      It also depends on what you want to use the PC for, if I play retro games or just ones that are not demanding it's kinda pointless throwing in a 4080 and having civ4 trying to run at 500 FPS.
      Work out what you want a PC to do then see if you can get there. No point on buying something that is overkill for what you need.

    Hey there! I have a small question to make: I already have a Ryzen 5 5600x CPU with an RTX 2060 Super. It's on a old ASUS Prime A320 M-K motherboard with slow ram (16 gb at 2400mhz). Would changing the MOBO and the ram modules to the ones in this build help my PC gain some performance?

    did you know that you can use your phone to get wifi to your pc if you don't have a Ethernet port nearby or a cable long enough? you can do this by hooking up your phone to your new pc and turning on tethering in the network and internet settings and that's how you can internet to your pc. i know this because i had to do this when i built my pc.

    You actually simplified it and gave me a good starting point to start thinking about a build where I have an understanding of what all is needed. I've always been a console gamer, but I just bought a ROG Ally, which got me thinking about a desktop build..
    How would this build compare to the performance of the z1 ROG Ally?

    • @ScatterVolt
      @ScatterVolt  Місяць тому

      Any desktop PC will be faster than a ROG ally
      Handheld PCs need a battery. Desktop PCs don't.

    @scattervolt, do you think that for future proofing at 1440p that the 7600x3d or 7700x is better? I’m worried that games like cyberpunk or starfield will become more common in the future, and that the lower core count will matter more than the L3 cache. I’m more concerned with 1440p across the board than I am with really great frames temporarily (1-2 years)

    • @ScatterVolt
      @ScatterVolt  2 місяці тому +1

      If you're worried about futureproofing for 1440p, then worry about your GPU choice.
      Your CPU choice doesn't matter at 1440p. It would at 1080p where games are less GPU bound since they're graphically less demanding. That isn't the case at 1440p.

    Great video. Why is it that the 1080p standard is still the bar for perfornance? Why hasn't the bar been moved to 1440p as the standard for performance? If the hardware we have at the moment isn't good enough to allow 1440p as the performanced standard then why are we even trying to play any game at 4k?

    Can you majorly upgrade it in the future?

    • @ScatterVolt
      @ScatterVolt  28 днів тому

      That is a blanket statement that can be assumed for any “budget pc”. Since you’re using entry level components, you’ve got room to grow into higher end components if you’d like.
      The same can’t be said of you have a $2000 pc for example because you’ll already have best in class complements, which doesn’t leave much upgrade room.
