Yeah, these are definitely lots of product placements (and I've gotta say with how problematic Better Help is, I'm a little disappointed he accepted a sponsorship by them, but that's none of my business), but I tend to structure my life and business a lot too. But that's because I'm a single mom running a business (that's both service-based and digital product-based with different audiences), so I've got a LOT to manage while also trying to stay ahead with growth. Plus, I have ADHD, so if I don't manage my schedule and tasks, it'll dissolve into feral chaos where I try to burn down my entire business for the vibes. (Been there, done that. 😹) I'm also a big believer in simplicity, so I don't use nearly as many things as Ali does. (And I'm not sure if all of what he's saying could be classified as productivity tools, in my opinion. Thank you Ali. Enjoyed your book. Very shotgun style in this video. I think one thing I would advise people given the heavy influx of approach, method, process, tracking here - please don’t forget the most effective tools of all time are 1) be intentional with how you define your life (my favourite thing ever is Jordan Peterson’s future life authoring program to get a vision, Ali has some good ones in his book too) and 2) just plan and track your time. Everything else is secondary to these two. Like maybe you just most of the time go to the gym when it’s in your calendar, instead of data entry into 4 apps and then writing about it in 3 later. Know what I mean? And if you don’t go, again Ali’s book has great tip about not beating yourself up. Cheers.
It's amazing how your day is super organized. I'm really disappointed that most of the apps you suggested are not free. I would really love a video for free alternatives
Love your content. One request: kindly consider reviewing your betterhelp sponsorship ( in the light of the controversy surrounding their questionable data sharing practice )
"What gets measured gets managed"... that might be one of the most guilt-free motivating quotes I've heard for the first time here on your video. Thanks!
THANK YOU! There are two things I really can't stand: (1) trying anything without a proper referral from someone whose used it and being disappointed by the results... I hate wasting time; and (2) I HATE being on email lists, but years ago I signed up for Tim Ferris's Five Bullet Fridays and loved the nature of hearing what was working for him in real time. This reminded me of that! Honestly I just watched my first Ali Abdaal video an hour ago when I typed in "best note taking app" on UA-cam and the title of this video grabbed my attention from the side feed. Now 4 videos in I can see I'll be back as you provide real value!!!! Thanks again!
We were honestly feeling down in the dumps today and this video got us so pumped! You are honestly a machine Ali. Don't know how you do it, but every time we watch one of your videos we get super charged up with new energy 🔥
Man, this is a lot. Something I need to do and I encourage others to do regularly is list out all the apps that you use and figure out where you can weed some things out. Most of us spend too much time on social media and electronics in general.
Thanks for this. I didn't know the treadmill/standing desk combination had such affordable options, but after watching this video I bought both from Walking Pad. My future heart health thanks you.
I have an idea (i'm sure not only me), I would like to feed all knowledge about myself to chat gpt. It would include information about what you like, what you don't, your preferences your goals long and short, access to the calendar, access to brawser history (to be able automatically understand or predict what you are doing or plan to do), include health trackers, etc. Once everything is collected, ask chat gpt to help with some tasks, remind about your goals or keep track on life balance or help with a schedule, plan vacation (for example, based previous visits and feedback). I think such personal assistant is going to be created soon.
Thank you for sharing your experience and saving our time, Ali. Basically, my takeaway is a simple solution is the best and it's ok to have a specific tool for a specific task, and not to try using one supertool for everything

Interesting and exhausting! Ao, I use my Gmail calendar for everything. I also have a piece of paper on my desk that says "what is the most important thing I need to do today?". This is great because your subconscious always knows. I use the Momentum Chrome extension where I can add my focus tasks if I want to however, I don't, I just use a piece of A4 paper split into 3 sections: today, this week, this month. I add tasks to each section as I think of them and then move them up the page. This stays on my YoYo adjustable desk. I use Notion for my own stuff and Drive with my VA and if I want some calm music I ask Alexa to either play the station Smooth Chill or "Classical For a Relaxing Bath" Naff name but relaxing music!
this reminds of a shopping list of an aspiring productivity freak. i am already overwhelmed syncing my watch to phone not to speak smart scale etc etc etc mentioned in the video. can't imagine how much time do you need to use all these gadgets instead of actually doing things.
Wow, I'm genuinely impressed by the level of organization and efficiency in your daily routine! It's clear that you've honed your productivity to a fine art. 😊With all these productivity apps and tech tools at your disposal, have you ever had a day where you decided to go completely tech-free and rely solely on good old-fashioned pen and paper? If so, how did it go? 📝
Your approach to productivity is truly impressive. Your seamless integration of apps and tools to optimize your workflow is inspiring. Your commitment to reducing friction in tasks is a valuable lesson for all. Great job! 🚀👏
It sounds like you have a well-structured and efficient morning routine that incorporates various productivity tools and habits to help you start your day on the right foot. Tracking your weight with Wi-Fi-enabled smart scales, using a physical pen and paper journal for morning Pages, managing your to-do list with Things 3, and changing your work location to boost productivity are all great strategies. Thanks Ali!
I must say, your level of organization and efficiency is truly admirable! Your mastery of productivity tools and techniques is evident in your daily routine. The idea of going tech-free for a day and relying solely on pen and paper is intriguing. It would be fascinating to hear about your experience with such a departure from digital tools. Did it bring about any unexpected benefits or challenges? It's always interesting to explore the balance between the convenience of technology and the simplicity of analog methods.
I've had my share of tech-free days too. Occasionally, I've intentionally gone "analog" with just pen and paper to change things up. It can be refreshing to disconnect from screens and distractions.
Yo Ali - great video. You mentioned so many apps but didn't touch on what you use Obsidian for. I see its big enough to be placed in your dock....you mentioned you throw things into Apple notes and then place it in either Notion, Ulysses or Google Docs. What are you using Obsidian for these days?
The audio is great! My roommate is a sound mixer though and he said that mic is better for outdoors and the MKH50 is better for indoors. If you ever want to buy another mic!
Hey Ali, I really your videos and thanks for knowledge sharing. BUT... The perfect system, is a system which can solve issues. I mean, when you have everything scheduled nothing prevents you to follow the schedule - it's kind of easy, but of course the trick here is to have a good schedule which includes fails. It is pretty hard to me to be on schedule when you have unplanned family obligations. Or when somebody got sick or something else. In my situation everything became broken, I feel exhausted and I can't follow life scripts any more. Please make a video when you describe problems and how do solve them. How are you dealing with bad mood (or are you always happy?) I think nobody can be perfect, so you also have problems and not solved issues. Even perfect software will have bugs sooner or later always. Thanks!
Relatable 100%! Did you find any related pro-tips? It's interruptions that are hurting my daily agenda the most. I miss focusing on one or two projects - instead I have like a dozen that need my attention every day...
@@pietruszqa-netguru I didn't solve my problems. I have only theoretical knowledge which I'm struggling to apply. - find a way to be happy with what you already have, find and create simple happy moments. - make a list of what you like to do, make it as required to do and it should be your first high priority responsibility because it is your body, your life. This list is going to be your resource list, things which increases your internal resources. - once you have more resources you can easily deal with day-to-day problems, ideally you don't even think it was a problem. The core issue is the low level of internal resources. The goal is it increases. But that requires changing your habits and paying attention to yourself first and then everything else. Hope that gives some ideas to move forward.
Wow. One of the less descripted process is how to open a brand starting from 0. Who to go to for production, obtain authorization to sell a product. I video about that would be super interesting if made by you

I would really love a video for free alternatives
notion, apple journal, calendar, reminders, toggl track all free alternatives
Love your content. One request: kindly consider reviewing your betterhelp sponsorship ( in the light of the controversy surrounding their questionable data sharing practice )
I scrolled the comments in the hopes that somebody mentioned this!
"What gets measured gets managed"... that might be one of the most guilt-free motivating quotes I've heard for the first time here on your video. Thanks!
such a good video, I love how you show how you use the tools throughout the day
This video singlehandedly earned you a subscription.
We were honestly feeling down in the dumps today and this video got us so pumped! You are honestly a machine Ali. Don't know how you do it, but every time we watch one of your videos we get super charged up with new energy 🔥
I'm gonna need to know more about how you're using Obsidian!
This is the best channel on productivity I've come across ever. Thanks so much Ali for this. I am really anticipating for another post 😊
When I search about productivity content you're on the top Ali 😂
the editing just keeps getting better!
Thanks, Ali Abdaal, this video was greatly helpful to me.
You seem happy and content. It's nice to see
Thank you for sharing your experience and saving our time, Ali. Basically, my takeaway is a simple solution is the best and it's ok to have a specific tool for a specific task, and not to try using one supertool for everything
I ordered your book, it will be my first one in english. I am so exited 😂

Hey Ali, would love to see how and which apps you use on Windows, we’ve been watching you using Mac since ages now. Most of us already own windows machine, so it will be great to see a video on that. Fingers Crossed 🤞
I subscribed to your channel at the beginning of this year as part of my Resolutions to better myself. I haven't been that much disciplined but now that I have taken the steps, I plan to watch a video a day... while taking notes! I hope to become a batter person; up my productivity, boost my esteem and improve my relations.

Save time by avoiding this video.
This video is a rambling of expensive app that can be done by cheaper app.
why
Ow
Thanks.
Useless crap.
My man you are an efficiency machine I envy how efficiently you can do a million things per day
Bro this video is fantastic! Thanks❤
pray pray prsy at 4:00 is the greatest way to start your day and be active. and you will be under the product of GOD.
You have an amazing voice... could listen for hours 👏
"How much productive you should be to match Ali's productivity"....my thesis paper for my masters.
Loved this.. hv beeen watching u since 200k man,, always a delight to see you grow, always boost's me up !! I would love video on the desk setup for this year ✨⚡
For me Littler Books is by far my favorite productivity tool. You can learn most of a book has to teach in like 5 minutes.
Nah, I learn programming so I think you need to work on the exercises to understand
I would looove to understand how you set up your notion! Especially for your quests (love that)! I struggle so much to understand notion and how to use it effectively, it seems so complex to me, even though i know it isnt!
I just switched to Motion and I love it!
When do you show us your obsidian setup? :D
1:00 Yo te banco, pero con esa taza de café en ayunas atrasaste 30 años, Rey! Agua + Movimiento + Luz solar, eso es lo que tu cuerpo merece al despertar ❤
It’s the comprehensive guide to deal with tasks and I like that. Nice one!
Love how easy this video was to follow w the simpler editing, even at 2x speed!
Have always been listening to Lofi when I study, but might have to check out some cheeky LOTR music now
Also, so you do have a Windows PC - doesn't that make you what you called other Window's owners - a "heathen" 🤔
Thank you!
This helped me understand that productivity tools are the exact opposite of where I wish to go.
I'll keep Obsidian and paper
There’s really no excuse for continuing to support BetterHelp
Now this is a really good insight video. ❤
Love this content so much. Thank you for sharing. 💙
I’m glad we’re seeing the value more of pen and paper
The quality of this video is amazing. Thanks for everything Ali.
Good stuff! I would love to see a video of how you decide what to work on every morning.
No one deserves the passive book income more than Ali Abdaal. :D Baught the book instantly!!
this reminds of a shopping list of an aspiring productivity freak. i am already overwhelmed syncing my watch to phone not to speak smart scale etc etc etc mentioned in the video. can't imagine how much time do you need to use all these gadgets instead of actually doing things.
I'm fan of Ali Abdaal since day 1! also his transition effects on his video is way more effective to get the attention of the viewers.
I've had my share of tech-free days too. Occasionally, I've intentionally gone "analog" with just pen and paper to change things up. It can be refreshing to disconnect from screens and distractions.
Obsidian in the thumbnail but no mention?
I use Amplenote for note taking and task management and Cron for my Calendar! 👍🏻
👏 Same here! Amplenote has been a game-changer for me too. Great combo with Cron! 🚀✨
Anyone else noticed how quick 4ra’s notifications are? Never missing a match update now ⏰
The audio is great!
@@pietruszqa-netguru I resonate deeply with this. Any hacks thus far?
Thank you Ali for this video. As a med student and youtuber this is really helpful.
Ali btw i suggest a surise clock if you really wanna get locked in & not always get woken up by your jarring phone
@Ali Why don't you talk about Obsidian the app that you have in the 4 more important apps that you have in your i Phone?
Every draw from 4ra is exciting because you really feel like you have a fair shot to win 🎲
I really liked that this video was all over the place, found out about some useful things I did not anticipate!
Oh I love productivity so much as well!
how do you store your walking treadmill? Also how do you avoid vertigo? These are the two things that prevent me from using my walking treadmill more
Wow. One of the less descripted process is how to open a brand starting from 0. Who to go to for production, obtain authorization to sell a product. I video about that would be super interesting if made by you
My mind was blown at "what gets measured, gets managed". Did you coin that? That is genius! I'm SO happy I came across you. You are very easy to follow when you talk about the different tools/ideas. New fan here! Looks like I'll be binging your channel this weekend... Thank you for what you do!
Of course he didn't lol
@@aarohanyt7374 goodness. Not sure how to take your comment. Seemed a little rude, but anyway, I looked it up and saw who did. I just never heard it before and it just really spoke to me! Just trying to keep it positive here!
lol is far from rude lol@@reviveflourishandthrive
I procrastinate a lot and have tried various apps and journaling systems to stay on top of my tasks. Ultimately, the only method that has worked for me is writing bullet points of the things that need to be done and ensuring I look at them periodically.
this is a 20 minute long ad.
Its literally the point...
Ah dang. Thanks for the heads up!
Love my Withings Body Smart Scale & ScanWatch Hybrid Smartwatch! 10/10 would recommend
Really random question but would you ever consider doing a video on finasteride, dutasteride and other evidence-based hair loss treatments?
i second that 😌😌
Love your channel, keep up the good work!
Can't wait for the title "Productive Diaper Changing"
