🏠 House Exterior Painted in 1 Day! Graco: DIY 👍

  • This video is all about how to paint an entire house exterior in 1 single day using the Graco Paint Sprayer X7. I've used this sprayer for the interior of this house, as well as the exterior.
    For the Graco Paint Sprayer - Click HERE 👉 amzn.to/2EZGMsM
    For the Power Washer - Click HERE 👉 amzn.to/2MR3djO
    The steps are simple.
    1) Begin by power washing with a high powered washer. Using soap is optional (I didn't use it here) but would probably have better results in the end, but not much.
    2) Tape off the windows. We just taped off the glass and not the trim because if we get gray paint on the trim, that just adds a 2nd coat when we go back over it again with the white trim paint. This also makes taping quicker as you don't need to get it perfect, just cover the glass.
    3) After drying, hit the walls with the Graco Paint Sprayer and then admire the beauty.
    4) Last step is to remove the tape and go paint the trim if you want the trim to be a different color.

      @@davidu8688 Definitely isn't a "pro" job, but I mean if it's their property go for it. I own a painting business and i'd plan for four days, first being a power wash. Second scraping, caulking and priming wherever needed then masking. Third would be spraying the body and getting trim and fourth would be touchup and clean up as needed.

    • @davidu8688

      @@Xeil generally how it goes but that's definitely not what is shown here. Funny thing is many customers now days believe painting is easy and cheap until they do it themselves and they're completely lost. I've had interior and exterior where there were color inconsistency where paint was gone, they got more and 3 guys went around touching up everywhere on top of uncovering the new floor and getting paint specs all along side of it. The entire job had to be redone and I've seen the paint not match several times in the past where homeowners or contractor attempt to skimp on the paint and ended up costing them a whole lot more than just a little paint. Something that use to be pretty common especially buying paint at Lowes or somewhere like that because their machines aren't calibrated right.

    • @Xeil
      @Xeil 3 місяці тому

      @davidu8688 Most home owners don't have a clue and absolutely need to be educated on the process. If I get hints that they feel like they "know how to paint" but don't want to do it themselves I will always bid higher because they're gonna be really picky.
      Or the "I can get it cheaper " when it comes to ordering paint. Like, no you certainly can't when I have an account that has nearly a %50 discount on paints because I buy 10-20gal per job and can pass that on to the customer with a much higher quality paint.

      I see paint all over the slab at the end...I wouldn't get paid for this also no spackling, no caulk, etc. It won't last long until rott starts happening in those areas. I run my own LLC I get what you are saying, I’m actually one of the guys who does and my customers LOVE it but for a DIY, he did very well, anybody can paint, professional painting is a whole different ball game, he did the basics and did them well, so a to say a total fail wound the correct, a total fail would be he took gallons of paint and throw em on the house.

    • @davidu8688
      @davidu8688 5 місяців тому

      @@briansawyer3232 no dude, painting over a bad surface causes that much more work in the future to fix it properly and in some cases replacement of siding because it is so labor intensive to get it done correctly. There was paint all over the slab I could see clearly from just not using a shield or something to cover when spraying the bottom. No caulking at all or spackling. This job I wouldn't even get paid for and the fact you missed all that shows you obviously do not know what you're talking about in the slightest. These videos are what make customers think there is nothing to painting until their house begins to rott away from water damage getting in the cracks etc. The brushing and clean separation of lines will take another day or two as well. This job done properly by two guys would take about a week. I've been professionally painting for over ten years now in multimillion dollar homes and businesses and you don't know what you're talking about. (Immaculate Contruction and painting)

    You guys missed a few steps, for one the house needs a least a day if not two to dry out, second you should sand , scrap or remove any loose or peeling paint, 3 caulk butt joints and corners, 4 don’t spray the foundation , which means you probably sprayed the roof as well, I understand if you were only making 500 or 1000 buck to paint it, because the owner doesn’t want to pay what its worth to do it right, but explain away in the video so you don’t give people or homeowners the wrong idea on painting houses, as a professional painter I would fire you guys if this happened on my watch. You can get away with this on an aluminum house where u wash and paint in one day, but on wood you are just asking for problems.
