an expression pedal? What do you lose?
And what does the "Push to Cycle" function give you?
first song name? sounds amazing , good playing.
The One Thing by INXS
I actually think this sounds great. I'm surprised. I need it for my analog synths.
TC Hall of Fame. :)
What's the telecaster blonde brand?
Redtail
Unconctrollable Shilling I agree with you! Redtailguitars.com
very nice great
The One Surf Thing
Which tele is it?
That's a custom Redtail guitar built by my father, Greg Martin. Thanks,
Andy
@@ProGuitarShopDemos Strat pickup in neck position...?
so getting that
I pray at the Andy alter at least once a week.
Hi, is this really made in USA? I read it was made in Taiwan...
Does it matter? It's an epic pedal. I have been diving headfirst into so many new styles due to this thing!
Down In The Park!
RIP PGS (2006 - 2017).

hall of fame broke.tc wont fix. mxr will.they fix 3 over the years
Andy could sell sand to the Arabs!
Why must this pedal be so expensive 😩
Just remember. You get what you pay for
Just remember, You pay what marketing dreams the market will bear.
***** very true
+Dawson Hooker agreed. But it's a stellar pedal. I can get huge ambiance with my Carbon Copy + Reverb. It's epic.
***** oh i know they are . i got one when i watched the video. worth 200 anyday
I always like to pretend its Paul Rudd
This or Hall of Fame????
I'd easily get this over the Hall of Fame. Until then, I'm looking for a used BlueSky. :)
i have hom its avg. ill send it to you for a great price I used it once too much for me

sucks no reverse
Can't please everyone ;D
I've got the Digitech Polara for the reverse. Other than that this is far beter then the Polara or the Boss RV6.
Put a reverse delay after it.
