Yes, especially if you play 1440p or higher, the GPU will be the bottleneck. Just noticed, however, that you are talking about music production. DAWs and music production still benefit more for single core performance over multi core (though cores can help too, higher single core performance is more important), so actually the "gaming CPUs" might be better to look at for music production specifically. The CPU is also far more important to music production than regular use, gaming use, editing use, etc. So in music production, CPU and often RAM are the things to invest in.

@@Thepaulislame any good and fast modern CPU will do you wonders then
Yes, especially if you play 1440p or higher, the GPU will be the bottleneck.
@@oldmatttv this is the answer I was looking for, thanks Matt!
Great overview
What is a good CPU to Stream and Game at the same time i can't decide between the i9-14900k or 7950x3d
7950x3d
Down here in Houston (not sure if on any other micro center) there’s a bundle of a b650 motherboard with wifi, 32 gb of g skill ram and the 7600x3d for 399 planning on getting that
What is the best gaming/production cpu around 350$ 3d modeling and rendering.
My Asrock B450M Steel Legend and Ryzen 5 1600 AF died 2 days ago. I shall be getting I5 12400F and a good quality Gigabyte GA-B760M Micro ATX Mobo for 298 dollars(that includes shipping fees as well. I live in South Africa so shipping cost is kinda expensive). The 5600X and a good quality B550 mobo cost 300-350 dollars in my country so I rather take the I5 12400F.
great video paul, i hope when you are on amazon in the video is not your address, so you dident leak.
Why no 7500f, it's perfect for 1440p
Agreed! 7500F is only 142€ in my area. Best bang for buck!
It's not available everywhere in the world though.
12400F was under $100 a few months ago, may be again soon.
My 2019 set has a AMD Ryzen 7 can I upgrade to one of these new ones with my existing mother board
hi, i want to ask.. my current pc uses:
CPU: i3 10105f
GPU: RX6700 xt
Ram: 2x8GB
MB: Asrock H510m-HDV/M.2
and i want to upgrade my cpu to I5 11400f, is it still worth it? Or should I just upgrade to an i5 12400f? i use this pc to play AAA gaming
No bios microcode update can fix a physical flaw in the cpu so no disagree on ever recomending them
The 12700k is $187 on newegg
Would you choose the 5700x for that $130 price over a 5700x3D?
If you're building new, go x3d. If you're upgrading go x3d.
If you want to play games get the X3D.
Yup went with the 5700x3d. Was delivered & installed today!
@@RodimusPrime29 🎉 congrats! I'm jealous
Just over here with my i7 13700k
same
What does this even mean?
13700k is only $275 right now. New.
I got an open box for $230 in July.
Best bang for buck. The degradation issue is a nothing burger.
@DingleBerryschnapps it means what its meant to supposed to mean, the meaning is the mean to what is meant to be meant and mean.
@@usleadershipareliars Don't be mean.
Waiting on my9800X3D, which has been lost in the Canada Post strike. I’m told it is scheduled to arrive tomorrow………….
How long do you think this part last if you use it for Production or rendering? I have ryzen 3700X and i thinK i need to change it but I do not know with what to last longer and I have B450 tomahawk max but i hate it because it has just Gen 3 ×16 pcie
What if you had a new segment called "Paul's Screamin' Deals!"
If I’m on am4 3950x is it worth upgrading inside of the am4 socket or just waiting to upgrade to am5 ?
You did not mention any use case.
@ vr gaming ,4K gaming music production and streaming . I play on getting a 4070 ti super or 4080 super as well to upgrade from my 2080 super
@@mastermachetier5594 have you checked if you are cpu bottlenecked when gaming at all? 4k and VR are very gpu demanding. Your best gaming upgrades in AM4 would be huge productivity downgrades.
@@InnocentiusLacrimosa I haven't been bottle necked with the 2080 super but i am afraid of being bottle necked with a gpu upgrade. I think the best bet is to wait regardless for 5000 serious and either get lower pricer 4080 super or a newer.. then upgrade to a different platform and repurpose this as a server for productivity stuff.
@@mastermachetier5594 being occasionally bottle necked by cpu is not dangerous. I'd get the gpu that I want and then see if I want a system upgrade later.
UserBenchmark has left the chat.
I legit cackled
Has UB ever been in the chat?
no we are told theres a final FINAL microcode that will fix the real problem this time for sure ;)
The 5700x3d is such an insane deal
Eh, just upgraded to a R9 5900X for less than $300. I think I'm good. It does everything I want and then some.
How come the 7500F isn't mentioned?
Need help deciding on the 7800x3d or 9800x3d. Long term gaming rig. Coming from a 5600
Definitely 9800x3d, especially considering they're basically the same price.
they are not the same price🙈😂🤣
Which cpu should i pick for gaming and recording + editing 4k video. I pair with 4090.
7950X3D or wait for the 9950X3D to drop at CES. It’s gunna be the dominant flagship for a while
Would have been hella funny to just swipe them off the table and pop down the 9800X3D and end the video all in 10 seconds.
My wallet is lucky I don't live near a microcenter
2:30 You just made the top of UserBenchmark’s DeathNote list 😱
If you only went for gaming builds there'd be no need for that stack of Intel boxes.
How is this "There is only one good CPU and you can't buy it because it's out of stock"..
Nice to see team blue getting beaten
Bitten
just bought a 2 5600x to day for my kids build
Love these videos
Always the best, Paul.
Paul I just wanted to say your videos are cathartic. Thank you.
That's appreciated thank you 😁
13700k is only $275 right now. New.
I got an open box for $230 in July.
Best bang for buck. The degradation issue is a nothing burger.
Edit:
Lmfao... Didn't even mention it. Silly video.
Missed a good one in the budget category.... the 12600k at Newegg for $149 with $20 coupon code and it also gets free 1tb Kingston NV3 gen4 NVME SSD and the Assassins Creed Shadows game for free! Deduct the game and the SSD cost and it's basically a $20 CPU! Wow!
5600x is about 12% faster than 5500 at the same clockspeed so the 5500 is a much better value at $85 - you'd need to find 5600x or 5600 at $98 or below to get a better value.
I realize you need to produce content; but I think that as long as the top tier X3D's aren't released you're wasting bandwidth.
Why do we need to spend this much money on Prosseser?
Intel and AMD need to more improve in 2024. Intel's prices are too high for their specs, while the Mac M4 offers great performance at a lower cost.
An Intel computer of comparable quality to a Mac Mini M4 costs twice as much as a Mac Mini M4.
AMD is not the ideal choice for video editing or Adobe software applications. In comparison, Intel and Nvidia perform well in these tasks.
Why are you recommending 13 14gen? It literally melt itself
excellent!
13400F
This has to be a difficult period for you Paul. Intel’s not doing well enough to substantiate this 😂
how come no one mentions the ryzen 7 9700x? It seems an upgrade to the 7700x
Well on Amazon the 9700x is $317 and the 7700X is $263 and the 9700x. So that's like also 20% cost 5% more speed.
Segregation is back. 0:26
Ryzen 5 9600X seems like insane value for just 6 powerful cores. Lol
No Intel Core Ultras mentioned. Auch.
