I also wasn't aware that counter steer assistance was on (perhaps still on from when I was using the pad?) but I didn't see it activate/flash red once on my best lap, so I think I got away with it.

Agreed. I got a link from GTplanet. I think they've sorted it now. There was no archive footage either for a bit after the event. It's al up on their YT channel now though.
Superb job there, Jimmy. Lots of excitement and action all the way! Tell me though, is the facility for instant replays during the race built into the game itself, or was that done using additional equipment and/or software?
You had the countersteer assist on though, which actually makes the car much easier to control therefore it's easier to get a faster lap time. Lewis didn't have it on so I'm calling a repeat of this challenge :p
that's not really true. you are faster with it off once you get good enough. it slows you down, so he could have had a quicker time with it off.

Wow so this is Gran Turismo Sport! Why all the hate? It looks amazing! Seems like it has good physics too so seriously why does it get so many people complaining about it?
It has good physics, but it doesn't have great or amazing physics. The thing is, it doesn't consider temperature, tyre pressure... well, I could go on, but the list is too big. You could look up a channel called viperconcept, he has a video talking about that.
I still love the game though, you have no idea hahaha

It's not a sim racer as they claim but a very solid fun game. Especially with a wheel. I love to race with the pad but finally hooked up my wheel and what a difference.
The penalty system is a little off but more or less clean and sometimes respectful racing is possible.
Can't go wrong since it's on sale and you can get it for about 20 to 30$
DingKing 75 bcause of its lack of tracks, short list of cars, no weather conditions, poorly designed offline campaign, online mode with a penalty system that is a joke. Other than that it's a lot of wasted potential so far.

Would have loved to see that last lap on replays. GT has hands down the best cinematic replays of all racing games.

The physics on this.... they don't look awful. It's no RFactor 2, but it looks like the cars have some weight to them. Never would go back to console "sims", but good to see there are some exclusives still keeping the genre alive for the console folks
Whisky, Weed and whips Watson This game should be released on PC as well, I’m sure PC gamers will love it and even tho I’m happy with the PS4 version, I want to try the game at Ultra settings, it will look insane.
This game is secretly the best racing game going right now. The physics are solid and the visuals are amazing. Above all, the matchmaking and online experience is second to none. There are so many players around the world that you can get a very competitive race once every 15 minutes at any point during the day without needing to coordinate with anyone. It's really crazy!
sandman1347 I agree with the online racing but you have to raise your sportsmanship rating to S to drive against clean drivers in daily races and if you want very competitive racing raise your Driving rating to A or A+ and participate in FIA manufactures and FIA nation season. The graphics are amazing considering PS4’s old hardware.
It's an excellent entry-level sim, and a very good racing game if you want some quick competitive racing. I only wish something like GT Sport existed 11 years ago when I got my first proper sim at the time (Live for Speed). It's like a crash course in racing and everyone's invited.
Live For Speed was an amazing game when it was released. Blasting the BMW F1 around the Aston GP circuit took up so many hours of my life. Good times :)

Very well done. I play the game from day 1, the problem is that you can NOT compare any laptime with Hamilton anymore since the game driving handling changed a lot after patches and updates. For me personally the game feels today like a very different one than at launch 🚀 and today it really feels much better to drive.

yea you are still running countersteer assist which Hamilton wasn't (Countersteer assist makes you way more consistent and quicker by like half a second a lap)

Edit - Don't assists in this game flash when being used? If so, I didn't activate it once on my fastest lap.

It may be you were running it in the mode where it only helps in "accidental" 40 degree drifts (at least that's what I ussually leave it on).
I don't know why it wasn't kicking in though. You slide sometimes where it should have. You should still try it again with no CSA, because it changes FFB feel a little bit.

Whatever about the state of this game at launch the amount of free content that Poly has added needs to be commended.
Brotip: gtsport is actually a really good simulator on a gt3 car, given the following setup: low/no tc, abs set to "weak" (equivalent to 3/12 abs in assetto corsa), and (some would say unfortunately) a t-gt wheel. Yes, its expensive af, but it gives you a ton more detailed ff info, like road surface texture and crucially very detailed tire deformation. Theres a huge difference in GTSport when using the tgt vs fanatec csl (yeah, i used both, also a g29. Csl is excellent in any other sim, but in gtsport tgt simply offers much much more refined and detailed ff)
I like the fact that you make a lot of pcars2 content, this is my favorite racing game these days.

this is why i love gran turismo, teaching us everything about car's history, brands, racing skills and knowledge, some time trial races or license test to keep you pushing and improving your driving and lap times, gt fans will know just how many times they restart a race just to get the best lap time they could, i play the campaign mode on gt4 and gt6, and even though i raced with AI when i am playing in campaign mode, i still train to avoid hitting anything, if i hit anything at all i will be upset and restart and try again until i get a clean run and then the final reward is the fantastic replay of your car racing elegantly and smoothly, and then the music of gt for you to relax and chill after some serious race, just looking at your car and chill with the jazz/lounge music
That last lap was a thing of beauty, you know it was a good one when the talking stops!

The second I saw the thumbnail, “My Shot” from the musical ‘Hamilton’ started blasting in my head
I beat Jenson Buttons time on a fantasy track in a full motion, full F1 replica body, BRD Sim by 3 seconds! And I was the fastest in Singapore that (F1) weekend - in the sim at least - although some Irish fella had me (very) worried for a second until he made a mistake in the last corner. That sim was amazing... only costs £250,000 too!

At the start of Lewis Hamilton Reference Laps #1 - Nurburgring: Extended Version, the settings are with ABS on and TCS off. After many attempts of Hamilton trying to beat his own time from the day before (or whenever it actually was), the video cuts to the final lap of his record, so there were probably more failed attempts that went on... But after his final lap record, he says ''This setup is better''. Which suggests some settings were changed that were not shown in the video after the initial setup at the beginning of the video. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned and/or noticed this. Thought I would point that out.

I came into this video thinking that even if you did beat his time, it was on a video game and that does not come close to real life even with the simulator and steering wheel, but I liked how you were humble about it at least. I will also give it to you that the ones with steering wheels and pedals are hard. I tried doing one with a laFerrari as my car and I had VR goggles and the whole seat leaned as I went around a turn and it would shake when I shift gears. it was also a manual. I am only 14. I have driven before, but only in parking lots. I spun out about half of the turns. the only thing I could do well was shift gears. but at least I had fun. if ur still reading, sorry if I got off subject a bit there, and good video Jimmy Broadbent.
Something I noticed recently is that your intros got a lot more energetic compared to a year ago. I watch old videos regularly because they get recommended and that's just something I noticed.

Well its comforting to know that even Jimmy cant talk when he is 110% concentrating on a race. I always wondered how the hell he can comment so eloquently while driving when I cant even blink during a race.
Hi Jimmy, not sure if I'm right on this or if you were doing something weird with your foot but the throttle map in game seemed to be reaching maximum before your foot goes all the way down on the accelerator. Could this be why you were having a lot of issues with oversteer?

Nice one Jim I had a half hour go at this challenge only last week same hard tyres and no traction control as per Lewis,I’ve only got a ps controller and managed a 1:58,640 would love to try it with a wheel as it span up so easy with the controller just wondered if it’s less sensitive/more controlling with a wheel??
Hey Jimmy, what's your reasoning on shifting so quick between gears? I notice in this video you're shifting before full red line.
Using the powerband more effectively would be my guess, but he’d shift early coming out of corners especially in order to minimise wheelspin.
You drove that last lap so well that I actually think that you could do better. But killer lap and so deep on the apex's. Were you right on the edge most of the way?

in my opinion GT sport is the best console sim racing game out there on current market,physics,GRAPHICS are DOPE,it has living online lobbies or sport mode...yeah these are good reasons for me
It's NOT a sim racing game. Anyone who thinks is a sim either never played a proper sim (iRacing for example) or/and has no experience driving cars in RL.

i agree,i played assetto corsa thousand hours with G29 (it doesnt have perfect calibration on ps4 i searched on internet and ppl had same problem) only thrust master or fanatec works perfectly and i cant afford them,i couldnt take corners properly the wheel has like 10-15 degree deadzone and you just cant fix it,and than gt sport got released and i could able to drive in peace,and now its time to wait for assetto corsa competizione got faith in them to fix it

Jimmy you should start a series "how fast can a ... lap Macau". Start with gt3, f1, lmp1 and stuff and later move on to lawn mowers and RVs. I cant wait to see the carnage at my favourite track

The physics have changed quite a bit since release (lap times are quicker now). So I’m not sure where Hamilton’s time really sits any more. But low 1.54s are definitely achievable now.

That particular car gets super tail happy coming out of corners. It's pretty fast if you can keep it controlled though
Next suggestion; Can you beat the Nurburgring 24h GT3 Pole Qualifying time? It would be interesting to see you go around the combined track in a GT3 gunning for just above 8 minutes

I've got a question, how did you set the CSL Elite for GTS (SEn, FF, SHo, AbS, etc...) ? And how you didn't get that rubbish noisy understeer rattle (Common GT Sport problem with Fanatecs and Thrustmasters) ?
