hammondsphoto My favorite thing about so many pedal demos is how most demoers are fucking ASSHOLES and play the most unpractical shit ever. Like they'll get a fuzz pedal literally called "shoegaze fuzz" or some shit and play like a classic rock riff on it like fucking stoooooopppppppppp.
Yeah like playing power chords on a octave fuzz or playing bluesy lead lines on a modulated delay or phaser! Not enough people play arpeggios and sparse chords with modulation and ambient fx.
I've bought three different pedals thanks to Andy's reviews hahaha!! Just ordered the T2 Reverb thanks to his review of it! He's such a creative guy on his guitar playing!
I saw that this pedal is discontinued and is really rare now. If you have this pedal, do not sell if you own it; I own one and it’s seriously the best reverb pedal I’ve ever heard. Videos don’t do it justice. The halo effect is absolutely orgasmic and fills your entire room with sound.
I can't stop playing this pedal. I can get some really Cocteau Twins sounding stuff on the halo setting. If this was made by some boutique company it would sell for triple. It's that good of a pedal.
I’ve had this pedal since April 2020. And it’s a fantastic reverb pedal. Best spring reverb I’ve heard in a pedal. And the Halo setting is really nice for ambient delay. It’s not crazy over the top and the upper octave sound fits in really nice with the guitar’s dry signal.
Whenever I buy new gear, I just watch nothing but reviews of that for a good while, helps me avoid buyer's remorse. Lol. Also helps me to learn new stuff about the product. But it is tempting every time you watch a new vid...Hahaha!
TheJofrica the polara is one of the few pedals I had absolutely no incling of buyers remorse, I usally have it since $150-250 is a lot to spend on one seemingly small thing, but the polara has so many features on it other than regular reverb, it justifies the cost.
@@ax_el_alvarez have them both, Polara is great, but nothing gets as deep as T2 neither Bigsky, BTW the quality of T2 is so parable to BigSky and Neunaber Immerse MK1 great pedals.
Lexicon still Rules ( as-far-as ) Reverb's go. Many people use ( and overuse ) the Word " Lush " - but Lexicon Truly makes Lush, Spacious Reverbs. Best ever.
atmospheric sounds. And the player is amazing. I tried for fun to get this shimmer thing with a hall of fame and a EHX pitchfork. It worked !with fine tuning. Not as beautiful as the polara, but very similar.
Movie sound track like wothout all the synths and so on. You must have a lot of fun Andy! Great work on putting out consistently awesome videos presentations. The channel rocks \m/!
This sounds way better than my Free the Tone Ambi space. I just wish it looks as cool, but the decays of the polara are super clean. The plate is one of the best I have heard, even better than my Strymon Big Sky.
I tried this one out just to try something new and found I dig my Boss RV-3 much more. The spring and hall setting were my favorite on it though. I have a Twin Reverb and it was easily similar to the spring reverb on my amp.
I have this pedal. Already 2 years using it . I only turn it off when I play hard rock. 2nd hand but in great conditions. Beautiful buit, nice design. I paid less than 80€ for it. In case someone offered me 300€ for it I swear to god I don't sell it. The modulation setting is awesome.
Good thing Andy has only reviewed 99% of all pedals I've searched, otherwise I'd have had to purchase all 100% of them smfh. My next two are going to be this one and Obscura. Electro-Harmonix, EQD, and DBA are great, but those are for rich people in quantities larger than 1. My brother who raised me on 90's grunge from age 5, would have kicked my ass if he were still here today, knowing I spent 200 (even after 90 off) on a b-stock DBA Apocalypse pedal. His final project was building a pedal from a kit that he never finished. He was great with his money, and was the most successful of us three amigos. DigiTech is a great, cost-effective alternative to building your own pedals, however.
Thanks, Tom. The Supernatural is one of my favorite reverb pedals, but I really like the sound of the halo effect. I'd ask you to elaborate on how the spring settings might be different, but I think instead I will just go try one out!
The Polara seems to have a bit more organic, lusher sound (at least to me). Update: I have since kept my HOF, and got a Digitech Obscura Altered delay. Combined, they make a very nice, deep and dreamy combo. Running them in stereo is a major plus for me.
I like the sound that can be done with this pedal, and I believe digitech is coming up with some really good quality products. At $185.00 this could work in the near future.
Do you remember when people used to say digital petals were horrendous? And those same people will now pay $500 for Strymon reverb or delay. This and the Obscura sound just as good.
At the beginning when he was demoing the Halo effect I thought "all that needs is someone singing "shimmyshimmyshimmy bicycle tube" and you've got Cocteau Twins* *Disclaimer, I love Cocteau Twins and fortunate enough to see them live.
That opening setting sounds just like my/the Digitech Hardwire Supernatural pedal, which I believe PGS had a hand in sound designing. Wonder how the two pedals stack up side by side for their similar settings?
It sounds like a nice reverb, not much of an upgrade of my hardwire rv-7. They switched the gated reverb (percussive tones) for the halo setting since nowadays the octave reverb is quite popular. But lexicon reverbs rock and are def high quality and worth your money. This will be an addition to many pedal boards. For me it isnt very usefull since i already have 6 of these modes. Still saving for a strymon flint to get their nice reverb tones and as a bonus a trem after reverb cuz now my reverb is at the end of my chain and trem in the middle. So i'll get trem, reverb, trem, reverb to male all possible routing with these 2 great effects
Oh and, if u dont need the halo setting. Check out the rv-7 from hardwire it will prob be $85 cheaper and besides that the trails switch is internal its 99% comparable
ProGuitarShopDemos Hey andy! Between the polara, TC's trinity T2 and Mr Black's supermoon chrome, which one would you say is better? i want a new reverb and i'm between those three, but they all sound amazing to me! so i don't know which one to get, what would you recommend me?
I thought Id' check out vids on this pedal to see if it's better than the reverbs on my Kemper profiler. But I'm struggling to see any difference to any other digital reverb.
When this pedal first came out, I instantly hated the artwork - I think the guys at Digitech went overboard with the "love it or hate it" theme. And that is weird if you think that all big, mainstream music tech companies want to play it safe with the looks of their products, in order to attract more customers. Its excellent sound quality (especially in the surprisingly good spring) puts the whole "just play it - you don't have to look at it" theory to the test.
The only bad thing I can say about this pedal is they dropped the ball on the first version making the setting labels really hard to read. You really need a flashlight to see. But I usually keep it on one or two settings so not a huge deal.
I like this guy's playing. I have been trying to play without a pick for a while, I think you can have more tonal variations, just sees to make the guitar sound better and in a way more enjoyable to play. However it is really hard to do it right.
I have a Hall of Fame. Has anyone out there switched their HOF for this Polara? If you have do you regret it or would you do it again? I've been eyeing selling my HOF to get this instead. I like the fact it has reverse reverb on it.
Really dig this guy as a demoer. A break from the usual boring blues and/or shred and he really works with the effect.
Yeah man! Andy from ProGuitarShop is like the David Attenborough of guitar demos
hammondsphoto My favorite thing about so many pedal demos is how most demoers are fucking ASSHOLES and play the most unpractical shit ever. Like they'll get a fuzz pedal literally called "shoegaze fuzz" or some shit and play like a classic rock riff on it like fucking stoooooopppppppppp.

No Argument here. Andy is ( arguably ) " One Of " ( if not ) The Best Product Demo Player on You Tube.
Im gonna buy this because of the artwork and I'm not even mad
+TheJofrica I like it I'm gonna make a custom shirt with that design
Richard Giron Nice!
loooooool xD
Did the same with the Obscura altered delay hahaha
so true, now i want the delay pedal as well... god dammit why am I like this

Damn, this guy is exceptional at demoing pedals
I can't stop playing this pedal. I can get some really Cocteau Twins sounding stuff on the halo setting. If this was made by some boutique company it would sell for triple. It's that good of a pedal.
Cocteau Twins? Great minds think alike. That's why I got it! Been using it for a year now!
You are easily the best gear demo-er on UA-cam. Thank you.
5 years later I bought the pedal and learned the chord progression. Thanks Andy :)
I’ve had this pedal since April 2020. And it’s a fantastic reverb pedal. Best spring reverb I’ve heard in a pedal. And the Halo setting is really nice for ambient delay. It’s not crazy over the top and the upper octave sound fits in really nice with the guitar’s dry signal.
hey, could you tell what adapter you used for Polara? thanks in advancr

LOL my thoughts exactly
yeah but walrus pedals are fabulouser

I agree. I do Tons of Research on Pedals & Effects. Make Informed & Intelligent Choices.
The three of you literally described everything I am going through as well

That is incredibly gorgeous.
R.I.P. TC Hall of Fame.
Different purposes, it would be nice a T2 Reverb vs Polara...
Felix Blacksher Ryan Litton made a comparassion of them in his channel. Hall of Fame nails it all the way. All the way.
Nope... HOF's Spring not as good.
@@ax_el_alvarez have them both, Polara is great, but nothing gets as deep as T2 neither Bigsky, BTW the quality of T2 is so parable to BigSky and Neunaber Immerse MK1 great pedals.
I've never instantly wanted a pedal so bad after hearing it
This one will be going on my pedal board. I was going to get the HOF but I have changed my mind.
My current reverb is a boss RV3. This Digitech is on the way from Amazon. The boss has been very good this thing sounds amazing
Did the guy who demoed this pedal lend his voice to RockSmith 2014? I swear he sounds just like the guy on it!

Nicely done- this video shows what this pedal is capable of, plus a free guitar lesson. Andy is a class act...
Love this pedal. Been using for 6 months now as my ambient reverb. Halo is not too over the top and sounds really nice.

Sounds wonderful, Andy. Beautiful job with the Polara.

First time I ever heard Phrygian dominant mode in pedal mode. Awesome
What's the diference between Digitech Supernatural and Digitech Polara?
As usual, beautiful demonstration
great one! it even has the ''dripping'' sound to it
Even the RP150 has the drip. Altough I don't know if both pedals' reverb modes sound the same, given they both have Lexicon reverbs inside.
