Hey watch you all the time great content! Have a question/ topic, have you ever used or heard of anyone use vinyl soffit for a basement ceiling? I have seen pvc boards, but can you use soffit in the basement? Thanks!
I love it because when you mess up with something you don't cut it. You show it. That's the best part to prevent us from doing it if we can avoid it. Great job!
I've been spray painting interior / exterior for 30+ years. Extension poles suck, don't use them. It builds up pressure in the extension pole and when you release the trigger, it spits. With extension poles, your wrist is no longer helping you to keep the Tip straight, witch means the Tip is only at the right distance and angle, less than 10 inches as you move left to right. You will struggle to apply a good pattern and overlapp. There's going to be high and low build on the paint and Stop / Start streaks, perhaps so bad you need to paint the whole house again. Graco fixes spitting with the CleanShot valve. It works great when you're spraying ceilings etc. But for work, like in this video. Use only the gun. Because it gives you much more control. And trust me, if you're not used to spraying, extension poles makes it 10 times harder. Its like holding a garden hose 3 feet down the hose AND turning the water pressure ON and OFF. Well of coerce, since the extension pole is metal, its not that bad. But every time you pull the trigger you will shoot a line of paint, that may run. WRIST CONTROL is crucial and more so for DIY. You need to FEEL and SEE to be able spray with precision. With the right pressure and Tip you can go around windows with a piece of carboard/metal shield and hardly need to mask anything. Most paint manufactures have Tip recommendations. For this paint its probably 515. You can go above that, like a 1221 but that = a bigger machine and a lots of experience to put it on evenly. For a DIY I'd recommend a small tip orifice. Maybe 412 - 510 - 512. Lower = more control. Yes will need to move your arm and body more, but trust me, even grandma will do a great job.
@@mozartamadeus1580 I only have Graco machines, supposed to be the best and I got several, one 390st is almost 30 years old I think. So Graco is a very good brand for sure. Titan is also well known and Wagner. One thing that sets Graco apart is the spray gun, hoses and tips. The good news is, you can use those on Titan and Wagner. For a house, like in the video. You have overlapping siding and a relative small surfaces, a wall, end to end. This means its very easy to spray and almost any machine will give u good result. The overlapping panel breaks up most, if not all errors in your pattern. But if it's a Big flat wall. Then you need a machine strong enough to use large tips = wide Fan. A small tip orifice with narrow spray fan will not be a good choice for that type of spraying. Its hard to get a good overlapping pattern. But there are tricks for weaker machines. I recommend buy a used quality machine, instead of a cheap new one. They are very easy to fix, DIY. There's several good UA-camrs that show how to DIY. If it holds pressure, no leak. Your good to go. It might look like it has been dipped in paint, but that's a good argument to ask for a better price. I'll give you a tip or two how you can clean it up with ease and make it look brand new. Post a link to whatever machine you consider, and I'll have a look. I also need to know what type of house you got.

I did paint a shed with double 5 vinyl siding, about 15 years ago and the paint 100% acrylic exterior that I bought at Sears, has held up remarkably good no chalking, in the sun just outside of Nashville Tn.
Thank you for all you have shown! I have remodeled my entire kitchen with your help. My entire bath with your help. And now my siding will be next! I have been looking at that sprayer for a while and been wanting to paint my vinyl siding. Thank you for giving us diy’ers so much help!
First time homeowner here as of this week and I just want to say my boyfriend and I love your videos! We watch all of them, even if they aren’t relevant to our current needs/wants 😅 you are AWESOME!
@Dustin Zilinsky I gave it a light pressure washing, but mainly to wet the surface down. The paint supplier said to do that before spraying the paint. I used a standard outdoor grade paint and applied to rock stucco. 10 years later and it's still good except for a little sun fading on the south side.
I painted my siding on my house this Spring with paintbrushes and paint I purchased at Lowe's home improvement and it looks fabulous and I spend almost nothing and it was very simple didn't even have to. Almost no prep work just grabbed some paint and a brush and a ladder music and got into the zone and got a suntan too.

We have a graco airless sprayer as well and i can tell you once you paint with it you will never want to go back to a brush or a roller. Not only will it look so much better its just way easier and faster. Yeah tapeing and covering everything sucks but once you get a process down its really not that bad. Oh and make sure you get the thinnest plastic you can. Dont make the mistake of buying 2 mill plastic sheeting as its way overkill and more expensive.
@Beverly Blanco absolutely, yes you can! You just have to cover the floor and anything you don't want painted. I would just do a search on UA-cam on how to use an airless sprayer on your interior. I'm pretty sure Jeff (renovision) has one. They sell plastic sheeting in the paint department of the big box stores. It's very thin and a lot less expensive than regular plastic sheeting. Now I will say this if all your painting is a small guest room you might want to paint it the traditional way as setting up the sprayer ,tapeing etc for such a small job isn't really were an airless sprayer shines. Large and multiple rooms are more appropriate for using a sprayer. In our renovation, after we were done with everything except paint, we taped off the walls and floors and sprayed the ceilings first. Then we did the trim and let it dry for a couple of days. Then we masked off the trim and painted the walls. I can tell you spraying the trim will give you an excellent finish. Having zero brush marks is awesome! Our home looks like a professional painted it now. There is a natural order that professionals use when building a home. If you follow those steps and use the same methods and tools ,you'll have a far more chance of having a project look like a pro did it as opposed to a DIYer did it.

Good to see the technique, I sprayed a used china cabinet but haven't sprayed a house. My question is: do you have a link for the scaffolding? I don't see it in the list in the description.
Which paint Fr SW are you using for that vinyl siding? You mentioned $40/gallon but SW says they have no idea which paint you are using. Thanks for the info.
vinyl has been painted for many years. for example there are still companies that paint the vinyl extrusion for their windows instead of making it with a dye. last forever.
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY Yeah but to make it last, doesn't that require specific preparation like creating a textured surface (through scuffing/sanding), and adhesion promoter prior to paint?
@IndependenceCityMotoring Perhaps you should be more specific with your question if you want a better answer? How old is thr vinyl you are trying to paint? You should definitely clean and degrease it first, like anytime you paint anything
Just a question off the subject of the video.... how do you get so motivated to do the work you do. You always seem so upbeat and enthusiastic. I wish I was like that about work...any tips? Cheers jeff
Bought this sprayer to paint my mobile home. I bought some extensions and a swivel to reach the upper part so i wouldn't have to climb up and down ladders , would you say this was a good idea

Do you have a video hidden somewhere about repainting old cedar shake siding? From what I see you don't have a video that quite matches up to what I need to do.
For interior if have that machine and a roller attachment, what is the best way to go about it? Is it better to spray prime, and first coat of pain spray and the last roller? Is it worth using the roller attachment at all?

13:38 you freaked me out with that blurry grey anomaly mid way up the left side of the screen! I thought one of the backlights burned out on my TV screen!
Amazing work as always. Thank you for the information and great content :)
I bought this sprayer a few months ago to paint furniture (just use a different spray tip), but with an eye to painting my house. Good to see the technique, I sprayed a used china cabinet but haven't sprayed a house. My question is: do you have a link for the scaffolding? I don't see it in the list in the description.
What are your thoughts on Benjamin Moore paint and Benjamin Moore stores in general?
This was your screen testing for the movie called "Grumpy old Men." 😅❤
16:45 Aaw, the promise of how to do the bottom wasn't kept! :( Thanks for the video in any case Jeff, brilliant work as usual.
Do you need to prime first before painting?
Which paint Fr SW are you using for that vinyl siding? You mentioned $40/gallon but SW says they have no idea which paint you are using. Thanks for the info.
You want 100% acrylic. They should have a color palette of paint that is made for vinyl and won't cause warping or other issues.
What time of year is the best to paint your home🤔
Did you use the paint straight out of the can or did you add water/other substance to it to thin it?
So it will long term stick to vinyl without scuffing it first and adhesion promoter?
Why would you scuff it? It is vinyl.
@@joseph7105 For mechanical adhesion. Vinyl/plastic is too slick for paint to strongly adhere.
vinyl has been painted for many years. for example there are still companies that paint the vinyl extrusion for their windows instead of making it with a dye. last forever.
Thank you🎉
What kind of paint you using? Thank you
Never strained the paint, saw you spray an uncovered window, need to add floetrol for those pumps and avoid runs
Great content
Just a question off the subject of the video.... how do you get so motivated to do the work you do. You always seem so upbeat and enthusiastic. I wish I was like that about work...any tips? Cheers jeff
He seemed more aggravated and grumpy than upbeat and enthusiastic 😂
Much better! 🎉
It looks good.
Bought this sprayer to paint my mobile home. I bought some extensions and a swivel to reach the upper part so i wouldn't have to climb up and down ladders , would you say this was a good idea
Very detailed and Insightful !! This Video shows exactly what I wanted to do to my house, but I was wondering if I can paint outside vinyl sidings in the area like Michigan where it gets very harsh climate in winter ?
Jeff what about expansion and contraction of vinyl? Won’t there be paint gaps when the vinyl contracts in cold months ?
There could be, but that's not important today 😂
It will you go back over it a couple times
I actually did this during february which is the cold month. Cheers!
17:40 uh oh i already know that’s a bad sound to hear! Lmao I learned many years ago when I first started out as a helper one sure fire way to piss off the guy painting when you’re supposed to be keeping his pump runnin is to let him suck air😂
I am gonna be waiting over stucco and some wood, do I need to use a primer before painting it? So can I just throw paint on it without the primer? Please help. Please
Wear thick leather gloves and long pants with a hedge trimmer. thousands of people a year end up with nasty injuries. I almost lost my left index finger after I tripped while using a hedge trimmer, luckily it still works after surgery.
ouch!
Come see me at City Furniture in The Villages Lake Sumter is about 30 minutes away if you need any furniture for the inside of the home, love the vids Jeff you’ve helped me a lot!

P.s. Seems like what ever could go wrong with the tape DID LOL
fighting a bad hamstring injury , the wind, and a machine with no cutting blade. makes for a frustrated project. Cheers!

Hey Jeff, I have been looking at the application of epoxy products for home improvement projects and was wondering if an epoxy paint has been developed for exterior house painting? I would think it would be a game changer? Thoughts?

Hi how are you how to put a small stove on a countertop thank you have a great day
Welcome to America!
Cheers
What kind of paint was used for the siding??
does this technique work for aluminum siding?
Will this spray paint all over my neighborhood?
😂 It does it all
Oil based for exterior right? Not Latex?
Do you have a video hidden somewhere about repainting old cedar shake siding? From what I see you don't have a video that quite matches up to what I need to do.
For interior if have that machine and a roller attachment, what is the best way to go about it? Is it better to spray prime, and first coat of pain spray and the last roller? Is it worth using the roller attachment at all?
I personally see the roller attachment as just another thing to clean. Cheers!
What type of paint is used for vinyl?since I have heard that some paint will make vinyl warp with the sun. Thanks,
