The issue with Fury Warriors (and Rogues) in TBC is that they don't bring much (if any) raid utility, which means they're just "raw dps" picks and that means they'll be compared to BM Hunters, Warlocks and Mages ...which is a battle Fury Warriors and Rogues won't have a chance in hell to win at until (if) they get Warglavies and a ton of gear/support in the raids ...which until BT++ is a raid dps loss in 9/10 raid encounters. Now I'm really confused if I rather play a druid or lock, since I'm really short of time every day and cannot indulge in playing both.
If you want to play Rogue or Fury Warrior: make sure you're guaranteed a raid spot ...they're not "bad" but they don't bring much (if anything) aside from their raw dps. As RAW DPS you'll be compared to Warlocks, BM Hunters and Mages which you *absolutely will not beat* until you get (IF) glavies in BT++ gear. Not saying you won't beat Arms Warriors, Ret Paladins, Enh/Ele Shamans, Boomkins, Shadowpriests and so on ...you will. But all the mentioned classes offer *A LOT* of utility that means they won't be benched, ever ...as a Rogue or Fury Warrior you will be benched first in the raid if you require more heals or more ranged damage. Tanking... First and formost you need to be reliable yourself, meaning near 100% attendance to your guild raids- if you can't do that then don't tank. As a tank you have 3 good options with very different roles and strengths, Warriors are the best tanks early on because they can easily get uncrushable with Shield Block management. Prot Paladins will always be wanted in your raid for buffs, aoe tanking and so on. Feral tanks are the typical "go to" third tank because they can dps in Cat and do a lot more DPS than any other tank, in BT+ gear they become absolute monsterous tanks and might end up surpassing Warriors as main tanks. For Enhancement Shaman, first of all ...you're the b*tch of the raid. Totem Twisting isn't an "option" but a requirement, you won't even get to benefit (shouldn't even try IMO) from your own Stormstrike debuffs for bigger Earth Shocks- instead let your Elemental Shaman take those stacks for their damage which is better raid dps. You might even be asked to equip a level 60 crafed 1h axe that reduces armor of your targets (3x 200) on some bosses because it's a big raid dps boost, like I said: you're the b*tch of the raid. My personal picking guide: 1. The look of the tier sets , warlock, shaman, warrior, priest( in that order imo) 2. Vertical in raids or H-dungeons. 3. Are you in high demand . 4. Fun to play( won’t get boring). 🥁🥁🥁Shaman , with a warrior tank alt🥁🥁🥁

For TBC I am not looking at War / Rogue / Hunter just so I can keep my bio breaks on wipes lol.
Imo Rogue should never get glaves because you ain't doing enough damage for it to make sense. The prot warriors get them and change to fury after. Fury is the I have tanked long enough to get glaves spec but you never go fury over arms before then.
People give glaives to Rogues because they pump late game, they are bis in Arena, and Rogues already are very good in pvp, and glaives are swords and Rogues benefit from sword spec.
Agreed on alot of points about the Enh Shaman, but since you now only can wield one crafted BS weapon and that you will suffer a minor DPS loss from running a main hand and off hand with different speeds, there really is no mandatory reason to go BS anymore. Which means you can now be exited for weapon upgrades and actually picking a profession you want. Gonna main Enh Shaman for sure!

@@Vorpalwarp Well sure, but he didn't discuss that either? Would have liked to explore that because if we're being honest rouges and fury warriors are two of the least sought after classes in tbc for the majority of the xpac. The thing is I’ve always loved rogue aesthetic and fantasy but I’ve never played one at max level so I would be scared of getting overwhelmed at max level with rotation :( or I’d boost that one.
If you want to make the most out of the rotation it is a little more involved than most, but as with pretty much any class in TBC, any skill level can play any class. May take you a little bit longer than other classes to play spec optimally, but for the vast majority of the game you don't really have to anyway. If I were you I would just play a rogue.
In an ideal world, where you get instantly invited to any party, I would play a ranged dps like mage. But since I want to have an easy time finding I will prob roll a healer. (Would pick resto shaman but char boost trolling me lol. So I guess priest maby?)
You said you want to feel like you are having an impact on the raids outcome, tanking will for sure bring that. Nothing worse than a bad tank as a dps, a warrior can step up but a rogue just has to watch. No hate but i find your reasonings fun. Everything thats not zugzug, and takes some effort with the rotation to do optimal damage or relies on CC/has mana = no xD
I just prefer these in PvP or PVE there's some skill cap, some room for growth. I can separate myself from other players the same class by playing better. If a class has a one button rotation, it could feel like there's not much to focus on improving at least in PVE.
You advertised this guide as a "class picking guide" but I found far much more about the content to be about you basically shutting down all the specs/classes that you don't like. Your vocal delivery was good, your personal reasons, well articulated enough(to the point that many rightly predicted that you're going to settle on rogue anyways, even though you said you wanted a class with more impact on the raid, like a tanking role). I suppose I have a bit of an opposite take many of your points, because my mains have typically been healers and much more focused on PvE. I think your guide would have benefited if it was more in a more general style, eg. "if you're a healer, what healing style do you enjoy more, direct heals, or hots?". What you also needed to mention is if you are a raider, then you want to make sure that the class you pick as your main, will actually be brought to a raid. There's nothing worse than picking a class only to be told "we already have 1, we don't need another". With the reality that you very likely won't be raiding with just one raid group these days, you don't want to be making the kind of mistake that will haunt you for the rest of the expansion. Rogues yes I agree are basically set to be the Warglaive bearer. But you need to be the designated rogue in your guild. That means outperforming all the other rogues, never ever missing a raid, being the kind of person that others aspire to be in both skill and personality...or just being the GM or Officer that handles the loot council lol.
The goal of a class picking guide is to eliminate the options until you end up with the class you think you will enjoy the most. You are right, I wasn't talking about healers much, because I wanted to show the actual process I went through. But if you ask yourself the same questions about healers you should wind up with the same results, ask yourself if you enjoy the rotation etc.
I also think the worst mistake you can make is to pass up on playing a class you enjoy because you're worried about getting into a raid group. In TBC, even the worst specs are so much better then the bottom end specs were in classic. Unless you have very specific goals to be in a hardcore Guild like I mentioned at the end of the video, I think the performance of your class should be pretty low on your list of priorities, unless you are a specifically performance-oriented player.
Yes enhancement is one of the easiest classes to kite in tbc. Other classes have hard cc AND slows and enhancement doesn’t have any gap closers and only has slows
I like meele pvp.... but every meele needs the best gear and i feel meele is harder casue its more chaotic - u in the middle of the running and jumping in pvp at least... every caster classs is over complicated or boring (like hunter drain mana, scorpion in arena so boring)... so it has to be Mage... Mage doesnt need the best gear, is simple, strong, fits with almost every comp in arena, has good CCs.. the only problem is - mage is cooldown dependent in BGs and he is not that good of a farmer anymore :(
Good guide, I will say tho, unless someone has a guaranteed raidslot already, I would not run rogue or warrior. Rogues are not that good and with most guilds cutting their warrior slots from 10-15 to 2-3, there are going to be a huge number of warriors desperately looking for a guild slot.
Why can’t a fury Warriors get glaives????? Usually it’s awarded to the player, not the class, unless you’re on a super hardcore guild, and even there, it would go to the warr since they do more dps than rogues.
chances are you wont have a fury warrior in the raid.. It doesnt bring anything at all and has mediocre dps while arms at least brings the 4% physical dmg debuff. Rogues scale quite well and you might actually have one in the raid(and they also do more dmg than both warrior specs)
Man, the video is great and your way of picking a class is great, just kind of a big deal that you instantly say "im not gonna speak about half the classes". It's not really a class picking guide, it's a "which class am I gonna play" video. Super annoying.
am a be the same thing Selling point feral druid 2s wanna dps in pve but will be force to tank. Good luck pvp enh i try long time ago and i think in pvp losing match and winning match is big part of my pvp chose. My favorite 1v1 is definitely is by far rogue vs feral. Well why do i play feral over a rogue, i like to have option of support. I like that priest away ask me to pvp with them just because they know i innervate them and when i innervate them they tell me that they love me. Just the impact that innervate as is big part of the reason why i play feral. I dont use wolfhead in pvp because i save my mana for abolish poison. Powershift bear who is extremely under value
Pointless guide - too much arbitrary and subjective stuff. For those of you who actually need help picking a class first decide on whether you're gonna focus on PvP or PvE. If you go with PvP make sure you check the arena class tier lists (there are many of them on Reddit and here on UA-cam). Arenas are going to be pretty intense this time and playing an underperforming class/comp is going to be the most frustrating thing in the universe due to boosting and private server tryhards.
I talked about deciding on what content you want to do at 3:37 and talked about picking a class that will allow you to reach the goals you set for TBC at 29:00. But I do believe it for the vast majority of players, they should focus more on playing a classy think is cool and that they would enjoy the gameplay for.
I mean, there is already 100 guides that will tell you to roll a hunter, warlock or shaman for PvE and/or Rogue, Lock, Druid for PvP - if that's the kind of video you're looking for.
The point of the video is to break apart about how to pick a class and he merely uses himself as an example, he isn't saying use his subjective metrics
Take notes people. This is how you actually pick a class.

Enhancement Kited? You have earthbind totem, poison totem, frostshock and ghostwolf!
Yes enhancement is one of the easiest classes to kite in tbc. Other classes have hard cc AND slows and enhancement doesn’t have any gap closers and only has slows
I have always had the same feelings about Paladin lol. Even in the Diablo series I can’t do it.
I was the opposite, hammerdins were my bread and butter
Edgelords for life, no pallies here
Warrior, rogue are winning for me
Literally calling Tier sets ugly which are probably the best looking sets in game. Shameful
Are you taking about druid?
@@Zatar Druid and Rogue actually. I get T6 but T5 and especially T4 of druid is cool af
Mage doesnt need the best gear, is simple, strong, fits with almost every comp in arena, has good CCs.. the only problem is - mage is cooldown dependent in BGs and he is not that good of a farmer anymore :(
Ambush rogue for pvp farming and general solo play.
Priest for raiding
how surprising, a rogue xD I bet that many thinks the same and just want to hunt for glaves lol
Paladin all the way.
caster dps are good in tbc, melee not so much
Good guide, I will say tho, unless someone has a guaranteed raidslot already, I would not run rogue or warrior. Rogues are not that good and with most guilds cutting their warrior slots from 10-15 to 2-3, there are going to be a huge number of warriors desperately looking for a guild slot.
I personally would recommend most people take the risk if they would enjoy the class more.
OK but how do you pick a class when you weren't obviously going to play rogue?
Why can’t a fury Warriors get glaives????? Usually it’s awarded to the player, not the class, unless you’re on a super hardcore guild, and even there, it would go to the warr since they do more dps than rogues.
I just meant that the ability for a fury Warrior to get glaives would not make me want to play it over a rogue, because both can use them.
chances are you wont have a fury warrior in the raid.. It doesnt bring anything at all and has mediocre dps while arms at least brings the 4% physical dmg debuff. Rogues scale quite well and you might actually have one in the raid(and they also do more dmg than both warrior specs)
Many people argue Fury Warrior scales into late game harder than Rogue.
Lost so much credibility when you called that mace ugly.
Man, the video is great and your way of picking a class is great, just kind of a big deal that you instantly say "im not gonna speak about half the classes". It's not really a class picking guide, it's a "which class am I gonna play" video. Super annoying.
It was not intended to be a class overview. Hopefully you can try to follow the same process yourself with the classes you like.
am a be the same thing
Selling point feral druid 2s
wanna dps in pve but will be force to tank.
Surely you won't be forced to always tank! As a bear, I'll probably have to cat on some fights!
So you got killed by a paladin in your past lol
This video gave me a u t i s m...
rogues and warrs suck in pve dps early tbc. Keep in mind might be hard to get spots.
lol talking abiut glaives, like you'll ever get them, it's irrelevant to put such an emphasis on that
you might as wel dont play classic than
Why did you ruin our guild man.. we were such a good guild until you destroyed it.
What happened?
