Curious, how come Dirty Diesel needs you to ship them your ECM, but this kit does not require shipping out your ECM? Do they not need to swap over your VIN all that other stuff?

I really appreciate the amount of effort you take to getting things well-lit and in focus. Stuff like not knowing where to plug in that 2 pin connector could add 30 min or an hour of research or testing to the job if i can't find someone showing it so clearly.

I'm in the States and fully deleted my 2010 this last winter. I did use a 4" exhaust, gotta say I love the whistle. So much more power and response. Also I agree about the damn triple lock plugs, what a waste of time. Keep the great content coming.
what did you delete with? what tuner?
I know it seems pointless but its a good idea to put back all 3 of the triple lock electrical connectors. The heat from the exhaust plus vibrations from the cummins are a perfect storm for plastic connectors. That black piece is meant to hold things together if the plastic loop connected to the thumb depress tab breaks. The "3rd latch" is just a safety for the thumb depress. It will not lock unless the connector is all the way on. Ive had many connections i heard click and felt solid but the slide tab wouldnt engage. So id have to take it back apart and clean til it would seat properly.

awesome job man! and really nice looking wheels! I'm in Nova Scotia Canada and I have a 2020 ram 2500 deleted. My emissions system was plugged up around 100k & I was in a similar situation to you.. being stranded sure sucks. not one issue after being deleted! wish I did it sooner ! Again Great Job!

I have a '17 3500 Dually that, after watching a few of your videos about it, decided to delete mine two years ago, with about 122k mi on it.

Good stuff as always. Nice to see the loopholes for the 22’s coming to light. I did hear you say 23’s also. Other than a facelift & a full Digital instrument cluster I don’t think much changed. So I’m assuming the ECM swap is a go for the 23’s.

I had to swap my egr cooler at 105k. The 22s are slightly different than the older ones. To get those back 2 bolts out I just used an IKON (harbor freight brand) 1/2” drive deep impact socket with a 3/8 to 1/2 adaptor on my 3/8 ratchet and it was the perfect height. The studs came out with the nuts so I just shoved the cooler back, off of that front coolant pipe and it came right out. It took me a little bit to figure it out so I thought I’d share to help somebody else out.
Also, with my 2016 I noticed that on the 100hp tune it would roll coal while it was cold but after it warmed up it would barely put out a little puff and on the lighter tube I always ran it would barely make a puff of smoke when it was cold.
This computer swap stuff is more than I want to do so I’m hoping they come out with the right kit soon

@@darkirondiesel I don't care for something like a 5 because some of them just sound kinda artificial. I'm much more used to a paper tearing type sound coming from smaller exhausts on equipment and truckd

That's how I felt when I deleted my lp5, But in Ontario we need to look over our shoulders it's illegal here. BTW the clean tunes actually work great without rolling coal.
I deleted my ‘18 ram 3500 and I play it safe around cops😂 luckily where I live, they don’t bother diesel guys but they’ll fuck over any gasser/car guys

Sir I appreciate the video. I grew up in Southern California, home and birthplace of the Hot Rod, and I’m blown away at these laws that have come out over the decades pertaining to “performance” parts and where they can and can’t be shipped.

Shipping them away probably covers it but the 2019 and 2020’s came with the pos CP4 injection pump. Ram recalled them all and began swapping them all back to the CP3 but still something to be aware of… Nothing says we fucked up like reverting back to what worked for so long 😂
I'm not even gonna say anything bout the deep dish pizzas, nevertheless this channel is a great resource and been recommending the diesel dudes link to everyone because the biggest hurdle is finding a tuner that isn't just a bunch of crooks

After installing the older ECM, did you have any problems with the truck? Did you have any incompatibility issues with the components being for different generation trucks? Thank you.
I got mine done around the same time as you, wondering if you got ccs revised tunes. They're super clean compared to that first one and fixed all the little issues I was having

Supposedly with 2021, when you get the recall for DEF or Transmission Dipstick they update the firmware on the ECU to be same rev as the 2022’s

Cummins has got to refine their rotten emissions systems! Been driving my 3.0 Duramax for 2 years and it’s all city and short drives and never had a single issue. GM is doing post dpf for egr and tucking the dpf next to the engine, I’m assuming for better heat. My 2014 Cummins is constantly having a clogged dpf and I’m sick of it! Deletes definitely make things better, but they can engineer something better for these Rams!

i am doing this next month. couple of questions.
1. does the truck now identify itself as a 21 truck?
2. do you lose any features at all? i have the limited and has the tech package. does the lane keep assist system still work?
Hi Kyle did you notice any injector noise when you deleted your truck ? Asking because I was told when you delete and run stock tune there is injector noise that is noticeable.
Never mind them 5th gens unless it’s just a toy to play around with.
My egr system started to clogged at intake manifold/ grid heater and low quality def light came on at 70k miles so i just did my delete on my 19 ram 3500 HO even though it had the newest calibration after they swap in cp3 injection pump. That new flash they did after cp3 swap they lock ecm from being tune. So what raceme tuner did is send me an old oem 2019 calibration that came with truck when i bought it brand new. ReDownloaded 2019
calibration first then after that it allowed me to delete tune it and add 5 power levels . Im getting 20 to 19 mpg now compared to 16 to 14 average . Dealers are locking them ecm with new calibration. Makes me wonder if 22 ecm can be calibrated to the 19 calibration first then delete tune will work without buying new ecm.

So, did something significant change with the 22? I did mine a year ago (2021), and I didn't have to do any of the ECU swap. I used EZ Link tuner and GDP for my tuning. Everything went super well without issue. By the way, I used your other videos to walk through the egr delete. They were super helpful! Thanks, and glad you finally done the 5th gen!
Thanks man. Yeah the ecm is the same in 2022 but my understanding is they increased the security on the firmware and no one has been able to figure out how to bypass it. That’s why you need to use an ecm out of a 2019-2021

@@suzuki8036 oh yeah. New, the truck got 15.5mpg. After the tune and delete I'm now getting 21mpg. My truck is also lifted on 37"x13.5" mud tires
Here in pa we dont do diesel emission testing so most shops dont care if its deleted or not they slap a sticker on it and send it down the road. Plenty of trucks around here are deleted

Good morning, I was wondering if you had any issues with your transmission shifting correctly after you did this delete? For instance, when, running a higher horsepower tune, accelerating quickly, the transmission may seem to slip or not know what gear to be in or in some cases slam into gear. Have you experienced any of these types of issues? Is there a relearn option for the transmission in other words reset it so that it has to relearn the new way the engine is running?

I have a 22 ram 3500 with the h.o cummins and Asian transmission. My truck derated like yours, but at only 1200 kms. If i could of got it deleted right then i would of. I was pissed. Just curious how much it cost you to do the whole delete? And can i get all my parts and programming that i need at dirty diesel?

On "the diesel dudes" website, there is a kit for 2019-2021 and a 2022 kit. Is the only difference the addition of the ECU? Could I just find my own 2019-2021 ECU to lower the cost?
I deleted my 2017 in about 2018 and have been completely happy with it so far. My question is, is it important to take off all of those hard parts in the engine compartment? The tuner I used at the time told me that it would not hurt anything to just leave it all there. I haven’t noticed any ill affects but I was just curious if something is building up so to speak.
Nah it doesn’t hurt anything to leave the egr in place on the engine. As long as it’s unplugged, throttle valve is unplugged, and you put an aftermarket exhaust on you should be good
Bummer that it needs to be done but what do you do when the system is about to cripple your expensive truck, if it just worked, you’d leave it.

I just deleted my dpf and unplugged the egr, tuned the truck on a 2014 Cummins 6.7. Now I’m getting lots of white smoke at start up. It lasts about 10 seconds and clears up. Is my truck trying to regen? Or WTF is going on l? Any help would be much appreciated

The truck will work way better than stock. It's a good idea to install head studs for extra protection.

@@wyo_garage20 I've been dealing with those trucks since 1996. I own 5 and all have headstuds. Yes you can use bolts but studs will seal way better and you can reuse them contrary to bolts and if you are going to modify the truck it is worth spending the money. I bought one new in 2018 3500 and the first thing that I did was to install headstuds. By the way it is stock. No issues, no worries about head gaskets problems. Plain and simple!!
@@domcummins4148 Factually incorrect. Neither head studs nor head bolts seal anything, they merely hold the head down and maintain the seal that the HEADGASKET provides. So tell me you don’t know shit…and it’s blatantly obvious.
If you knew half what you thought you did, you would know the head gasket seals between the head and block. Studs or bolts merely provide clamping load.
Also, head bolts are 100% reusable on a Cummins. Maybe get your facts straight bub.
Now, it’s clear you’re paranoid. And companies LOVE guys like you that waste their money for zero reason. I’m sure you run additives religiously too.
What tune did you end up programming in?
