When you went to a Pink Floyd concert, you not only got a rock concert, you also got an incredible light show. There were 12 concerts at this venue, and this show was the last one of those 12. Run Like Hell was the final tune of the encore.
I was there. There were signs on the way in that said 'This concert is being filmed' We may have had a jazz cigarette or two beforehand. I've been to some great gigs but this was another level a total experience visually and musically. I don't think anything will ever top it..
The bass player there is Guy Pratt, an accomplished session musician who toured with Pink Floyd following Roger Waters' departure from the band. Pratt is currently in the band "Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets" along with Floyd's drummer, Nick Mason. They perform PF's early material on tour.
Recently found out that, among his many session gigs, Guy Pratt (probably around this same time, if I recall) was also the very prominently featured bass player on Michael Jackson’s epic “Earth Song”. Pink Floyd definitely went first-class all the way with their additional musicians. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Guy is the official replacement for Roger and has been playing with the Floyd since ' A Momentary Lapse of Reason ' album and tour , he is also on Madonna's ' Like a Prayer ' as well, his discography is something to behold. He was also an original member of the Australian band Icehouse who were big in Europe and had a European wide no1 ,he is also a full time member of ' The David Gilmore Band ' as well.
Guitar GOD! Dave Gilmour does have a very distinguished voice. He is very nice on the ears to listen to in interviews. I love how casual he is. A pair of jeans and a black T-Shirt. Like he just dropped in for a cup of tea and to play a few songs to you. Pink Floyd are truly remarkable!
I saw this concert two evenings in a row at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal on May 23 and 24, 1994. Despite the intensity of this last song, what was surprising when observing the spectators as they left the stadium was the calm that reigned among the crowd. This lost, or rather stunned look that marked everyone's face, as if everyone had suddenly became Comfortably Numb.
Indeed, this was the final encore for this concert...and it followed immediately after Comfortably Numb! The fortunate folks in attendance must been completely blown away.
Another amazing thing about the Pulse concert. The band and others had the foresight to create this concert for us to enjoy 30 years later. Whether you're new to PF or you saw this tour 30 years ago, it's nice today to be able to enjoy the Pulse experience.
Saw them in Vancouver, BC, on June 25th, 1994. Close enough to feel the flash pots and the pigs scared the hell out of me, hahaha. Best show I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.
The main thing with "Time" is listening and then deciding what to do with YOUR time. It's fleeting. Not one second will you get a second chance to relive. Make them all precious!
So nice to see you fell in love with this band and their music. And you still have to discover so much more great music of them! Looking forward to that! :)
That smile (and I think Richard Wright and Nick Mason were smiling too) was a mixture of satisfaction and relief that said 'this is the last track, everything worked, we've got the most amazing lightshow on the planet and the VHS tape** is going to blow everything else out of the water.' (** Yes this was before DVD was a thing)
As you're a fan of Richard Wright, I recommend that you react to "Wearing the Inside Out", a song on "The Division Bell" album that he composed and sings lead vocals on.
This was the final encore after Comfortably Numb. After emotions reaching their peak after Comfortably Numb, they hit the crowd with this song. Imagine leaving the arena after the last two songs. Imagine trying to go to sleep after a Pink Floyd Concert like this one.
I got to catch this tour on the US leg. I can't emphasize enough how overpowering the lights were during this tune. It looked like a UFO was landing on the stage. And the pyrotechnic explosions felt like what I would imagine an artillery barrage would feel like if it was landing all around you. The final song of the show just as it was at the Earl's Court show in this video and the band certainly did pull off a fantastic "grand finale".
I was lucky to see them twice. Once in 1974 in the Dark side of the Moon tour, then in 1994 in this tour. It was soooo wonderful. I have it on DVD too.
A great concert and as you say pink Floyd are out of this world and you are now committed to a continuous journey of emotion and spiritual deeply into your soul
Thanks for reacting to this! It's so much fun watching someone re-discover the great music I've known about for years, to see it again through their eyes. I saw this tour in Phoenix, Sun Devil Stadium, 70,000+, and it was even better than the video suggests. The lights were very tightly synced to the music all night long, and they had speakers placed around the rim of the stadium, so sounds could come at you from behind, across the arena, anywhere. It was indeed a legendary concert. Pink Floyd brought their own reality with them, and for three hours they let you visit them there. It was mind-blowing.
Saw them live in 92 and 94 and it was every bit as magical as you think it'd be, if not more so. I wasn't at THIS particular show that was filmed, but saw them on the same tour (basically the same show cuz back then with a production like that it HAD to be) and they were even better than the first time I saw them....True masters of their craft....I've been a musician for 40+ years and I've seen LOTS of shows, but I honestly think they were the best I ever saw.
Your reactions are true, real and honest. Glad you recognize the genius of Pink Floyd. BTY, I was there and after the concert there were just no words for what Me, my wife and 8 other family members experienced. You said we were lucky, well, you could say that as one of sisters won the 10 tickets from a radio station promo.
I saw this in Pittsburgh. When David teases with the guitar at the beginning, we knew instantly which song they were closing with. I almost couldn't stand the anticipation of them getting into the body of the song, but at the same time, I almost didn't want them to, because I knew the end of the show was at hand. Thirty years later, it still brings tears to my eyes.
Your reaction was PRICELESS! I wasn't at Earl's Court (I live on the other side of the world), but they did come to Australia in '88 and I was there. The show was something close to as spectacular as this, and I will NEVER forget it, ever. Among the greatest concert experiences of my life.
The bass player Guy Pratt is actually married to Richard Wright's daughter. So the keyboardist for Pink Floyd is the father-in-law of the bass player. Also run like hell the last song in the concert was the third encore song they played. The other two encore songs were comfortably numb and wish you were here and then they finished with run like hell!
What a fabulous experience it must have been to be there at that concert pink floyd are in a different league I've been a fan for over fifty odd years and will never get enough incredible it great to see younger generations getting into them I call pink floyd evergreens of the rock world loved your reaction
I caught this tour in Philly. It was pretty amazing. I was truly fortunate to have grown up when I did with friends who were as passionate about music as I was.
I do indeed to this day feel very lucky to have seen 6 nights in a row of these concerts, which did have different set lists. It's great to see the reactions of new Floydies. All the best from Scotland to you bonnie lassie.
Please, please please... Two requests: A) Do the studio version of Time, and B) Make sure you can follow the lyrics Enjoying your reaction videos so much.. lots of love x
great reaction to a great pink floyd song, there are many to choose from, id recommend TIME or MONEY from the pulse concert, imsure that you will enjoy them both
The reason why they are all smiling is because they know it's the last song and they can go have a smoke or drink or whatever. I was fortunate enough to see this show here in Nashville, Tennesse at Vanderbuilt Stadium. It is still one of my top 5 concerts.
Badass , greatly defined. There cannot and will not be another like them. Timeless Masters. Intergalactic Captain's. Hang on , as it only gets better. I have to hear them and Zeppelin everyday.
this song ends both pulse and the wall… but if u have not seen/heard Sorrow from this same concert.. wow.. his guitar and the crowd will make u cry.. so emotional
David and Richard had a very close bond. In fact the last Pink Floyd album (Endless River) that came out a few years ago was basically a tribute to Richard using a lot of things he recorded for the Division Bell album. And David’s solo song A Boat Lies Waiting is about Richard. I get teary eyed every time I hear it.
Saw them on the Division Bell (aka Pulse) tour in Toronto July 1994. Freaking amazing!! Man a few months short of 30 years ago already! P.S. My Pulse CD case still pulses! I make sure I don't leave dead AAx2 batteries in it to eff it up.
lovely reaction, im so pleased that you have found pink floyd, you should react to TIME or ON THE TURNING AWAY, aswell as many others, im sure you will enjoy them
I honestly wish that people could go back in time ... that they could see this live. I'm one of the lucky ones who saw Pulse concert twice. But it's only a moment in time. Luckily, we have these videos - which I keep watching - and are watched by 'young' people who appreciate this music sooo much. One thing I'm jealous about, is experiencing this for the first time. I'm way beyohd that. Anyway, it's so nice to see young people enjoying this 😀
It's definitely worth reading Guy Pratt's book - My Bass and Other Animals. He tells the story that he got the Pink Floyd gig more on his vocal audition singing this very song than his bass-playing ability (and bear in mind he's sessioned for Michael Jackson, Madonna, Roxy Music etc). The story goes something like this - He arrived at the audition very much worse for wear from an all-night party, and was surprised when David Gilmour didn't even want him to get his bass out of its case. Instead he wanted Guy to do the vocal parts for Run Like Hell. So Guy poured all the exhausted agony he was feeling right at that moment into the song, and left Gilmour looking shell-shocked. He walked away from the audition certain he'd blown his chance. A couple of days later he was asked back, and arrived feeling much fitter and healthier. Gilmour asked him to repeat his vocals, just to be sure it wasn't a fluke, and Guy - stunned that he'd created a good impression and certain he wasn't going to be able to recreate the pained performance - bluffed that he thought he'd demonstrated his voice enough. So Gilmour said "fair enough" and he got the job.
Hello Olavity, I'm a 65 year old ex-Musician and I only saw them Live once at was once called Milwaukee County Stadium in 1970s on the Animals Tour and they were Brilliant, I'm from America but I thought I would use an Engish word to describe them😁, and they blew up all the animals then too
Bee Gees and Pink Floyd , my two favourite bands, both have sold about 250 million records And while the Bee Gees have had more number ones and higher chart positions, Pink Floyd's concept albums are unmatched
In a song full of wonderful moments, one that stands out is Richard Wright at 3:27. He knows the roof is about to blow off of the building, and he cannot wait to help make that happen.
Great reaction again to Pink Floyd. Just wanted to say that you should also check out "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" which is the opening song on the Pulse tour in 1994. It was that song that made me like Pink Floyd once upon a time, and then bought their records. Good job, keep it up.😉❤
The crowd needed this to be able to function after "Comfortably Numb". The bass player, Guy Pratt, replaced Roger Waters on tours and was for a time, the son-in-law of Richard Wright. Great reaction. "Time is great live or studio, you'll love either one.
And i was one of the lucky ones!
I was there !
David Gilmour doesn't plug his guitar inta an amp , he plugs it into your soul
Me too. 2nd night.
Me too - i still Remember it so well 30 years later!!!
When you went to a Pink Floyd concert, you not only got a rock concert, you also got an incredible light show. There were 12 concerts at this venue, and this show was the last one of those 12. Run Like Hell was the final tune of the encore.
I was lucky enough to be there at Earls Court. I still can't get over it.
Were you still sane after the show or can't believe what you just witnessed
Still sane but completely overwhelmed - it hit all your senses at once. Stunning.@@jeffreywolff329
Congrats, how I would like to be there.
Mind = blown. I saw them in Melbourne in '88, and yeah, still coming to terms with it!!
Yea!! I saw this concert in '94 in the Oakland Coliseum! Nothing else has ever come close.
I was there. There were signs on the way in that said 'This concert is being filmed' We may have had a jazz cigarette or two beforehand. I've been to some great gigs but this was another level a total experience visually and musically. I don't think anything will ever top it..
The Devil's Lettuce?! HOW DARE YOU! 😉
Guy married Rick Wright''s daughter, so is part of the Pink Floyd family
That was a couple of years after this tour, but they may well have been dating already.@@stevePsutton
His father was Mike Pratt, who starred in the 70s programme in the UK 'Randel and Hopkirk (deceased)'.
Recently found out that, among his many session gigs, Guy Pratt (probably around this same time, if I recall) was also the very prominently featured bass player on Michael Jackson’s epic “Earth Song”.

All times best and most spectacular show
All those years of playing and David is still having fun playing.
I saw this concert two evenings in a row at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal on May 23 and 24, 1994.

This lost, or rather stunned look that marked everyone's face, as if everyone had suddenly became Comfortably Numb.
Coool i was there on the May 23th in Montreal as well , you are right we were all Def, Blind and in shock :)
Indeed, this was the final encore for this concert...and it followed immediately after Comfortably Numb! The fortunate folks in attendance must been completely blown away.
Yes, we were😃😃
I wasn't there the night of the recording - but I was there three nights later! "Blown away" doesn't really cover it!!
I was!
Another amazing thing about the Pulse concert. The band and others had the foresight to create this concert for us to enjoy 30 years later. Whether you're new to PF or you saw this tour 30 years ago, it's nice today to be able to enjoy the Pulse experience.
Way before it's time such a great concert! Saw them at Clemson Stadium WHAT A SHOW!
I was one of those lucky ones to be there - amazing to think it was 30 years ago this year!!! One of the greatest evenings of my life .
I was there both nights in 94. The entire concert had a profound effect on me I still feel today
The great performance 👏👏👏
Saw them in Vancouver, BC, on June 25th, 1994.

Floyd always blows my mind🤯 I saw then in 1988 and it was one of the best things ive ever seen. Echoes from Pompeii live is incredible❤
Song
Who can relate to the line, "if they catch you on the back seat, trying to pick her lock". One of the best lyrics ever.
YES. I like that line as well.
That smile (and I think Richard Wright and Nick Mason were smiling too) was a mixture of satisfaction and relief that said 'this is the last track, everything worked, we've got the most amazing lightshow on the planet and the VHS tape** is going to blow everything else out of the water.'
(** Yes this was before DVD was a thing)
Definitely live pulse I was at that concert and every song was mind-blowing evening,
I am 76 now and was there and will never forget this ever
That explosion shook the building. I still believe that it is the reason they pulled Earls Court down a few years later !! Too much damage.
That wasn’t a concert!
That was an experience!!!
One of the best guitar players of all time David Gilmour and this song epic
Amazing Pink Floyd.😀👍👍👍
If there's a more adorable music reactor on UA-cam I've still not seen them yet
BrainSqueeze is the one to watch.
As you're a fan of Richard Wright, I recommend that you react to "Wearing the Inside Out", a song on "The Division Bell" album that he composed and sings lead vocals on.
One of my top five songs of all time. It’s like a hope-filled trance that can’t be replicated.
Also US and Them from DSOM
Most definitely! That song is therapy for me.
This was the final encore after Comfortably Numb. After emotions reaching their peak after Comfortably Numb, they hit the crowd with this song. Imagine leaving the arena after the last two songs. Imagine trying to go to sleep after a Pink Floyd Concert like this one.

I saw that show in Chicago. The lights was unreal. Absolutely beautiful!
A great concert and as you say pink Floyd are out of this world and you are now committed to a continuous journey of emotion and spiritual deeply into your soul
Same concert, 'Take It Back' Beautiful song and the ladies sound so heavenly...
Thanks for reacting to this! It's so much fun watching someone re-discover the great music I've known about for years, to see it again through their eyes. I saw the very first performance of "The Wall" concert. February 7, 1980.
Your reaction was PRICELESS! I wasn't at Earl's Court (I live on the other side of the world), but they did come to Australia in '88 and I was there. The show was something close to as spectacular as this, and I will NEVER forget it, ever. Among the greatest concert experiences of my life.

I caught this tour in Philly. It was pretty amazing. I was truly fortunate to have grown up when I did with friends who were as passionate about music as I was.
I saw it in Berlin next to the Olympiastadion. Best concert of my life. Not only the show was perfect, the sound was the best I ever experienced.
When Pink Floyd played this song at the Hoosier Dome IN '94 the white lights were so bright that is made your eyes water!
Airport runway lights

Enjoying your reaction videos so much.. lots of love x
David Gilmore makes everything he does look so easy, he can be playing an amazing guitar solo and just looking around and smiling at the same time.
Hard to believe it's been 30 years since getting to see this tour. Nothing has topped it.
And that my friends, is how you end a show!!!
You are truly a fantastic reactor! Your voice, accent, and obvious love for music makes you far above the others on youtube. Cant wait for the next! ❤
It's a great so g! The entire Wall album is an amazing listen. Time is from Dark Side of the Moon.
Great reaction. Richard and Claudia are sadly missed.
A classic, timeless guitar riff...and a guitar sound that influenced rock and pop music throughout the following 1980's....
great reaction to a great pink floyd song, there are many to choose from, id recommend
TIME or MONEY from the pulse concert, imsure that you will enjoy them both
I had the great pleasure of seeing them 3 times Dark side of the moon- wish you were here and the wall tours all were every bit as great as pulse!!!
Studio first for sure.
The reason why they are all smiling is because they know it's the last song and they can go have a smoke or drink or whatever. I was fortunate enough to see this show here in Nashville, Tennesse at Vanderbuilt Stadium. It is still one of my top 5 concerts.
Right on. Thanks for sharing.
In my opinion one of the best songs on the Pulse DVD. Love it!
I think that David was relaxing that all the show was perfect., I think he put the group over him and this tour was very important for him.
Actually, Guy Pratt responded massively well to David in the lyrics 🎸🎸🎸

David and Richard had a very close bond. That bass ! Wow .
Great Reaction to a classic Pink Floyd song
Great reaction. For the song TIME, I would love to see you do the studio version followed by the Pulse version, both in the same video.
I did see the Pulse concert in 1994 in Montreal at the Olympic Stadium ! was awesome !😎
Pink Floyd 🤘🏼🇪🇨🤘🏼 yeahhh
What. A. Way. To. End. A. Show. 🤯
Saw them on the Division Bell (aka Pulse) tour in Toronto July 1994. Freaking amazing!! Man a few months short of 30 years ago already!

P.U.L.S.E foi o show mais fantástico e criativo.
KEEP TALKING - was my favorite song performance on the PULSE tour ! I also think it has a solo as good as comfortably numb.
Puls is still the best gig a work white❤️
In a song full of wonderful moments, one that stands out is Richard Wright at 3:27. He knows the roof is about to blow off of the building, and he cannot wait to help make that happen.

This is always their Finale, in this case it followed Comfortably Numb, never thought anything could follow that !
Great reaction again to Pink Floyd. Just wanted to say that you should also check out "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" which is the opening song on the Pulse tour in 1994. It was that song that made me like Pink Floyd once upon a time, and then bought their records. Good job, keep it up.😉❤
roger waters singing the other part to gilmour on the album is haunting and imo waters and gilmour together might be rocks greatest combo
