I was thinking trash bag over the ice then fold table cloth in to keep from getting wet

Thank you. Would have liked to see what it looks like with the food in it.

place the plastic lid loosely over the top while not in use in between servings...Will keep cold even longer.

Hello! I’m looking to do this for my daughter’s graduation party. I really want to make sure fruit and cheese platter is safely served on ice. The problem is I can’t find a big enough platter and storage container combination. Does anyone have any suggestions where I can find them?

but when it melts, it's going to soak the table cloth and possibly the food......

dry ice is super expensive, hard to find, and will burn your skin if you touch it

In other words: 10 second google where to buy. Then wear a glove. Thus, yes you can.
If you can’t afford dry ice, you probably can’t afford a wedding, and might want to invest that money instead. 😂
