I would personally go with performance. I would say many if not most people who want a $600ish budget build are doing so because they lack money for higher end builds, so they try to maximize performance per dollar. And that's not to diss anyone who is going for aesthetics. There's nothing wrong with getting an aesthetic build if that's what you want. It's just that most who go for aesthetics usually do so because they have money to spare.
Regardless of performance, I actually like the blackout stealth look better than the white RGB. Getting more performance per dollar would just be bonus for me.
“It’s a performance build so we can go ugly” Dude, that looks SO GOOD! I don’t see where the ugly part is. True, I have a full black and orange setup (headset, keyboard and mouse RGB) but I only have a laptop, never had a PC. Yet if I’m going to spend the money on a PC I’d rather go with raw performance. It would be a first PC project I make myself and I want to know I’m getting the most out of my limited budget. Great video Zach!
Thanks Zach few weeks ago I was looking for a gaming setup for 600-700 dollars, this would really help me I am about to get my first pc in a few months I just wanted to thank you for this I have always enjoyed your videos

Right now i have your 400 $ PC pure performance with the 600$ setup in Europe and i absolutely love it. I would go with the aesthetic PC because now that i have it for a few months i realise the importance of aesthetic
0:29 you could always just meet in the middle, where you can make a performance focused build but highlight some budget aesthetic elements like some Thermalright fans or maybe even a GPU Sag Bracket lol
i love these videos and the style with aesthetics AND price to performance so i can mix and match parts with a little extra budget left :). keep it up.
I would go for the performance but i like the idea of showing both builds. I love your videos and due to your build guides i finished my first pc build successfully. greetings from germany
Hi Zach, I have a build with me, just bought the parts yesterday. I am used to installing on am4, never on am5. since this cpu is more than double the cost of the last one i used, i would like to know how to completely install it properly. Could everyone get this some likes so that Zach can see it? Thanks
If you're comfortable in buying used/BNIB parts then you can do the AM5 route fairly easily and not to mention that you don't have to pay that Uncle Sam via tax as the price listed in the video are before taxes. I got lucky on the build I’m doing right now. I got a free case, mobo and PSU, and already had storage. Sold a mobo, NAS, and office PC I also got for free and got a kit of 32gigs DDR4 and $90. Adding a 5600X ($150 w/ cooler) and a RX 6800 XT ($370). Total out of pocket cost around $430. Not too bad, especially once I sell my old 1650 I5 9th gen gaming laptop.
I use the black non-RGB version of that cooler on a 5500 and it's more than enough, as is the chip with the 2060S it's paired with. I knows me place, it's 1080P, I'm fine with that.
I think you've nicely demonstrated why its not worth going for aesthetics if you're on a tight budget, the extra spent to make the PC look better subjectively made it perform worse objectively, that's not a trade I'd recommend people make. Maybe it makes sense at higher budgets but for me it seems completely pointless spending 20 dollars on cable extensions when you could have bought better parts instead.
Performance is what matters to me. I don’t mind some RGB and other things, but at the end of the day, I’m looking at my monitor, not the pretty lights and fancy case.
I have been saving money for so long and I think I am going to start building my first pc I personally would go with performance but the other pc still looks insane
There are some great Matrexx cases. I use the Matrexx 55 Mesh and it’s been an awesome case. Looks good, great cooling, tons of mounting options for AIOs/fans and very easy to work on. I’ve heard the RGB can be a pain in this case, but I don’t use RBG so it’s not an issue for me. You can pick one up for around $80 new if you shop around. Comes with one RGB rear fan and two 120 non-RGB fans in the front. ✌️
I would take performance. Not only do I prefer the additional performance, but also the build doesn't hurt me when I look at it (I'm not throwing shit, I have photophobia; it can literally be painful to look at it).
I would rather go with pure performance one but get a nice Cabinet so that i can upgrade based on aesthetics by adding coolers and cables later on (i like black build more than white because black looks more neat for me at least)
Hey Zach, love the channel! I would love to have a 800 dollar pc build that has a full size pc case and runs games like fortnite in 1440p while having amazing aesthetics.
I prefer the full performance builds, because I was raised in the third world and I had to deal with bad hardware all my life. That's why I appreciate the performance, because I see aesthetics as something not that important. I can understand why people in developed countries like aesthetics, but as someone from Panama I learned to appreciate what works better. I see aesthetics as a luxury.
Well it wouldn't be the most expensive to do both as you're selling them at the end of the month anyway and you'll likely have a better click through rate because, both people who want an aesthetic build and people who want a max performance build would likely watch it.
