At 14:06 are the longs used striped spruce or stripped oak? The description states spruce but it looks significantly darker when I’m placing them…yet striped oak seems to match? Thanks for clarifying!

I have been building this using the create mod using the Wand of symmetry, its made my life a hell of a lot easier, plus i can make the giant gates open and close which looks amazing

Decided to build this in survival, currently one week in and im only at 33:31 in this video lmao. The first 3 days were just gathering materials and i still dont have enough stuff. There is SO MUCH detail in this build its insane

Am building again but in a new world, and THIS TIME im countermeasuring things against other things to make *sure* the measurements are correct!! Meaning im now doing the arches before finishing all of the pillars, cuz lemme tell you, the arches were *really* not fun to improvise when your things dont line up properly XD

I got excited when I finished and then I realized I needed to build 3 more arches 😭
This build is amazing, love the progress so far my first major build about 20 hours in 😂 well worth it though 🙏🙏
Let’s go six I actually finished the foundation 2 days and have been building dragon statues out front cause I’m going to have a dragon skull neither portal themed base here in my kingdom! Another great video man✊🏾💯

@@eva-nf9fl You mean at the top of the arch? It shares the middle block with the half arch that meets it, so to speak. Post a timestamp if you're talking about something else. Then I can help you out. 🙂

Man these arches are killing me but I’m getting there, 2 sides down 2 more to go. This is a great build and I’m still having fun building it regardless of how tedious the arches are😅 I couldn’t imagine building this in survival
Its horrendous. Ive used 4 stacks of rockets and had to make 8 stacks of scaffolding. Havent made it to the arches yet but im not excited 😂
I'm building it on my PS4, 1 block at a time, on a survival word
Spend almost as much time harvesting straw and making mud/chopping down and stripping logs, as I do building. Just hit the 1 hour mark in this video, but I'm building everything at the same time while it's fresh in my head, so it's taking me forever to finish 1 part and start the next
i have a question when im building the mirrord version is it normal i have some parts i do not have to buil like the middle pillar on the major arch with the lamp because i already did it on the normal arch
Getting dark prismarine is hard in survival. Do you recommend any other block that would still look amazing for the roof?.
Oxidized copper variants and/or warped planks. I mixed in warped planks in this build actually.

1:29:27 Is this part missed? the stairs to the top is not the same as the other side? btw, it took me 23 days to finish everything in this part, and I realize the stairs part after I finished everything
is the space at the top of the arch supposed to be 6 across?? cus mine is only 5 and idk where I went wrong
1:14:34 and 1:40:49 pattern is different, which is the correct one? I think it's the latter but I'm not sure
Am I wrong in thinking that a lot of these walls don't need to made since they just get covered again by other blocks?
Some maybe, but most of them are visible through the Mud Brick Walls and Fences. But you could easily use a more accessible block than Mangrove Logs for example.

Thanks! All sorts of inspiration. A bit of Berlin Cathedral in this one and also some rococo, but in general rarely anything specific. I love all sorts of styles. You should check out my "Thinking Inside the Box" video, where I talk about inspiration and approach.

@@jakub-or2vk When testing I tend ro use WorldEdit, to come up with designs faster. I have begun using Litematica, but for my timelapse videos I usually do everything manually. This particular was mostly done through the hell of screenshots of reference models.

Did anyone's mirrored side exceed by one block? And in, should the mirrored side actually be one block shorter (horizontally)?
Others have been confused by this as well. The sections share one block where they meet.

I messed up the stone brick platform by one block, so it's all one block misaligned haha. I'm finding solutions to negate the damage, i'm improvising as i go

I did nearly the same thing but instead there’s just a 1 gap block between my pillars instead of 2 blocks… throws it off a little but i can deal with it

That happened to me too :( luckily my gf is a bigger Minecraft nerd than me and used a command to move everything by a block
I wish you had said the measurements more correctly, I'm almost finishing the second tutorial and I realize that the measurements were wrong for me. Simply put that they were 52 blocks long and the others were 12 but with one more column leaving 13 would have been better. Now I have to start returning for a simple mistake.
I also admire that you made a tutorial for such a difficult castle with so much patience.
I've noticed that some have problems getting the foundation right. The numbers I've posted are measurements for the white lines, not block count. That is what confuses some people. Just imagine taking a ruler and measuring the sides (highlighted with the white lines). The sides has to be an uneven number so there's one block in the center. That is why it has to be 51.
been chipping at this huge build and i regret to tell you that somehow....all 4 of my arches are off: 3 of them have a 5 middle instead of the 4 (the last one somehow has a 6 middle)...ill keep ya posted on the results, fingers crossed i can keep faking and tweaking my way to the finish line XD

@@nicotine444 i recently started it again in a new world, and the biggest thing is the measurements for the base are outside numbers, so check if all your sides have the proper numbers! (like if a side of the cross has 12 blocks, the 13th block is the one you will use to start the next section, and if one side has 12, and the next is 51, they share a corner unlike the inner cross corners) as much as its tedious, i triple checked mine and everything is impeccable now
How tall is this when done?
176 blocks, but the spire is deceptively tall so you can make it shorter if needed.
Hey SixWings, there aren't Dark Oak Logs in the Material List, that's only Spruce Logs.
The only dark oak things are: slabs, planks, stairs, fences, trapdoors and doors but no logs.
In addition, the color of the interior of the Dark Oak Logs does not match.
So I kept building it out of oak logs.
I will have to check but I don't think I used Dark Oak Logs at all. Don't you mean Spruce Logs?
Check the video in the minute 38:47 Major Arch, you wrote Dark Oak Logs.

i made the mistake to build all the upper spruce parts with oakwood. now i have to fix this 😢
Oakwood (logs) should be fairly similar in color to spruce, so maybe it's fine.

no, everything is updated and i tried everything i could think of to fix it. my bf thinks the build is just too big for the switch to render, i hadn’t had any problems before i tried working on it this morning tho so idk
They may have an explanation for it, but the mirror section is sus. It doesn’t add up to the final build. To connect and make it only have ONE thing of wood in the middle, you would need to do it differently than the mirrored section.
You simply build everything the same and then ignore the middle blocks that you built in the section before.

would you call this style Gothic?
It's a mix of styles really. There's a bit of baroque, rococo, gothic and beaux-arts in it. The spires are probably the most gothic about the build. You usually see pointed arches in gothic architecture. But yeah, the build is not so easy to pin down style wise.

Remember to be sure about the dimensions of the foundation. Some people find out way too late that they one block off.

I'm guessing you're not gonna like the dome part. But yeah, I hear you. I was thinking about including a diagram that counted the blocks, but I'm not sure if it would've been too confusing. You kind of have to count them while watching. But I get it. For each tutorial I try and see what works an what doesn't.
